Wow man thank you! Yes I feel Melira is in our favor, but Jund is iffy. It really depends on the draws, but thankfully we can get some value back with Witness, oracle, and Fins, along with electrolyze and synergy with ruse.
If you think the deck was fun, wait until you play UWR Control and ROFLStomp them. Even better if you keep a 1 land+vial hand. The matchup is just so much in our favor....
Right now I'm testing Snapcaster in the list, over Oracle, after hearing over and over that people don't like it. So just to try it. The good thing is both oracle and Snaps are solid against jund... So we shall see. This is the list I'm on right now:
I also cut 1 Cryptic command to test Garruk Relentless because it constrains the mana, but I'm probably going to cut him back. We'll see how often he rots in my hand.
The tectonic edge I cut because it was screwing with my ability to cast most of my cards, and scapeshift/tron are not very prevalent right now anyways. if your metagame shows a lot of scapeshif though I would definitely keep it in or sb 1 or 2. Tec Edge is just Ineffective against tron anyways though....
Sweet! What does your sideboard plan look like against Jund? I wasn't sure what to side out to bring in the shackles. Do you bring in Spell Snare as well?
I like snapcaster, having come from a history of playing Eternal Command, haha. Let me know how it works in this shell! My main concern is the decrease of card draw without Oracle: it was really nice to be able to get through more of my deck with those.

Jund is tough to sideboard for. Usually on the play I cut the vials and a vendillion clique for the shackles and Firespouts, and on the draw I cut the rest of the vendillions and a coiling oracle for the snares.
That plan isn't very strong though, so I'm thinking of changing my sb plan, thought about splashing white off of one hallowed fountain to sb 4 Loxodon Smiters. Good thing is they are also very strong vs UWR Midrange (and control, though I don't think you need them)
The main thing I'm afraid of is not hitting my land droos in time. Snapcaster mage has been incredibly powerful, but I feel like I'm getting mana screwed more often. Still want to test more.
But I did cut the garruk to get back the command. That card is just so powerful, I always want to draw it after turn 4. whereas I really never want to be tapping out for garruk...

Thanks for the heads up on the sideboard plan! I was having issues figuring out when to side in Spell snares, hehe.
Smiter seems good! What would you cut from the sideboard for it?

Spell Snare also comes in against affinity, both play and draw, to deal with their OP 2 Drops. Most (if not all) of their powerful cards are 2cmc (plating ravager overseer)
Smiter is just a thought for now, but I think it would be like 1 or 2 firespout, 1 shackles, and maybe a spell snare...idk its tough.

Well this deck looks a little more promising than your 8Bob train wreck. I'll sleeve this up digitally and post some videos. I've always like Eternal Command this is a fairly interesting variation.
Would this not be better off in Bant? Voice of Resurgence and what not.
I don't believe that it would be. This deck is dedicated to the use of enters the battlefield creatures and while voice of resurgence is an excellent creature, the whole eternal ruse bit wouldn't mesh so well with him at all. The beats it provides are more than sufficient to get the job done as it stands.

I've been testing this deck for a while. 8bob is just janky fun. This is a seriously competitive deck.
Tom tried a bant list a few pages back. I think he liked it for path and Resto and the ease of casting finks.
OK I'll throw a verbatim list together and see what's what.
I'm going to be posting two new RUG lists online in a few days, after the IQ is done: My IQ list, and the current list that cuts coiling oracle to test snapcaster (and 1 mainboard forked bolt)

Here are the first two matches I played with it. So far its a pretty fun deck. The mana curve feels very smooth. Multiple soft locks are present. Multiple paths to victory are present. It's one of the most comfortable Eternal Command lists I've played. Usually Eternal Command pressures you to get to the end game as fast as possible, where as this deck lets you comfortably ride your bolts and Izzet charms until the end game develops naturally.
Why you don't play Snapcaster Mage? That card give you amazing CA and Yasooka played with it in Eternal Command. What do you think about this card?
Tinfoil Hat has actually been testing Snapcaster Mage in place of Coiling Oracle and will soon be updating the thread with that list. Thus far the main concern with the straight replacement has been hitting land drops consistently. However, Snapcaster's power has been apparent.
Yes, testing Snapcaster Mage now. I'm finding it super powerful, and I like it in the deck, but only 3, as I don't want them clogging up my hand (at least EWit can do a nice wood elves impression most of the time.), but the flash, and 1 cheaper cost makes it still very strong. I'm mainly testing to see the effect on my card flow and mana development without Coiling Oracle.

Post whatever list you want to see video replays of. I own all cards.
Thank you, Memory Lapse. I know we've had our (many) disagreements, as I feel we're both abrasive personalities (I know I am) but this really means a lot. I'm glad people are finally starting to give the deck a try, because it really is a powerful deck.
I've played 8-rack a bit, but I'll give it more of a try, out of respect.
Post your latest list and I will test with it. I hear coiling oracle gets the axe? This makes me sad, love that card.
Latest lists are up in the OP. The first list has an identical mainboard, but a different sideboard IIRC, and the one below it has the -4 oracle, -1 tec edge, +3 Snapcaster, +1 Forked bolt, +1 Mountain, and a couple sb changes.
Still testing the deck, I love the Oracle, but I wasn't sure what to cut and I didn't want to affect the curve too much. We'll see where it goes lol

I've played against Tinfoil when he was playing this deck, and I can confirm that it's actually a pretty strong deck, and gets the soft lock online much easier than eternal command. I hadn't realized snapcaster wasn't in the 75, I had always assumed it was a 2-3 of.
One thing I found that I hadn't really thought about when playing against this deck is that Ruse gets around a lot of removal effects. When playing against Eternal Command, you can bolt a witness in response to a cryptic command, preventing them from returning it to soft lock your opponent.
Ruse on the other hand gets around that since returning a creature is actually part of the cost of playing the card.

The additional cost part of the spell is indeed a HUGE boon for the strategy. I've had many players attempt to respond to a familiar's ruse by killing my eternal witness, and I explain to them, it doesn't work like that. Its part of the reason the soft lock is so strong.

Sorry about the double post, to those who care, but I thought I should say that I just won the Lantern IQ with the list in the OP. On the way to my victory I beat Naya Midrange 2-0, UB Ninjas 2-0, Kiki-Pod 2-1, Bant Midrange/Geist 2-0, and Jund 2-0.
OP will be updated with a video of the Finals match in just a moment.

IT DOES! We need losing videos, and they are somewhat difficult to come by in random cockatrice matches, whereas MTGO rando's at least care enough to be good hahaha
BTW anyone know how I can earn 600 bucks in the next week? I'll do anything legal.....

If you were here in Columbia MO, then yeah, it'd be pretty easy to get you hired somewhere. I work two jobs myself. I can't wait until I get out of grad school! Also, it's dishonest, and I hate suggesting it, but it may not be smart to tell folks you're moving if you're desperate for a job. I would at least make sure they get two weeks notice, though, when you do quit.
On this list, I watched some of dol's playing of it. Is it as weak to burn/rdw as I think it might be? I know you've got the finks maindeck, but I'm not sure about anything else, as something like scavenging ooze is really just a bear here since there would be few creatures to gain life off of.
The burn matchup definitely is affected by how many finks you can draw. Generally you can deal with the early aggression with bolts, and izzet charm usually a counterspell/"gain 3 life"...but if you can get Eternal Ruse on, they do have a tough time beating it, especially if you have other aggression to sort of out tempo them.
Overall I definitely think the matchup is in Burn's favor, but not so bad like affinity is. Like, 60/40
