As long as you can reliably cast it on turn 3-4 where it matters the most. Try it out and see if its best for you. A lot of times I try to pod for glen-elendra and combo out the next turn, all depends on board and hand state
I searched and saw no mention of Reveillark in this thread. It occurs to me that it's worth looking at. It'll bring back Exarch and Kiki, for example. It also gets good value from Voice, Redcap, etc. Anyone have experience? I'll get to testing it.
Ninja edit: also obviously insane with Kiki-Jiki or Restoration Angel to get the triggers.

Hello.
I´m running Reveillark on my list, and I think this card add a great value to the deck. He helps a lot on control matchups, he's effects also played when we resto him out or even when the opponent anger the gods us.
I´m considering adding a sun titan to have something to pod him.

Ei ei, nb: i'm playing naya pod, i dont play blue so the deck i'm playing is a but different -BUT i have to say it works GREAT and i dont miss blue at all :D-
I play reveillark in the side against bgx decks and uwr -i play in side burrentown too so its a nice interaction- and its a great card but i'd like to play it in the main,.... Problem? What to cut? Cos cripts are too good, so the choice is 1x kiki... But i dont really like the idea giunge down to 1 kiki, my combo is already slower! Ideas?
And Scapeshift is nearly impossible without Slaughter Games. This is reason enough for Slaughter Games I think. Of course, Negates are better against a lot of decks, like Jund and various gifts decks, but even those cases, you could make a case for Slaughter Games. I would probably side it in against Jund, naming Goyf, just so I don't have to worry about the constant beats. Especially because it's near impossible to combo against Jund with all their removal. Against gifts decks, naming Elesh Norn could make the game a whole lot better. Negate would probably be better, but Slaughter Games has more, better uses I think over all, especially against our worst matchup, Scapeshift.
I have to disagree with this entire paragraph. Negates never come in against Jund. Naming Goyf after they played it is useless and for most part it's a card that does 0 for 1 with potential of a 1 for 1. They'll just kill you with Ooze afterwards. You don't try to combo against Jund, you play a value beatdown game and punish them for their lifeloss from Dark Confidant. Against Gifts I love seeing Elesh Norn because it's just the perfect card to take away with Zealous Conscripts and finish the game on the spot after they tapped out for Elesh (either by hard casting or Podding into Conscripts). We have Eidolon of Rhetoric to back up the Negates (can't counter our counter with the mana after casting Scapeshift). We also have Glen Elendra Archmage which single-handedly wins this match up. I can't see a good reason to add a 5th color, make our manabase hurt us even more only for a card that is not even Standard playable...[/quote]
I don't know how to make this quote thing work so just pretend the above paragraph is in a shaded box too
Ok, I wouldn't side it in against Jund either, but I was just making a statement about how it could possibly be used, as in before they played goyf, so that there wouldn't be an unkillable beater just waiting there for you to attack. Also in my LGS, there's a lot of Anger of the Gods being ran in jund sideboards, and negates are about the only way to deal with that. Or possibly Slaughter Games. But like you said, probably not good against jund. And against Gifts, do you honestly rely on your 1-of Zealous conscripts to win the game? And even if you do, you're probably only swinging for 9 that turn, because the rest of your board was probably killed by the Elesh Norn. I'm mostly talking about UW tron gifts reanimator here though, and they run a ton of boardwipes and removal, so it might just be that.
And same thing with Scapeshift. Do you rely on your 1-of Eidolon or Glen Elendra Archmage to win? Because the Negate's for sure not getting through without Eidolon. And you for sure won't be able to pod for it either, because that's never getting through. 1-of's are not an acceptable answer to any deck running 8 maindeck counterspells basically just for pod. And my manabase is not getting any worse by this. I only got rid of 1 Temple Garden (I had 2 before) to put in 1 Godless Shrine. That makes 11 possible sources of black in the deck, with only 1 land changed. And that's true, Slaughter Games is not standard playable. But neither is Deathrite really, but guess what's banned in modern? I mean, Slaughter games is no where near Deathrite in terms of power, but Slaughter Games is still sometimes a 4-of in tron sideboards just for Scapeshift as well. I just think it warrants testing for what I call a near impossible matchup.
Well, I'm not trying to sound like I'm mad or anything. I just think that it could be useful. I''ll test when I can (I'm now swamped with homework and stuff, and the modern near me is only on thursday nights, so I probably won't be able to go for a while), and well, I don't know. We'll see.
Edit: Oh and congratulations on your great finish at the PTQ!
Soundclaw Mystic
1G
Creature - Human Shaman
T: Add G, U, or R to your mana pool.
Morph 2
When Mystic Soundclaw is turned face up, add GUR to your mana pool.
Nice 2 drop. Even the morph could be useful late game against Electrolyze decks (or maybe not)
So we could see:
T1 Mana Dork
T2 Face-Down Mystic
T3 Reveal it, tap it. 6 mana on turn 3 and nowhere near a christmas magic land scenario since there are tons of mana dorks and morph doesn't use the stack.
So, I was looking through the deck and saw people running Keranos. I assume its for the grindier match-ups, grinding advantage?
Yup, Keranos is the ultimate in grinding technology. He's such a good grinder that he sees Legacy play. Legacy play. He's a 5-drop that can be pitched to Force of Will, can be countered by Pyroblast, kills Jace, the Mind Sculptor, can't be countered by Spell Pierce...he's a 5-drop that sees Legacy play in a format where 4-drops have to be Natural Order good.
In Modern, Keranos is hard to kick out, tears chunks out of Liliana of the Veil, helps peg opposing Linvalas, and is worth Podding away Restoration Angel for.
So is Keranos better than Sigarda in the more grindy matchups (BGx, UWx, Pod mirrors) Just wanted to get some opinions as I haven't had a chance to try either yet. Also, I think the new mana dork could be worth testing in the non chord builds in place of Wall of Roots where WoR isn't as important.

