Thanks for your reply! For what reason Crumble to Dust is needed? Gx Tron is surely way more popular than U Tron, and against the Mirror and Eldrazi it seems not very effective. Or am I missing something?
Tried out an interesting sideboard card out last night for Weekday modern. 2 Walking Ballista.
Walking Ballista
Cost - XX
Walking Ballista enters the battlefield with X +1/+1 counters on it.
4: Put a +1/+1 counter on Walking Ballista.
Remove a +1/+1 counter from Walking Ballista: It deals 1 damage to target creature or player.
Its seeing some loose play in EldraziTron lists and I thought it would fit well here for some of the same reasons. I threw it in as an additional threat to infect and affinity, but it fits well on our early curve and has value late game. I think you're winning these games when you can find ways to 2-for-1 while simultaneously keeping manlands in check. WB looks like it could probably do that.
I didn't see it in my game vs infect, but it did win my game vs Dredge (guy has always played dredge) once my Valakuts and Titans were Surgically Extracted out of my deck. I should be able to get some meaningful testing in with it against Infect, so I'll keep the thread updated.
It seems alright in matchups like Affinity, Death's Shadow, Zoo, Burn, and Dredge. Maybe some other applications as well. I am considering trying it, but if using it against dredge, I would need to replace Grafdigger's cage. Additionally, since we cannot BTL into Madcap, you would probably need at least 2 to make it worth while.

Round 1 vs. Grixis Control: 2:1
He took game 1 off many horrible top decks by me. Had 8 lands (none of which were valakut) in play and just needed either Scapeshift, Prime Time or Summoner's pact to pull the trigger. Drew ramp/lands 5 turns in a row. Got beat down from 17 to 0 life by a creeping tar pit.
Games 2 and 3 I sided in Thrun which was a superstar. Beat him down with it, Titan for the rest. Game 3 saw a valakut destroyed by Fulminator. He was also able to terminate + surgically extract my Titans. Thrun and Baloth did the dirty work before I drew a Scapeshift.
Round 2 vs. Cheerios: 2:0
Cheerios is so easy for Titanshift to beat. Game 1 depends on whether you draw lightning bolt. Games 2 and 3 depend on whether you have lightning bolt, sudden shock or engineered explosives. So I mulliganed for those and won (off a mulligan to 5 even)
Round 3 v.s UW Control: 2:1
Game 1 I lost after being stuck on 5 lands. As usual, I sided in Thrun which was a huge problem for him. UW control just isn't very good against Titanshift because we have bolts for spell quellers and get the free cast off them after that. Pretty standard ramp -> scapeshift/titan for the wins in Games 2 and 3.
Not quite a Scapeshift deck, but similar enough. Please read trough and I hope that you might be able to give me some help.
So I recently got my hands of a playset of Koth of the Hammer and Ajani Vengeant and wanted to make a deck with them. First I had RW control in mind but thought that turn 4 perhaps was a little slow in modern. Then I remembered the Scapeshift ramp deck, turn 3 is fine, and more mountains for Koths ultimate. Perfect!
The thing is that I've never played this particular deck before. I had hoped for some pointers from this eminent community with this deck. Please bear in mind that I don't have lots of cash to spend on new cards (on parental leave atm), but suggestions on what to aquire in time is always welcome. I've read the primer and added cards that I do own that's the core of this deck.
First time playing titanshift last night (I had been playing breach titan and BTL Scapeshift before) and went 3-0-1 (4-0 since we split in the last round but when we played for the extra pack, I won).
2-0 White Weenie (not DnT)
2-1 Gw Tron
2-1 Living End
2-1 Merfolk
I had a pretty standard list with a "goofy" sideboard. I will post a list later and I can do a quick report if anyone is interested.
The deck felt very strong and consistent all night (outside of the Tron match where we both mulliganed in each game to 5 or 6 card). I will probably make some small adjustments, but I like this deck going forward.

