OK so with the new ban list, this deck has to be more viable now! Slipknot how happy are you? I like UW...gives us Path to Exile, Ghostly Prison, Ethersworn Canonist, and whatever else I'm missing. I liked how black give us access to discard, more so than agent of bolas.

I am in brewing paradise. I would expect a lot of aggro, so I think UW would be the best bet. I'm not really a fan of ghostly quarters without mana disruption or a slew of blockers. Some spot removal and some mass removal should do good enough against aggro.

So what would the UW Tezzerator shell look like...what are auto includes? I'm still learning this deck. Basically I wanna do some more testing on lackey, and I also want to start picking up cards that I'm fairly certain I'm going to use.

I dont see how anyone is having issues with 12post. Ensnaring Bridge, Trickbind, Negate, and AEther Spellbomb are all efficent answers that should be in the deck anyways. On top of that Crucible + Ghost Quarter slows them down alot.

This deck is slightly weak to affinity so I want to get a few path to exile back in the main deck to help with that matchup.
Zoo should be fairly strong especially after game 1.
Splinter-twin will have a tough time with engineered explosives and counterspells, although I think I will need to find a more permanent solution to that deck. Pithing needle is decent, but not good enough.

I've been thinking about other ways to win. I really like batterskull because I can honestly think of one card that strait up kills it that could possibly see play..although it is a 4mana spell. It doesn't get exiled to path, and you can always return it with academy ruins in case it gets destroyed.

In regards to the Twin matchup, not sure it will be too relevant with the bannings. However, if it is, Torpor Orb looks like a good choice. It can stop both exarch and pestermite where needle only stops one

Didn't think about the card TBQH. It seems like a good idea. Unfortunately it is very limited in other match-ups.
I like Spellskite better for Twin. It blocks Nacatls as well and redirects Banefires as well as protects your artifacts.
I think spellskite might be the best answer to twin since it could bleed over into other match-ups well. It makes the burn match-up fantastic as long as you keep blue up and a counterspell handy.

Slipknot, without the thopter combo being legal, do you think Cryptic Command might be better than Gifts Ungiven here, or at least that Gifts maybe doesn't deserve 4 slots?
Well the purpose is to use it to set up certain synergies. 4 might be a little heavy handed on my behalf, but I would rather test at for and start dropping than start at 1-2 and start adding. Gifts still has uses though...
It helps set these up.
Cruciple of worlds + Ghost quarters = eventual mana lock
Day of judgment + wrath of god + noxious revival = tutor for wrath
EE + academy ruins = infinite creature kill for smaller creatures
I also want to work in batterskull to tutor for using academy ruins

I've read through all 9 pages and really like the look of the deck. What happens if they cast Memoricide for Tez though? Reoccur Pyrite Spellbomb over and over? Wouldn't an eggs deck be better at that?
I guess I'm UN-educated because I haven't played this deck personally but the plan is to wipe the board turn 4, stall somehow until you can build up a presence (of what?) and then drop a Tezzeret with any empty board again? So that requires multiple board wipes against aggro. What about control? They V Clique turn 3, then sit on counters for your Tezzeret.
I'm just curious of some normal game playthroughs If possible.

Well the version I was running (shell I posted a few pages back) also ran ethersworn canonist...which surprisingly does work. I pretty easily got my opponent playing 1 threat a turn which was so easy to deal with. With 2 academy ruins and the card advantage of thirst, it was pretty easy. I could discard an artifact and get it back later. When they are playing 1 threat a turn and u have explosives and shackles and removal, etc...it's not an issue. Being able to recur canonist was pretty clutch as well...I'd assume that's why slipknot wants batterskull...granted it's better at beating down but I think I'd prefer slowing my opponent down. Maybe a single colonnade wouldn't hurt.
I wasn't running expedition map or crucible, so maybe that's why he has academy as a 1 of.
I believe he has like 11 artifacts where I had more like 19-20. I don't know whose "right". But I definitely like having a bunch of them. It made thirst so powerful. When I say I, I mean the list I posted from the daily with my changes. I like aspects of both these decks.
O and I really liked ensnaring bridge. And I liked having -0 targets for tezz, tho they probably weren't necessary.

First off I'm running as few artifacts as possible in this build because the artifacts we have are generally to weak to build a deck around. I have been kicking around spellskite, but I will have to see what the meta looks like because I don't see it being to relevant any more.
1 academy ruin is just so I don't run so many colorless lands. Expedition map, tolaria west, and crucible of worlds sets up a gifts package for academy ruins, and also allows me to set up ghost quarter + crucible.
As for canonist I'm not totally sure that it is good enough for the meta that might not have as many combo decks, and vendilion clique is what I use in that spot just because of versatility. Batterskull is something that I have kicked around a lot, but I was kinda hoping that we would get chrome mox or sword of the meek off of the ban list.
Ensnaring bridge might come in against zoo, although I believe just using removal against them is slightly better. I believe this deck could be in a very good position in this meta if zoo takes over. Affinity is a touch more difficult though.

I think Clique will do well in this deck as likely the most consistent win condition present. I think you need at least two other ways to wrap up games other than tezzeret though, so Clique and... ? Shackles actually does it against any deck trying to kill you with creatures, so maybe that is the answer. You can sid in a second one against non creature decks.

Yeah gifts is a card that requires a lot of patience and skill. I have been using it for years so I have gotten a good hold on it. Essentially you get what you want, and anytime you have only 3 cards you want put a 4th card in there that you want to put in your graveyard I'll call these wildcards.
1. Wrath package: Wrath, day of judgment, noxious revival, wildcard
2. Recursion Package: tolaria west, Expedition map, Crucible of worlds, EE(or any other artifact or ghost quarter)
Wild cards can essentially be anything that you can/want to recur just make sure that you don't get them stuck in the graveyard by putting all of your searchers in jeopardy. Gifts Ungiven also make a great wild card because your opponent will essentially never give it to you even if that is the best play.

Cryptic command is another casualty of the ban list. 4cmc cards in control decks just aren't good enough without chrome mox to power them out a turn early. Every expensive card in your deck must be something that is going to win you the game, or radically change the board state.
As for blade splicer....why? Vendilion clique should be the fist creature considered then possibly trinket mage after that. I don't think I would run a non-artifact creature beyond those two.

The Rav block signets can power it out a turn early. It's no chrome mox lol, but just throwing that out there.

Well the card has no general synergy with the deck as far as actual artifacts go, however the 3/3 token was a personal positive thought for the pressure of 3 power earlygame without the restrictions of the legendary ruling as was the case on vendillion clique who just doesnt seem to be a go-to creature right now due to what seems like the current slew of decks not having enough cards worth taking out of their hand.
I hadnt tested with Blade Splicer yet but it just seemed like an option that produced a solid creature. Ive been using trinket mage to minor successes but I figured Id see the general response to the idea before I tested it seriously. I do like the idea of 2 bodies for the cost of 1 card against aggro decks though, the extra 1/1 could help.
