Hey i just starting to get my card pool to modern and i am about to order Cryptic Command online , is it ok if i order only 3 and not 4?
i mean is most decks playing 4? its kinda of a expensive card can i get by on ordering only 3?
Look at Mtg Goldfish's Metagame page. There you can see decks lists for the most popular decks. Most decks will run 3 commands. Some lists like Blue Moon, or Mono-Blue Delver, Mono-U Control will run 4. I mention those because they're very fun, but they're pretty niche. I'd suggest grabbing 3, if it were me because even if a list is running all 4, you can probably get away with 3 for a while.

Getting them later is a pain and you can always find someone to trade them off in place of cash for the next thing that catches your eye. Worst case scenario is you run a copy in your interactive trade binder EDH deck.
I use the following when I ask myself how many copies of a spell I should run.
4 of: Expect to see 2 of them in your hand more often than not
3 of: A comfortable Spot if you'd like to draw one but not two
2 of: If you want to be cool with your 3/2 or 2/2 split of something.
1 of: Great if you can tutor it, otherwise it acts as the 5th copy of something

I main two in my Jeskai Midrange deck with an extra copy in the side.
