So, I Was looking for a good/decent decklist for Naya Modern that was patterned after Midrange, and couldn't find any. I aim to fix that with this thread, if you have a Naya list as well, feel free to share it in the comments.
The weaknesses of this deck that I know of are that it has poor sustain against decks that rush the early game to kill you quickly, and occasional color screw, that I tried to mitigate by using shocklands and the Ravnica Karoo's. The slots that I consider flexible are Thrag, Resto, Huntmaster, Firemane, Ruric Thar, and Archangel. the ones that I have had a lot of fun with, and turned out to be quite successful are Gisela, Aurelia and Primeval. I'd like to find a way to keep the green for extra lands and prime time, so going down to red white only isn't very helpful... any advice, guys? On the fence about Thundermaw, but it's kind of a meh card near as I can tell.
The deck looks like it has a vrey vrey high curve. I wouldn't really consider it a Midrange deck at all, it's more of a lategame fatty/bomb deck.
My first piece of advice is to change up the manabase. Look at this Naya Midrange primer for the landbase and how it works. Maybe take some advice from some of the creatures on how to make it more midrang-y.
Aside from the expensive cards in the decks, I'd suggest ramp in the form of Birds of Paradise or Llanowar Elves. You do need some smaller creatures to get to your bigger ones before you die. Modern is a turn 4 format, meaning that most decks plan to win on turn 4 or earlier. It's pretty unforgiving so keep that in mind.
I agree. I love the creatures. In standard, this would even be too slow. Lands need to be at 24 coming in untapped. You're going to get wrecked every time you play this deck. Removal is a must in the form of Lightning Bolt, Path to Exile, and Lightning Helix. You need at least ten in a Naya Midrange deck. Run some basic lands for opponent Path to Exiles and such (2-3 should work). Planeswalkers do a lot for this kind of deck (i.e., Ajani Vengeant, Domri Rade). For cheap lands, consider Copperline Gorge and Razorverge Thicket (ideally, you want 4-6). Dump anything over five mana as it's too slow, as Torpf above said. Run goodies like Loxodon Smiter and Mirran Crusader in the 3 CMC spot. Crusader has protection and Smiter is perfect vs black decks with discard, especially against a Liliana. Options are a key such as Qasali Pridemage. Exalted helps get in early damage and its good vs Affinity. Usually you want to block a creature, then sac pridemage to kill another attacking creature aka Spellskite or Vault Skirge. Also get rid of the colorless lands. Either run 3 Gavony Township or Kessig Wolf Run. Dump everything else. You need to hit your colors fast. Thragtusk does nothing at the 5 CMC slot in Modern. Running Restoration Angel is good, but it's more for a control deck. I'd rather see faster creatures such as Burning Tree Emissary, Tarmogoyf, or Noble Hierarch. Hope this helps!

I was trying to avoid suggesting completely changing his deck hahah. Anyways, I didn't assume it to be a competitive deck, rather something for the budget sub-forum. I just wanted him to get a look at other "proven" decks and realise that he would have to change it if it wanted to be competitive at all.
Maybe his deck would be happier in a re-animator strategy, but then that would take away form the Naya colours.

For sure. Well, he could leave out a bunch of the cards, but lowering the curve and fixing the mana base is a great start. Loxodon Smiter is $1.25 a piece, which helps a ton for pressure. Mirran Crusader is $3.50 and Lightning Bolt is the cheapest removal in the format under $2. Burning Tree Emissary is like $1 a piece on Amazon & Qasali Pridemage is about the same price. With these changes, it's a tad over $25 total. Basic lands cost nothing. This lowers your curve, gives you castable options. Keep your Huntmaster of the Fells and add Ghor-Clan Rampager, as they're like 50 cents a copy. You will really pressure anyone with these nut draws.
I hate to say it, but it looks like you just threw together a bunch of the best cards from the previous two standard years and made a modern deck. Dump everything and rebuild.
