So I've been playing the updated version that has been doing well on modo.
I've played 4 leagues so far, 4-1 2x 3-2 once 2-3 once. In my losses there were definite mistakes made on my part either in mulligan/play decisions.
I keep finding myself wanting something else to find with traverse late game. The deck in its current form doesn't have any haste dudes which isn't right. I just can't seem to find the right answer.
I went too deep and tried mournwillow in the haste spot. It did fine, letting guys get through lingering souls and rando small creatures. Forgot that it doesn't actually stop snapcaster blocks until I cast it the first time and saw the etb trigger.
The deck is very powerful even without the BI plan. Traverse gives it legs late game, but I'm missing something to find for card advantage. Was thinking about a tasigur even though it nonbos with delirium and goyfs.
I've seen other lists play bitterblossom but I just feel like there gotta be something better.
http://www.mtgtop8.com/event?e=14538&d=287198&f=MO I'm playing that list but -1 decay, +1 lotv main. Sideboard has been some numbers of
Brutality
Fulminator
New 3 drop liliana
2 drop goblin that blows up artifacts
Grudge
Shreikmaw
Bog
Ooze
Mournwillow
If anyone is interested in watching I may record some league matches.
i played it 2 times and did 3-1 both of them, losing agaisnt 8rack and esper control
there are also 2 copies of the deck at the recent mocs top8, i think its very real. for those still doubtfull, the deck definately has the same vibe of the old version, you change the small creatures for interaction but if you liked the death shadow zoo deck you will like the new version too
im playing with 1 bedlam reveler in the side, and its great vs grindy matchups
i like collective brutality a lot but i think its a bit weak in the main so i moved them to the side and in order to maintain the sorcery count for delirium im trying rise//fall and whispers of emrakul, so far ive casted fall 4 times and only once discarded 2 cards
I don't know about having gnarlwood dryad in in the sideboard. I would rather run Pia and Kiran instead as in grindy matchups this deck hits 4 mana fairly consistently (traverse helps with this).

I agree Collective Brutality can be a little lackluster in the main. I'm still playing one given it's so versatile and helps turn on Delirium in this deck, but I could easily see playing zero.
How has Whispers of Emrakul been for you? I was playing two over the weekend and it was performing well for me. I've found this deck can consistently turn on Delirium by turn three, but turn two still happens around half the time. I like how it's a cheap two-for-one that helps improve the deck's matchup against Control.
I don't know about having gnarlwood dryad in in the sideboard. I would rather run Pia and Kiran instead as in grindy matchups this deck hits 4 mana fairly consistently (traverse helps with this).
It looks like this list wanted more removal, and cut a Dismember plus two Decays. I'd personally play one Dismember before any Pushes, but the Decay v. Push thing is a little hard to evaluate. Obviously Jund Mid prefers Decay for its versatility, but this deck is much more concerned with mana efficiency. Could just be a question of metagames.
You and the above post bring up a good question about value cards in the sideboard. What are you guys all on? These are a few of the non-staples I've seen.
Bitterblossom: Gives you the potential for 8/9 Goyfs, and has wide applications. It is a little slow however, and can't be Traverse'd up. Tireless Tracker: The common line is to cast Tracker with a land drop available. Fetch, crack generates two Clues if the opponent lacks instant speed removal. There are two big issues with Tracker though: you're bringing in a fragile creature primarily against decks with lots of removal, and this deck has a low land count (makes triggering Landfall and cracking Clues harder). Shriekmaw: Shriekmaw is a pretty versatile card overall. It's a tutorable Terror with Traverse, it helps turn on Delirium if you draw it in your opener by adding a creature to the yard, and it gives the deck some nice, two-for-one potential with K Command and just hardcasting it lategame. Evoke, K Command, hardcast it, is a line I find myself often making with it. Bedlam Reveler: I've only seen this in Blue Traverse decks, but it has a high ceiling of Ancestral Recall stapled to Tarmogoyf. The floor is pretty bad however in a deck with less than 25 spells. Pia and Kiran Nalaar: A common card to see in regular Jund, P&K is powerful against everything from Affinity, to Midrange and Control. Four mana is a lot, so it's rare you'll Traverse + cast in the same turn, but 12 cantrips mean it's generally always castable in games you bring it in. The activated ability is less threatening than normal also because of the land count. Huntmaster of the Fells: Huntmaster is another Jund Midrange card, and shares a lot in common with P&K. Huntmaster tends to be better against Burn and Lantern, while P&K is better against Affinity and removal overall. Huntmaster does have a higher ceiling with the ability to transform over and over, and doesn't require any mana investment to boot.
havent tryed whispers yet, but since we get to delirium turn 3 prety easly i can see it being great. i wanted to try rise//fall first since it wasnt clear to me if it was better. but thinking about it its not very good, if they have 4 cards in hand and one of them is a land you have a 50% chance of dicarding 2 cards, and thats to low for such a common scenario
in regards to value cards in the sideboard im playing 2 bitterblossom, 2 liliana the last hope and 1 bedlam reveler
the first 2 are mostly against lingering souls, but you can also use them in a lot of situations, the deck has few big creatures so its weak against swarm strategies like affinity, elves, lingering souls, etc. these 2 cards are great against those and also great vs removal decks, infect etc. also bitterblossom attacks from a very different angle than goyf and shadow and thats great vs answers decks, but it is indeed slow so i wouldnt consider it a lock
i did not have many problems casting reveler, you put him in against slow decks and want to cast him empty handed and by that time the graveyard should have 5-6 spells, but i might have been lucky without noticing
Again I would request that if you want to discuss the 'new' version of the deck to make a new thread. There is so little in common between this thing that I am calling 'Baby Jund' and Death's shadow zoo that discussing it here is not helpful.
On the topic at hand; I've been running through the current t1 and preboard we are doing alright, I need to compile my results but abzan is about 50/50, jund is 60/40, burn is 50/50, bantdrazi is still awful but preboard is actually better now, they are tuned for more ramp and slower games, affinity is 60/40, tron is still an easy win. The most recent tweak ive made is -1 thoughtseize and +1 wooded foothills, up to 13 fetches and the 5 shocks. The deck was getting mana screwed a bit too often.
I've been testing this list: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/557944#paper
I have to say, I really miss the explosive turn 2s. I miss Swiftspear + Mutagenic more than anything.
To be fair, 7 1cmc discard spells feels really awesome, and the option of landing a Lili in Death's Shadow just feels unfair. Also the amount of removal is nutty compared to our previous 2 Bolts.
Kithas is right thought, this feels like a zany version of Jund with a weird combination of toolboxing and reach. I looked at it skeptically at first but I think there's merit to it. I guess it's also been doing some work on mtgo (which I don't play).
Really missing those Probes. Would have rathered a Become Immense ban. Thanks WOTC.