I'll throw my two cents in. Manabase looks fine, could maybe use an extra white source so that you consistently hit it every game (+1 Plains, -1 Cinder Glade). This would require no other adjustments, i.e. fetches, since you have plenty of ways to fetch basics. 15 Mountains is plenty for a Valakut deck, you can probably safety play with 12-13, which can get a feel for once you start playing with it.
One card that looks like it would be decent in this deck is Oath of Nissa, cutting your 4 Explore. Turn 3 is your sweet spot in this deck, where you want to cast your walkers a turn early, and you're pretty stocked on Turn 2 ramp spells. Pure RG Scapeshift decks have 18ish 2 mana ramp spells because we are wanting to play those on turn 3 as well. You don't necessarily have to here. Oath would set you up for some good plays where you could go T1 Oath, T2 Ramp, T3 Walker or T1 Ramp, T2 Ramp, T3 Oath->Walker. It would also do a good job of keeping your hand filled of payoffs. I only mention cutting Explore because it fits better in the Scapeshift plan and isn't that great in the RG Breach deck (I think it has to do with the number of Valakuts we play), and this deck reminds me of that.
Other than that, learn your Scapeshift/Valakut math and you should have a decent deck.
Don't know if you've worked out the SB yet but some cheap cards I'd suggest: Blessed Alliance (you may need 1 more Foundry, but you might be fine) for your Burn matchup. Obstinate Baloth is a SB staple for Valakut decks, which have picked up in price recently. I can't think of a good substitute here, but just add some more threats (e.g. Inferno Titan). Then you want some enchantment removal. Your deck looks pretty resilient to Leyline of Sanctity, so its really Blood Moon you worry about. Nature's Claim is the go-to, but if you aren't worried about Leyline then Natural State is an option (to negate the lifegain when you bring it in vs Affinity mainly). The rest is filler based on what you end up needed.
Oath is an interesting card, helps digging for what I want and ease the casting of splashed Planeswalkers. The plan was mainly to either get a Titan out or Koth. So the more lands in play the better. And I've always loved land ramp cards. I'll see about getting one or two copies.
How much defense is needed for a Valakut deck? This one is more of a grinding deck than a combo?
So modern nexus wasnt exactly clear, since they are lumping breach and shift togather now on their rankings, but the combined results of these two make a tier 1 stats, so thats where were at right now
I like this change on Nexus' part to group the two decks together for meta representation. If you're playing something else, you're gonna plan against it in pretty the same way so its better to have a more accurate representation of how much Valakut is running around.
@Louie, you'll find that the cards that are good against you, you can't do much about (i.e Slaughter Games). The deck is pretty grindy in that you have some level of inevitability with Valakut, so you can be favored in games that grind out.
So, my only critique of the "stock" list I have been running is that I seem to draw Scapeshift more frequently than i want to.
Thoughts on going to 3 Scapeshift rather than 4? If so, what do I replace it with? Baloth? Another Threat? Ramp?
I haven't had that problem myself, but if I had to go down to 3 Scapeshifts I'll replace the one copy with a Baloth or even Thrun, which has been an allstar for me against all types of decks. He blocks forever, is uncounterable and is a PITA to get rid of. The other day I had a grixis control opponent face palm after I cast it
Has anyone else dropped KHE? it was great in my starting hand but it felt terrible to draw it at just about any other point in the game. I lost a super close game 3 to affinity when I top decked it with an active valakut and literally anything else would have won the game, so I decided to try the deck without it and I've been doing pretty fine so far.
Also my old store closed, so I'm going to have to find some new stomping grounds soon enough. I'm trying to get a very "general" sideboard down for a wide range of decks until I figure out what's popular at wherever I end up
I am not playing Chalice and I have not dropped Khalni. Honestly the list I have been going with for the past few months from the old meta has still been doing great for me, so I am not switching. If it isn't broke, why fix it?

Rd3 vs Burn 2-1
Rd4 vs Sun and Moon 2-1
My current list is the standard one with 4 bolt 2 anger main.

1 Engineered Explosives
2 Relic of Progenitus
1 Anger of the Gods

So without further ado, here's the deck:
4 Koth of the Hammer
3 Ajani Vengeant
1 Nahiri, the Harbinger
Creatures (8)
4 Sakura-Tribe Elder
4 Primeval Titan
Instant and Sorceries (18)
4 Search for Tomorrow
4 Lightning Bolt
2 Farseek
4 Explore
3 Anger of the Gods
1 capeshift
4 Wooded Foothills
2 Windswept Heath
1 Sacred Foundry
4 Cinder Glade
4 Stomping Ground
2 Forest
6 Mountain
3 Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle
I got them at the same time and just wanted to play with them, y'know. I might be able to trade for one or two Nahiri's, maybe a Emrakul as well. =)
Sideboard isn't thought out yet, but I planned for some Wear // Tears, Crumble to Dust and maybe a Terminus or something.
What about the land based? If I want to play Naya, how many Sacred Foundry should be in the deck? Is one plus a basic plains enough?
