Just a thought after the spoil of Ugin yesterday, will a Tron deck built around him be decent? If so, which color (if any) to back him up? I was thinking something along the lines of mostly colorless with wurmcoils/Ugin/thoughtcast and other useful artifacts. I don't come on the forums often so this isn't a deck I can spend time on myself, just an idea that would be interesting to see someone play around with.
I like the idea, but the full tron produces only seven mana. As much as I want Ugin to find a home Karn is just better in a from deck. Maybe that is just my opinion though.

I was thinking, with an artifact base, maybe mox opals to get to 8. It probably does just boil down to the fact that Karn is good enough in the deck anyways though
Any Tron list interested in Karn will generally also be interested in Ugin. Karn cannot wrath the board, which is a big deal for Tron to stabilize. They already run Oblivion Stone, which costs an effective (8) as well but is soft to affinity hate. The 1 mana difference matters very little; Tron will very commonly reach 10-11 mana before hitting topdeck mode.
I think mono-U Tron stands to benefit the most since as draw-go control it needs a stronger lategame play than Karn. Ugin fits the bill here perfectly.
Going to have to disagree; one turn (the one mana difference) is not insignificant. You can very well lose on the back of having to wait another turn to drop Ugin. Oblivion stone, while yes, cost a total of 8 mana to drop and activate, can be played on turn 3 in the face of a Blood Moon. Or in the event Blood Moon comes the turn following O-stone, assuming you hit your land drop, you can still crack O-Stone on Turn 4. Getting hit with a Blood Moon and banking on Ugin to save you will only lead to many sad faces.
But I do agree that Ugin feels like he would be a better fit in U Tron in that U Tron isn't primarily focused on slamming down huge threats on T3, and can very well still win without assembling tron.
I think Ugin will work in tron. He provides a lot of things that Karn doesn't. But he will not replace Karn. Karn can come down turn 3 if you get all three lands, and that's sort of a big deal. In order for Ugin to come down on turn 3, you'd need some kind of mana rock on turn 2 (signet, talisman, etc.) So I think Ugin will be in most tron builds, it's just a matter of the numbers.
Right, he's not a replacement for either O-Stone or Karn. "Interested in" means he should see some play, hard to say right now whether he will become standard fare for any of the major 3 archetypes though.
U-tron is looking at playing him. As others have posted. Tron makes 7 mana, not 8, which means turn 4 or later for Ugin. U-tron does not rush towards making tron and is grindier, which will be a good fit for Ugin. If you want to build around Ugin, you need to be able to take your time, so maybe a control build. Incidentally a R/U build with Keranos could be fun. U/B with additional ramp could be good. That new siege card that was spoiled looks pretty sexy actually.
