Cryptic Command when I first saw that card I thought that it couldn't me remotely playable. 4 mana to counter a spell? You are gonna leave up 4 mana on turn 4 and so forth? What are possibly worth countering for 4 mana?
Needless to say after playing with the card I quickly realized that it's insane. Almost like resolving a Jace, the Mind Sculptor.
You played JESUS?!?! I heard none of his guys stay in the graveyard, and once you think you have him beat he ALWAYS comes back to win within three turns. I like...WORSHIP him.
My favorite card at the moment will probably be Thundermaw hellkite for playing purpose but I will say I love Isperia Supreme Jude and Cryptic command alot as well.
1. Snapcaster Mage - I think it's my favourite card of all time, but I'm not sure about specifically geared towards modern.
2. Engineered Explosives - So versatile and good against almost every deck
3. Chalice of the Void - No one expects it, it shuts down a LOT of decks.

Current Decks:
Modern
Modern Warp / UR Control / UR Storm / Naya Breachshift / ElectroBalance
Legacy
Solidarity / Lands / Sneak and Show / Grixis Delver / Reanimator / Belcher / Storm / Dredge
All three of its modes are great. The counterspell mode perfectly hits unwanted spells early game. There are plenty of creatures within 2 toughness that are played to make great use of the damage mode. The looting mode helps dig for answers and combo pieces.
What's not to like? Sweet art, it's basically a Stone Rain on a stick and you'd be surprised how often it gets extra beats in before you need to sacrifice it.

My Modern decks: B/R/G Living End G/R/B G/R Tron R/G U/W/G/R Gargageddon R/G/W/U R/W/G Naya Burn G/W/R
Wurmcoil Engine because its a amazing six drop and leaves tokens when it dies. Also, Vampire Nighthawk as it is my favorite black three drop hands down. (As you can see I like cards with many effects)

Snapcaster Mage might be my favorite. I have gotten so much use out of him in Twin. So much value!
However, Life from the Loam (because it is an insane engine), and Gifts Ungiven(because of the wacky packages you can get) are both VERY high on my list as well.

It's got to be Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas, for me. It just oozes flavour AND it is such a complete planeswalker! Card advantage? Check. Ways to protect himself? Check (Darksteel Citadel being the obvious tech). WIN CONDITION on -4 available the very next turn after Tezz came into play? Check. Even if you're loosing, his ultimate for non-lethal swings the game around so HUGELY. Just waiting for wizard to print the artifact that will break him for his deck to climb up to tier one

I'm always a fan of Junk colors, and Bob is such an amazing card advantage engine.
Whether people think he's too strong or balanced, I think that at 2/1 he is easy to kill and doesn't threaten to kill your opponent too quickly.
His card advantage over time at the obvious risk of paying your own life is a fun mechanic that trades life for drawing extra cards. Both players have to think about killing/protecting Bob as he threatens to kill his owner.
He's pretty bad against aggro decks but sometimes you just have to play him and risk that you don't die.

I love spot removal. Decay is one of the most efficient and flexible pieces of removal ever printed.
