At: 180 man PTQ
ME: U/G Infect
Opponent: top20 ranked SCG grinder on Melira Pod.
Me: 1 life
Him: 3 life, 2 infect
Me: cards in hand - might of old krosa, dismember, land
Cards in play: Bunch of tapped lands + pendlehaven and blighted agent
Him: multiple birds of paradise, noble hierarch, and voice with a -1/-1 counter. Its his turn. He thoughtseizes, going to 1, taking my pump spell. He attacks... with the voice. It becomes a 2/2, so i block + pendlehaven. Why am I still alive? He then casts pod... and pods a birds into.... (drum roll please) MELIRA!!!!
Here's one that happened a while back at a Modern tournament. I was playing UW Tron with Mindslaver Lock and he was playing some Naya homebrew deck. We're in game 1.
I cast Mindslaver with enough mana for the combo and activate Mindslaver, taking his turn. I pass the turn, not asking if he will concede because I have other plans. I get the OK to take his turn.
Immediately I say "I would like to look at your sideboard". My opponent looks at me a little confused, "uhh, what?". Again, another snap reaction from me saying "Yes, I can look at your sideboard with it, but since you're not sure we can clarify this. Judge!". The judge walks over, who's a good friend of mine. I know he knows the ruling for Mindslaver and their sideboard, since I made a point to remind him in-case this happened. He walks over and agrees with me.
My opponent hands me his sideboard, reluctantly. I proceed to write down every card, even needing to read some of them (as it was a homebrew I was unaware of). I hand him back his sideboard.
I then proceed to complete his turn, tapping his lands and passing. At the end of his turn I put Mindslaver back on top of my deck to repeat. He concedes to me on the spot, recognizing the infinite combo.
If I ever play U-Tron or WU Tron I'll keep this is mind.
A week ago I was playing in a Modern event at my LGS. I was playing Blue Moon and was playing against an 8-year old kid playing Burn. The kid's dad came over after his match was over and kept telling him what to do (I know that that is illegal but I was confident in my chances since I had a bunch of counterspells in hand and a Keranos in play). He told him to play 2 Searing Blazes against me. The kid pointed out that I had no creatures in play. The dad argued that it was allowed and the kid suggested that we call a judge. The dad was wrong and it was amusing seeing a little kid know more about magic than his dad.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
