So im wondering since im a little lacking on groves, Karplusian Forest is a fine replacement? My concern is against RDW/Burn that it may bite me, but other than that, it doesnt seem like a bad idea...
Do you think Sudden Shock or Combust is a better sideboard card for Splinter Twin? I'm leaning towards Sudden Shock. It does have the problem that if they combo off with Deceiver Exarch and Splinter Twin it won't save you (though it will halt them in the other three ways they can go off), but unlike Combust they can't use something like Mizzium Skin to stop it. It also has more game against Birthing Pod combo decks, as it can kill Kiki-Jiki or Melira.

I was thinking along the lines of Torpor Orb. Stops the Kiki-Jiki infinates, and can also work against stuff like Avalanche Riders.

I'm mosty on the URx combo decks of the format, Scapeshift included, can you guys convince me why I should play this deck?
Because you hate Jund
On another note: what do you guys think of potentially MDing Slaughter Games? It's useful in literally 80% of match ups and once you figure out what they're playing, you can drop SG and they shouldn't be prepared for it. Might help balance out some game 1 losses.
And to rx: if MDing Slaughter Games becomes a good idea then more of a reason to play Tron. It's good against Jund and has a better chance+surprise factor over flavor of the week combo deck.

Pure beat down, at its finest. Multiple ways of winning, multiple variations of the deck. The meta is open to this deck with Jund being 50%+ of the format.

Slaughter Games is minorly useful in all match-ups--at least until you find yourself run over by Affinity, RDW, or Delver and wish you played something like Oblivion Stone instead.
In order to cast Slaughter Games consistently post-board, though, I've had to make minor adjustments--I play Prophetic Prism and Tendo Ice Bridge maindeck to produce more black mana. I've seen others on the Slaughter Games board plan play Overgrown Tomb or Llanowar Wastes (or even City of Brass when on the RGbw Board Plan). If those cards come out Game 1, opponents will be prepared for the Slaughter Games plan.
If Slaughter Games exiled a permanent, I can see a case for it being maindecked.
Thanks guys. I don't hate Jund I actually like the deck, just that so many people play it and the type of people that play it. No offense meant and I don't mean all Jund players.

So fast aggro decks are Tron's worst matchup?
RDW and Affinity are sort of nasty, but I'd say RG Artifact Tron has a harder time against combo. Exarch Twin, UR Storm, Sunny Side Up, and more are big thorns. Post-board, they just get more nasty.

I can see your point about Affinity/RDW/Delver, but is there nothing that would be useful to target in some of those decks? RDW would be tough to hurt with SG, but Delver could have a couple decent targets (does Modern Delver play Geist?) and Affinity... I guess it is hard to isolate any one thing that would crush them and not already be out by the time we land SG. However, I like the idea of potentially playing Chalice main too, which hurts Affinity and RDW decently.
And yeah, if they see it G1 they can side some stuff in G2, but what can they really do to prevent it? Run their own SG? Diversify threats? They could do all those things G3 when we run it in G2 after a board and if they've already won G1, they're still in a good position.
I just like being more confident in Game 1. I'm used to building decks where Game 1 is practically always mine and the post-board is my problem haha. Any other way to improve our match up in G1 over this week's "it" combo deck?
@Lec: +Vandalblast -? in the affinity match-up.
Karn seems kinda eh in that match up as they are fast and I think weathering the storm is more important.... get them to over commit and hit them with a vandal.... but I know I may be off. I know O-stone and 'clasm are also good.... along with Wurmcoil

I would agree with you, Combo pose a way bigger threat for R/G tron.
On a side note I will be updating the primer this week as I have some time off, what do you guys wanted added/edited?
Talk more about why the deck is good... What does it do that puts it in a position to be a proven deck.
Probably already addressed, but fleshing it out more couldnt hurt.
Also match-ups is key. Take a basic list with a all- around sideboard (one for an unknown meta) and talk why you put a card in and why you take one out.
Only a single Tron piece, but I do have 2 searchers and a T1 and 2 play. I would keep it if im going against a deck that runs a little slower, but would mull it against affinity or the like.
If its eggs, make them play it out. For ever 5 times some one starts making breakfast.... at least once will they end up dropping it on the floor if you catch my drift.
And thats when we bring in Lady Emmy's cleaning service and clean the mess (and out foe) up.
Although I may be missing something....

As soon as I asked, I realized I had a package today where I had 2 more....
Also got my hands on miscut tron pieces, so that'll look cool.

Also, example hands and ask if keepable or not (In edh section look at Raikou Rider's primer to see example.)
For example, I have an opening of doubleKarn Liberated,Sylvan Scrying, Ancient Stirrings, Urza's Tower,Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, and Grove of the Burnwillows...
