While I know this version isn't as competitive but I thought this version would be a bit more fun. Sure you can spam wurmcoils and win that way OR... you can throw down Grave Titans and ride them and your zombies to victory OR... you can slam down a Griselbrand and smile as you refill your hand OR... you can tap your massive pile of lands and laugh as you cast Rakdos's Return for >10 easily. Also, using Worst Fears is always a blast too.
Emrakul, The Aeons Torn - Our go to win con if the game gets long. Cast this, take an extra turn and win. Pretty self explanatory spaghetti monster strategy.
Play 1 and only 1.
Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre - When we can't get up to 13/15 mana to cast spaghetti monster, we can cast this instead. Play it and blow up something then bash face.
Play 1 and only 1.
Griselbrand - This guy is a bit harder to cast due to 4x black. With filters and Urborg though it shouldn't be too hard. Cast this, draw cards, attack and draw more cards. Repeat until opponent is dead or he scoops because of your CA.
Play 1 or 2 of.
Grave Titan - I included this card because I thought I'd try something our of the ordinary and I also had a thing for this card when it was in standard. It still does work in this deck as well. If he dies, oh well still got 2 2/2 zombies. His deathtouch makes attacking for your opponent hard as well. If this guy swings it's gonna be hard for you to lose.
Play 0-2 of.
Wurmcoil Engine - A mandatory beat stick for any tron deck. No reason to exclude it from here either. This card is bonkers.
Play 4 of.
The Spells and Permanents
Damnation - Blacks Wrath of God, gets past regeneration and is efficient.
Play 2-3 of.
Black Sun's Zenith - Another interesting inclusion I added. I added this mostly for it's shuffle ability. If aggro games get long then this will save us for we can just reuse it again and again. It's cost isn't too hard on us once we get tron going. If we can't kill them using this, then making their guys incredibly small also does the trick. Also gets past regeneration as well.
Play 0-1 of.
Go for the Throat/Doom blade - Our targeted removal for Twin pieces since wipes don't do the trick. Also helpful for sneaky snapcasters that threaten to kill us. For anything with flash really.
Play a 2/1 or 2/2 or 1/2 split.
Rakdos's Return - Half the reason for the red splash. This card is HILARIOUS to cast for 10 easily, if resolves can win games due to the raw damage we can do with it. Awesome for the attrition MUs.
Play 2 of.
Worst Fears - Mostly for the LOLZ. Can also be devastating if we do it at the a crucial turn for our opponent expecialy if we need to resolve something against a permission based MU.
Play 0-1 of.
Expedition Map - Helps us get our tron together, helps fetch urborg, or a bloodcrypt. Every tron deck needs a set of these.
Play 4 of.
Rakdos Signet/Terrarion/Chromatic Sphere - Our filters, helps us cast our double black costs or helps cast griselbrand or even rakdos's return. Most of these even cycle themselves for a card.
Play a 2/2/3 or 3/1/3 Split.
Our Planeswalkers
Karn Liberated - Our other win con. Helps remove annoying permanents and helps control our opponent's hand. Every tron deck should play a few of these.
Play 2-3 of.
Liliana Vess - A test card. Not as powerful as her 3 cmc counterpart but helps us tutor for an answer or a win con for next turn as well as forces our opponent to discard.
Play 0-1 of.
Our Mana Base
Swamps - Yes basic lands are needed, moving on.
Play 3-4 of.
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth - Helps cast most of our black spells, also enables easy casting for Griselbrand.
Play 3-4 of.
12 Tron Lands - Self explanatory.
Play all of them.
Eye of Ugin - Tutors our bombs once we get tron going. Mostly used for Emrakul and Wurmcoil. Helps us cast emrakrul for 13 instead of 15 as well.
Play 1 of.
Blood Crypt - We have a red splash so why not have some shock lands to help the splash?
Play 3-4 of.
Lavaclaw Reaches - A man land which we can dump our bajillion mana into!? Why yes please. I quite like overkill.
Play 1 of.
Ghost Quarters - Dealing with pesky annoying man lands and tron lands.
As I said before, I KNOW this is just an inferior tron deck. I wanted to however put a flair on the variant however. I still feel that this can put up a fight against most of the modern meta-game however. Feel free to comment with any ideas or suggestions you may have. Together, lets unleash the power of the dark tron...
Couple of things. Playing three Karns is probably going to be a really bad idea. You are not RG Tron and trying to assemble the lands as fast as possible. My guess is that you will be getting Tron online sometime around turns 6-7 (if you live that long) so until then Karn is going to be a dead card in your hand.
Also why not run some Graven Cairns, they will let you filter for the double red for Anger the Gods, and all of the black spells in your deck. I would suggest running Pyroclasm too.

