It's not a "fun" card, and I can understand why they don't want it in Standard,
but if it were legal in Modern, would it even be used in competitive decks?
I'm trying to think of a Modern-playable card which completely breaks Stasis in a competitive environment,
but the closest thing I can think of are PWs like Garruk Wildspeaker, Tezzeret the Seeker, and Ral Zarek,
none of which seem overbearing (and only Ral Zarek has an ultimate worth building to in a Stasis deck).
Sun Titan has a cute interaction, but it isn't worth much without an instant sac outlet for Enchantments,
which is not something found on any Modern-playable I know of- Faith Healer or Claws of Gix would be nice in that regard
EDIT: just noticed Claws are in TSP,
but I'm not exactly convinced Claws + Stasis + Titan = instant, unanswerable win-
Enchantment hate is quite rampant, and Stasis seems too fragile to really do the work.
So what say the more experienced Modern players?
I know this card is reviled, and with fairly good reason,
but I'm curious why it would be "too good" to print in Modern
(ie- cards it would combine with to make an overly powerful deck).
Thoughts?

I don't think that it would be too powerful for Modern. They just don't print lock pieces like they used to, which suggest that they don't like them. When you think about it: how many lock pieces have they printed in the last 5 years? Sphere of Safety is the only one I can think of if you don't include jank like Martial Law and Descent into Madness.
I think it will take quite a while before we see cards like Moat, Humility or even Stasis again.
You played JESUS?!?! I heard none of his guys stay in the graveyard, and once you think you have him beat he ALWAYS comes back to win within three turns. I like...WORSHIP him.

I love it.
Most people don't.
