Recently I had a very unpleasant interaction with the moderation of this forum. I am not here to complain about it, but rather share my experience and hope to avoid others falling into similar situations. I don't really hold the moderation of the forum personally responsible as it does not seem to be a personal matter.
Chronology of events:
1)I start working on a primer in a word document at home.
2)Another individual starts a deck thread about a similar concept
3)I post the initial sections of the primer, and inform the deck thread of it's creation and offer to join forces.
4)After being rebuffed by the deck thread creator, I am informed by the moderation that my primer is a duplication of a deck thread and should be locked.
I think it behooves us to ask for an established practice on creating primers. Without one, an individual is vulnerable to have their work negated and locked because it is too similar to a deck thread. The moderation informed me that there is no set process, so there was no way for one to avoid situations like this. Instead, the right of primer creation is handed to whoever posts the first deck thread.
Therefore I recommend adding a sticky thread to the modern forum for all the primers so that if someone starts working on one, it can be reserved so as to not have the work negated.
Thanks for the consideration.

That's the way it goes sometimes. If you are the most popular you get to have your thread in the spotlight. Take the recent Collected Company primer for example:
- Me and Lectrys originally talked about making the thread. I said he could make the thread and if it got really popular I would make a primer for it.
- Both Lectrys and Kukosho of Lorwyn made threads, Lectry's (made one first) was similar to the lists of the top performing lists right now but KoL's thread was far from competitive at the beginning.
- Nevertheless KoL's thread took off with much more popularity and Lectrys died out.
- Now I took over KoL's thread and made a primer for it.
So it all worked out for me in the end but two other people are unhappy for various reasons I guess.. That's just the way it happens sometime.
Why not PM the guy and see if he wanted to make a primer first?

I just was left with a sour impression that I feel we can avoid for others.