I would be glad to run more filter lands but we don't have room for anymore, 4 Urborgs are a must, as well as the eye of ugin and we still need basic swamps...
The manabase just simply can't fit them. I would be glad to remove the blood crypts for the filters lands but the chances of us getting black to filter with are slim.

Maybe I'm missing something, but why in the world are you playing Terrarion? Chromatic Star and Sphere seem way better. For that matter, why are you playing Sphere over Star when Star is basically strictly better?

Star draws you a card when it goes to the graveyard. That means if it goes to the graveyard for reasons other than you sacrificing it for mana (such as another card destroying it), you will draw a card anyway. Chromatic Sphere will only draw you the card if you sacrifice it. Thus, if your opponent opts to destroy your Sphere, you get nothing. But if it's a Star instead of a Sphere, you get a card out of it.
The most likely time you'd want a Sphere over a Star is if your opponent has a Rest In Peace or Leyline of the Void in play, and who's going to bring those in against this deck?

I still think that playing 3 Karns is too many. Look at Mono U tron, they don't rush to assemble Tron and they don't play any Karns for that very reason. You can try to rush tron but you are not going to be getting turn 3 Karn's like RG Tron does. I think that two is probably even pushing it, but a better number. You want it to be a lategame topdeck that won't clogg up your hand with the same cards over and over.
Same thing for Urborg. Maybe search it up with the map so you don't draw 2 per game.
Also why is there no targeted discard at all? You are playing black, this is what black is goo at.

I agree, I'll lower the number to 2. There is 3 thoughtseizes in the deck. It'll be 4 when I add it in instead of the 3rd karn.

Ok I must have missed the Thougtseizes. I also noticed that you dropped the count of Lily too. I think that she could actually prove to be good as a way of finding the third Tron piece.
You are also not including Worst Fears anymore. I think that having a mindslaver effect could really benefit the deck, because when I play U Tron more times than not I just activate my mindslaver and can mess up the opponent enough that I can win in a turn or two after. This would make for the same kind of effect. I don't know if you actually played the deck with it, but I think that it would be worth including even as a 1 of if you are playing black and the tron lands.

2 Lilianas is a bit overkill I'd think. I tried worst fears but every time I played it it didn't do much. Also mindslaver is an artifact which can be recycled with Academy Ruins which we don't have access to.
I don't want to many BBB or BBBB spells in the deck. I even had to drop my Griselbrand count to 1 because it was dead in my hand at most times. So no on the sacrament.

Try to get to know the decks in Modern a bit better then. In the 100+ times I have used a mindslaver when playing Tron I have lost maybe 5-6 times after. If you konw the decks in Modern really well then you can really exploit their weaknesses. There are the odd times that they have nothing to do, but if that ever comes up then you are probably in a position to win anyways.
As for the Lily, think of it as not getting Tron right away, and using her as Expadition Maps 5-6. I'd guess 80% of the time you will have 5 mana sources and no Tron, so dropping her to fetch up the last piece is good. Just be careful because she doesn't protect herself, which brings me to my next point...
I think you need an auto 4 of Pyroclasm in the deck. Without a cheap board sweeper you are going to loose by the time you can cast Damnation or Black Sun's Zenith for 2. Have you played vs Melira Pod or Affinity or Hatebears or Infect or Boggles yet? Because for RG Tron those are horrible without the Pyroclasm. They also have O-stone which could fit well in here as a 1 of for the late game.

I thought that RG Tron had a heavily favorable Melira Pod matchup.
I thought that RG Tron had a heavily favorable Melira Pod matchup.
Uhh it does, but I said RG Tron without the Pyroclasms. Read it again. Using the Ostones isn't really enough because Pod has so many outs via it's combo. Pod and Chord are great ways of getting the combo assembled even if you happen to turn 3 exile their Finks or something. I Play Pod vs RG Tron all the time, and even though the matchup is weak, if the Tron plyer doesn't wipe the board multiple times then the pod player can get an out and win.
I was using RG as an example of a successful Tron deck, and it relies on the sweeper to survive.
Without further ado I give you...

MTGO/MTGA: Tyclone
My Primers ~ GWx Vizier Company ~ Knightfall ~ RG Eldrazi ~ Green's Sun's Zenith
More Brews ~ Modern Four Horsemen ~ Gitrog Dredge
I'll try to find room for the Worst Fears and 3 clasms then. I don't currently have a 2nd liliana however.
Modern:
BR Control
Grixis Bloo
EDH:
Food Chain Prossh
Land Wipe Maelstrom Wanderer
Selvala, Hearth of the Wilds Eldrazi
I thought that RG Tron had a heavily favorable Melira Pod matchup.
Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
I was using RG as an example of a successful Tron deck, and it relies on the sweeper to survive.

Really liking the deck concept. Flame Slash, Lightning Bolt, Pyroclasm, and Anger of the Gods are cards I'd consider to improve your aggro matchups.
