I agree that 3 Chord is too many. I have been playing 2 and have been happy.
so i am not the only one, i will play with 2 and see how i go
chord is great but its expensive. also seems like people are either playing 3 hierarchs, 3 WoR, 3 chords or 4 hierarchs, 2 WoR and 2 chords as the wall of roots is less important without chord of calling.. and this deck goes so much better with a t1 mana dork
My list is very close to that. I was running 4 Finks but I have recently cut one and gone back to a Fiend Hunter. After playing with Angel Pod for a bit, I really miss the Pontif removal slot and Fiend Hunter plays a similar role.

yeah fiend hunter is great for the removal also being able to bounce it with resto while triggers are on the stack is cute. adds a whole number of angles which is awesome.
almost spot on to my list atm. i haven't tried wall of omens yet, may end up cutting it. but drawing cards with omens and resto is sweet against a few decks so i want to try it for a bit.
would like to hear from brian liu about his thoughts of kiki pod atm. seeing him win gp richmond was great.
Believe it or not, I've actually found Canonist to be better than Eidolon of Rhetoric. Reason being that you can cast restoration angel or negate to protect it after you play it (and of course the one less CMC). Storm players will probably be running another answer other than lightning bolt now anyway.
As for the Pontiff slot, if you miss it, maindeck Fiery Justice is an option. It's not a creature, but it's something.
one thing is that fiery justice is a hell of a card. definitely will be wanting to play a second one but never know what to change, its so tight the sb of kiki pod. but the fact that you can tutor for removal (fiend hunter) is massive and also that it works well with resto angel makes it even more impressive.
brings me to the question why is there are a lot of people not playing 4 restos! i think the card is insane.
that is true about the eidolon vs canonist. but UR storm is still a fringe deck and it has less answers for a 1/4 enchantment then a 2/2 artifact, i rarely play the match up and i am not so worried about it and chose eidolon cause its a few bucks cheaper :P. there are reasons to playing either at this point i guess.
Storm made top 8 at PT Valencia (screw the stupid set-associated PT names). I wouldn't call it a fringe deck. It's been putting up solid results for a while now. On the debate, I prefer Canonist for the same reasons as Brian.
I'd consider trying out Fiend Hunter, but my mana is SO stretched as is, and I'd rather be able to play Clique.

I saw this series of similar suggestions. I'm wondering more and more if 2x Chord of Calling 2x Domri 4x Hierarchs 2x Wall of Roots is the way to go. I'm not a super professional player, though. Is going that route watering the deck down too much? Is focus better?
PS: Here are my proposed build thoughts. I tried to split evenly the ability to either "combo out" or "beat down"; yet, not completely compromising either. In the list, for each CMC I tried to visually separate them as comboy cards first, and beatdowny cards second. There's a pretty even split in each CMC between the two, with some overlap. I kind of think of the 1x Linvala as a Restoration Angel with "silver coating", but no combo potential.
Edit: I see some people are liking Fiend Hunter. Given the build above, I would probably replace Eternal Witness. They just feel so similar in a lot of ways that I can't justify both. Agree/Disagree?
Edit2: I also want to point out that given the build, I'm thinking of Domri and Chord as "secondary" pods, with Domri being the "agro" split and Chord being the "combo" split. Obviously with some minor overlap between the two.

clique is a sweet card and i was thinking about trying it. but against the decks i want it such as scapeshift and uwr they play electrolyze. but i am curious how its been working for you? have you tried eidolon before? curious if its ever let you down before and what happened to it
kuro, personally i dont like phantasmal image, i tried playing it but it was only good for the 1 + 2 drop combo with exarch into resto into kiki jiki and you would invest so much life and you're whole board and if the opponent has any interaction you're left feeling burnt. plus i end up sideboarding the image out about 80% of my games, that was my experience with it.
eternal witness is great, it can get back you're spells from the graveyard, and can get back bullets. and i find its great for getting back a finks or VoR so you now have 2 or 3 activation's from pod all from one creature. then you have resto to get even more value. its a great card.
Completely agree with Girds. I was a big fan of Image when we was a "Destroy target Linvala" but with that ability now gone, he loses a lot of his utility. Witness, on the other hand, is one of my favorite cards in the deck. I have won many games just going Chord->Witness->Chord->-Witness->Chord->Kiki on a stalled board. She is also an excellent Pod target against Path decks since your Finks are prime targets for Path.

Clique is a great beatstick, and the ability is pretty relevant, but it shines in a way beyond what it does in other archetypes: It filters our draws. I went up to 2 Cliques and I'm extremely happy with it.
I wouldn't dream of cutting Witness, especially as long as you run Chord. The chord-witness-chord-resto value play is insane, especially against the grindier decks without counters like Jund. The other thing about it that is great is that it recycles hate pieces such as Pridemage, Combust, Negate, Justice, and dead hatebears. It's allowed me to free up some of the sideboard slots that were taken up by duplicate Skites/Linvalas.
I have considered running a 2nd Justice, most likely taking out Kataki to do so. He's been very underwhelming for me; he's only there for one matchup, and in that matchup I usually end up finding Sliver anyways. It seems unnecessary for a matchup that's already slightly in our favor. Maybe I haven't had enough experience in that matchup, but he seems like overkill. Anyone else had the same experience?
Hey folks, I'm prepping for a PTQ at the end of the month. The area has a largely unknown
meta and I wouldn't mind some suggestions for the following 75. I have been playing roughly this
list since the banning of Seething Song, and had good luck with it.
I don't see how you guys are cutting image, the things that you can do with it are just insane and can get you out of so many jams. I have been able to copy restos to untap zealous to pod to kiki for the win. I have been able to copy redcaps to just win on the spot with pod, copying voice, to podding it for witness to get back image. That card can just do so much if you are creative with it. I never end up siding it out. It is such a bullet that does crazy things. I feel like you almost always have an out if you are playing image

the image is really not that necessary. sure it can be great a couple of times, but its a card which usually gets boarded out 80% of the time, it's so easily dealt with. plus if im boarding a card out 80% of the time its better just to part ways with it.

I think I agree with both of you on everything you've said; however, isn't the point of a mainboard to be as general as possible, and then you side out your generality for your specificality? It seems to me that Phantasmal Image offers a lot against a totally unknown opponent, but offers much less when you can replace him with a very specific solution.
I suggest these ideas as an experienced novice trying to learn, though =)
I agree with this statement. Don't fall for the "it's bad in game 2, so it must be bad in game 1" trap. It's one of the most common pitfalls for competitive players.

@Kuro: That doesn't sound like a bad idea, with my list I am going to test cutting the Fiend Hunter for a Domri. I do love me some Domri.

I can't say this is the same experience I had, although it did die considerably often.
I'm really not a huge fan of Domri, but I don't think it's necessarily a bad idea.
