Hello all! A friend and I just started a new podcast about Modern called "Turn 1 Thoughtseize".
We will be covering decks, metagame stats and analysis, sideboarding strategy and more! Our first two episodes have been posted, #3 will go up on Friday (2/6). Generally Spike content is at the top of the show and it gets more Johnny/Timmy toward the end because we still like to talk about fun stuff. Budget is discussed only in terms of relevance (good pickups, undervalued cards, staples to look out for) as opposed to "what is the best cheap Goyf replacement" because no one wants to listen to that.
Episode 3 we will be talking about the why and how of the Spike mentality, tournament results, our local meta and how it impacts our sideboard choices, MTGO stats and strategy, Tier 1 deck reviews and decks we are working on.
We welcome all feedback as we try to make this into something both enjoyable and valuable for Modern players.
First 2 episodes were great. Looking forward to more from you guys. You guys have pretty good on mic chemistry and are enjoyable to listen to so I'm curious how this show will progress At any rate keep up the great work.
I wanted to let you guys know that I love your cast. Please get episode 5 up as soon as possible

Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.
Strap in for our longest episode yet, but with so many viable sideboard decisions to be made in modern, it is not something we can just glaze over.
We talk about correct sideboard construction and a ton of silver bullet cards for your consideration. We also go over all the problems Pros are having with the format.
Lastly, we talk about Wilted Junk, Infect, Death Cloud and Boros Hatebears.
Episode 6 - "El Potro" is up! I did an interview with Ethan Fleischer of Magic R&D at PAX East this past weekend to chat about Modern. We get to talk about MTG getting more creature based, some of his own design experience, the CMC philosphy on cetain kinds of spells and the magical day after tomorrow when Damnation finally gets reprinted.
We then go over the current metagame and why you should play Gifts Ungiven in your twin deck.
Thanks for making this podcast, it's really enjoyable to listen to and every informative of some areas of modern I was unsure of. Can you please post your Mardu Tokens list on your tapped out page though? I'm so keen to see how you've went about it : D
Been listening to this more or less since it came out. Really cool, even if you're talking way above my level of current competition.

Hey, I only just started on this forum but super awesome to hear about your success with the deck. If anything (I hope I'm not too late) don't buy the hurkyl's recall online, they are very expensive and I've found pyroclasm and engineered explosives way better than them in the board. Thanks for listening to the pod cast, if you have any suggestions please let us know.

hi just wanted to post and stop by and say that I have listened to every episode in about 1 weeks time if not less, used it on my drives during work. I love the show and your guys insights I do feel it has helped me a lot already just by thinking about things you guys have talked about, even if I haven't had time to put all of into play yet, still great help.
Thanks again and keep posting I need more to listen to

I also introduce the Brewer's Challenge feature where we (and later maybe you?) pick a card or mechanic and try to build an FNM playable deck around it. First up is Wither! Here's the deck: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/t1t-brewers-challenge-wither-feat-t1t-ep-6/