I read that Sigarda is better against rock/jund/junk and Keranos is better against uwr. This is pretty logical, since Sigarda makes lili half useful, but can be killed with supreme verdict or ***. But in my limited test games, keranos was a awesome against jund. In one game I poded an angel for keranos just before going in top deck mode. Then I limited myself to survive while keranos literally took over that game. It probably help that he didn't draw any tarmos.
So, I'm still testing (only online), but right now I side in Thrun, Sigarda, Obstinate Baloth and Keranos against Junk/Jund/Rock. Against uwr is not clear for me, I side in the same cards minus baloth, but the MU is still miserable.
I brought this up a couple pages back, but now that Onslaught fetchlands are confirmed to be reprinted, how do you guys think this will affect our optimal manabase? Is 2 Misty, 2 Mesa, 2 Foothills, 2 Heath the way to go?
4 Foothills and 3 Heath is going to be right with most builds. With cliques, I'm currently running a basic island and 8 fetches. I'd like to keep island fetchable from at least 3 lands:
The current manabase fetches all of those up handily.
The only flaw in the current manabase is that it will not easily fetch up a Plains, since only Mesa will get it.
If you want to solve for getting that Plains, then the play is to swap out Misty Rainforest for Windswept Heath as a 4x. Misty will get Hallowed Fountain, Steam Vents and Breeding Pool - Heath will get all of the same except Steam Vents.
I'm actually not inclined to change any of my fetchlands yet. Eight sources for Forest and four for Plains is pretty good. It's hard to slot another one in completely without cutting off something like Steam Vents or Sacred Foundry inadvertently.
The least important land to search for is Mountain, since you've got four Groves and Stomping Grounds. That's why I'm not inclined to put Foothills in here instantly.

Except that Mountain is often the important one to fetch up to get to triple R. Yes we have alternate sources (I assume you meant Fire-lit rather than Stomping).
Each fetch in contention will get all but one shock so it's a matter of deciding which 2 are the least important:
Steam Vents and Hallowed Fountain are arguably the least important lands so that would imply Windswept and Foothills.
There's also an argument for a balanced 2 of each windswept, misty, arid and foothills. This gives 6 ways to get each shock and 4 ways to get each basic.
I and others have been having success with V.Clique which requires increases importance of U. Flooded Grove is an option but now that we have 6 fetches to choose from I'd rather not resort to filters.
What other decks are people expecting to come up now that we have allied fetches? Jund, Naya Zoo, Esper Gifts, Cruel Control, Teachings, Hatebears, Faeries and Bogles are ones coming to mind. It's a diverse list, but I can see another sideboard slot towards midrange threats, particularly ones like Loxodon Hierarch, Obstinate Baloth and Thragtusk with lifegain attached.
My initial thoughts were that Jund and Pod decks get a little better, and control players have some space to start exploring decks that aren't just UWR. I also think the addition of the Onslaught fetches could make Blood Moon much better or much worse, but I'm not sure which
I should also say that I am playing 1 of each basic (excluding swamp) in my list. Mostly because I am in a Path heavy meta, so they feel it's a free StP after I get my second basic.

3 Wooded Foothills
3 Misty Rainforest

This gives 7G, 4R, 3U, 2W. Potentially -1 Foothills, +1 Windswept for the 7/3/3/3.

In that case, I think Misty Rainforest would be better than Flooded Strand
