Tonight I decided to try my hand at a Vraska based control deck, and there is just so much that I want to put in, but surprisingly enough this was kinda effective.
It is most certainly a rogue deck, and it really depends on Vraska, but it can protect her pretty well. Getting a turn zero Leyline is just fantastic against Jund, and from there it is a matter of who can draw and not have to discard more removal than the other. Dauntless Escort does it's job well but ends up eating removal a ton.
I know it looks casual, but it is better than it looks. I am wondering if anyone can provide some suggestions that might boost my dependability.
Maybe a way to give assasin token trample, to ensure the win, maybe rancor. I agree with path to exile over darkblast. Also treetop village might be a good addition, lives through wrath effects. I run a pretty similar list but BUG, i like vraska alot and i feel like she is often underestimated. Best of luck with the deck!
Im sorry but i dont understand why u r runn escort u have so lil amount of creatures
To protect the assassins once they come in to play. It also allows me to sweep with a wrath effect and then swing for the win.
Basically, there are four big issues that you need to address with a deck based around Vraska:
1) You need to get it out fast, which is why the deck has 6 mana dorks.
2) Protect Vraska, who protects herself pretty well from creatures, but Leyline saves her from burn.
3) Protect the Assassin Tokens untill they can attack
4) Make sure that at least one Assassins can swing for the face. My removal is pretty dense for just this reason. Also Rogue's Passage can do the job at a reasonable price.
Path To Exile vs Dismember: In many ways you are right, but until I know how well I can keep my opponent impotent I do not want to be handing out land. I guess if I can get the control portion consistent enough then PtE will get another look.
Re- Contagion Engine: I have never felt that any of the proliferate cards were efficient enough for a competitive deck. Now, this deck certainly at the far edge of competitive at the moment, but I would like to see how close I can get it. Honestly I wish it would work.
Contagian engine is your best bet here. Its amazing board wipe super pw ramp. I use it ina tron deck, but I can play it and use it in the same turn. But I would try it if I was you. Its your only hope.
You could try Rootborn Defenses instead of Dauntless Escort, but both have their pros and cons.
Defenses is a good trick, and your opponent has a harder time playing around it, unlike the Escort. Rootborn Defenses also gives you another assasin, but it doesn't do anything by itself. Another con for Defenses would be, that you have to keep mana up, and can't play it in advance.
How do you win if you don't draw vraska? You have no way to tutor for her, no card draw or filtering.
That is most certainly big weakness of the deck. I do have card draw, however, in the form of Bob x3 that I never actually put on the deck list (I thought that looked wrong) that may go up to x4. I would be in a much better place if I could splash blue for Telling Time, Gifts Ungiven + Eternal Witness, or even Supply // Demand, but I just don't like that it spreads me too thin.
Perhaps, if colors are not an issue, you could try fitting some Glissa, the Traitor in to work alongside Engineered Explosives for recursion of it and a great beater/defender in itself. She's also quite likely to eat removal, protecting your tokens.
You could use Glittering Wish to get a Vraska from the Sideboard. That way, you would kinda play like 7 Vraskas.

Mainproblem is, that it is a bit slow. But besides giving you access to your win condition it also gives great utility.
