I'm needing help to make this a semi-competitive build. It seems like it fires off too late for most times. I'm in need of any and all modifications. I do like the idea of either Selesnya Charm or Raise the Alarm for a 2-Drop token creator. I don't like Call of the Conclave because it's too slow. Any and all help are welcomed!!!!
You might want to maybe put this in the Modern Budget subforum, looking at some of your card choices. Cards like Evolving Wilds are terrible when it comes to competitive magic, and there are literally zero decks that they belong in. You need to run the Zendikar fetches, which will run about $50-$90 a piece. I also see a ton of token support, and not that much token making. Take a look at the B/W tokens deck thread for some ideas on efficient token generators in white. Entreat the Angels is also pretty bad in a deck with no deck manipulation.
You want to lower your average mana cost as well. Turn 4, when you'll be playing cards like Parallel Lives, is when most Modern decks are winning, either via lethal damage from attacking or by comboimg out.
Voice of Resurgence is one of those cards that seems really awesome in theory but never seems to pan out in experience. I've tried it a couple times and it never made a good fixture. I recommend focusing on low mana token gen like Call of the Conclave and low mana populates like Druid's Deliverance and Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage.
That said, I'm not a huge fan of green white populate decks. I get what they're doing but they always strike me as inherently slow compared to other token gen decks.
Mermaids. I have the money to do Fetches. This is just what I have come up with so far. And yes, I have a competitive BW Token that does mighty fine. I'm just wanting to see what GW can do.
Buglette. I guess why VoR does so well is because Standard doesn't have one mana exiles. :/ Would you make some changes and allow me to evaluate my choices? Appreciate it. Thanks for the advice! Also. What about instead of Call of the Conclave putting in 4 Selesnya Charms. Gives me a Vigi creature for -1/-1 and it comes with Flash.
In modern? I mean, it's definitely a playable deck but most of my deck builds aim to either win by round 3-5 or have definite control. Modern has so many token gen dynamics that work faster than populate and populate is contingent on there actually being tokens. I like it fine in standard but I would rather go a different direction if my goal is a token deck. I dislike having to worry if my last token of a given type is destroyed or if I'm populating enough to handle their creatures.
Like I said, it's 100% playable but I haven't seen a populate deck that could really shine until round 6+. One of the reasons I put forward Vitu-Ghazi Guildmage was that she's one of the only populates that repeats multiple times a round without relying on combos but even then you're looking at 4 mana for each creature. Unless you hit advent of the worm or one of the really big token creature cards, that just isn't worth it. Doubling Season (or equivalents) certainly make it more viable, but again, that's turn 6+.
Blade Splicer. Nest Invader. But the deck needs some way to interact early. Black uses discard to buy a little time. You can't turn 4 kill with this deck and can't interact with combo decks. You actually get beat up by Controlling Supreme Verdicts unless you keep the mana up to do a Rootborn Defense, even that's not too reliable. The populate Fog won't let you last long enough to swing back.
Generally the direct you are taking this currently doesn't look too playable in Modern. I think its fun and casual, but not fast enough and too fair.
You must be thinking of the wrong card. Call of the Conclave is not a populate effect.
Maybe you misunderstood something I wrote? I never implied Call of the Conclave contained a populate effect, I referred to it as a low mana token gen. I said populate as a whole is a slow dynamic in general and in specific when compared to other green or what token mechanics (Knights/soldiers, elves, squirrels, etc).
Mirage King it comes down to this. As it stands, your deck is only as strong as your strongest token and only as long as you have a token on the battlefield. If you want to make a populate deck then by all means. If you want the populate deck to be semi competitive then keep in standard. But, if you want to play a token gen deck that's competitive then go for a tribal deck. Most tribal groups not only have more efficient token gen dynamics and better synergy effects.
Soldiers are a great example. They have potential for insane token gen (especially if they're red/white decks) and they have cards that really take advantage of that generation by giving things vigilance, first strike, stat bonuses, etc. Don't take this as me dissuading you. I'm not saying don't do populate, I'm just saying that populate is never going to be a fast mechanic of terribly competitive.
Because I had just made a comment about Call of the Conclave still being too slow (in relation to the populate dynamic). I assumed you were responding to me but looking looking back I see the poster made the comment as well. It's a simple misunderstanding.
This is true. Maybe I can go into a control white green with luminarch ascension. In any case the awakening zones are slower. T3 would be the soonest I could get a token. But the tokens provide chump blocks attackers w the buffs or free mana.
Cheating Worldspire Wurm or Armada Wurm into play can net you some big tokens quick. I also like the idea of using Mimic Vat to make tokens of big things. Gives you good populate targets.
Rhys the Redeemed should be in this deck.
I think that with all these enchantments you're using to back up your tokens, you should have a discard outlet to turn the unwanted cards into something else. Llanowar Mentor would be perfect. Doomed Traveler is a good chump blocker that makes you a token when it goes to the graveyard.
Do you think that there's enough [mana]G[/card] production from your lands to run Creakwood Liege?
Mobilization would be another great dump, and mixes pretty well with Elspeths that pump out tokens.
I also don't see any draw power, and I feel that every deck should have at least a Little bit of draw power. Harmonize is a decent one to use if you're running ramp to play it a turn or two sooner.

You might look at Windbrisk Heights, Eldrazi Spawn, and Descendant's Path to sneak into play a big Eldrazi. Also included in that might be Seance, to cheat those big guys into play and then to populate them.