Kithas can you share your current list?
I've been playing that Jund list too, but without Lilianas and slightly more aggressive. It's a very funny and strong deck. Not seen any unwinnable MU's until yet. Even burn feels not that bad with so many cheap interaction and access to basic lands. With some grindy cards out of the board, the deck can even win a long fight if needed.
Last FNM i went 3-1, beating Amulet Bloom, Cheerios, and Merfolk loosing only to 8whack in the last round.
The deck can still win on Turn 3 with good draws but the most time i've spent the first 2-3 turns disrupting my opponent and setting up a t4-5 kill.
Is anyone interested in making a primer for the "new" build?
I'm still testing out the Zooish approach too, maybe running more burn spells (Bolt, Tribal Flames in 4-5c lists etc. as additional Reach/Removal) could be a way to close out games faster? You would still have a better Combo MU than traditional Zoo because of Thoughtseize and sideboard Inquisition of Kozilek.
I will post about the Jund version because I don't see any other topic (maybee we should create one). I like this version too. Im playing Flayer over Goyf and I like it ! The advantage of controling my draw is huge.
im also interested in the new version, played a ton of shadow zoo but without probe its not the same. this shadow jund version its as powerfull as shadow zoo used to be but in another direction. i have been playing the deck since last month and its great, also the magic online results speak for themselves, very few people play it and the same names keep appearing in the 5-0 lists
right now im moving away from rampager and battle rage because theres midrange//control everywhere and its not the card you want against those kind of decks
So real talk the changes you've made all look a bit too cute.
There are so many dead cards and you've gone down to 2 TS for protection/information which doesn't leave you much room to combo off, and considering you've upped the number of combo pieces which are entirely dead cards I just don't see how the deck can function like that.
I would like to have some stats on your games and ask how many games you've played with the list so far?
You could just add a 3rd thoughtseize and go up to 61 cards, wouldnt change the math on draws drastically. I don't see anything easily cut for it from the MD. You want 3 Tainted Strike in the scenario where 1 doesnt get you to 10, cutting a creature seems wrong, we only have 2 pieces of removal so we shouldnt trim there, trimming more from TBR, or cutting a BI seems wrong too. Keep in mind that in a lot of cases, played properly Surgical can work as discard/hand information too.
I can start quantifying my testing if it would help here.
What I recall off the top of my head from the last few days;
2-0 skred red
1-2 Naya landfall zoo
2-1 Jund
2-1 Bant Eldrazi
1-2 B/G tron
2-1 Abzan
0-2 Abzan
2-0 Affinity
2-1 Lantern
Never use TS offensively if it won't kill them (unless it's 2 in the same attack). 2-3 is correct but the issue isn't using 2 to kill. Can use it to fog a must stop 8 damage defense, TS their dude. I like the list what I'd do to get 4 Thoughtseize is drop 1 land and 1 TS or Push (wait, Push should be dismember anyway} swap all instances of Fatal Push for Dismember.

The fog option for ts is real and comes up but if you can get 6-7 infect in with a ts, and find or have the second it's worth it in some mu. I completely disagree on dismember vs push. Push hits so many things that dismember doesnt and in the instances where we really want the removal we don't want to pay a ton of life usually. I could see swapping the sb push for a dismember or a second path but md push is far better. The 18th land is a concession to losing probe, I was noting several games where I was having difficulty getting a third land. Also the conversation was getting back to the original 3 thoughtseize, not 4.
I run a very similar list to you. In our build, I think the Delirium plan is plan 1a and Death's Shadow is plan 1b. I can't afford the Tarmogoyfs, so in my list I have 4x Gnarlwood Dryad instead and I also have 2x Putrid Leech. I REALLY like Leech and the reason is that paying 2 life can help turn on Death's Shadow, but it also gives me a 4/4 body to give us the full effect of Temur Battle Rage. A Temur Battle Rage on a 3/3 Gnarlwood Dryad can be pretty nice if I have a 4/4 Leech, because I can assign 1 point of damage from the Dryad on the blocker and trample over with the rest.
Also, I really want to Turn Delirium on no later than T3 for the Grim Flayer / Traverse. To that end, I don't like having too many instants that might sit in my hand. For example, as good as Fatal Push is, it just sits in my hand against control match-ups. Because we put out big creatures early in the game, I am not too concerned about my opponent's creatures, so I keep targeted removal at a minimum. I do suggest since we hit delirium easily that you try out Whispers of Emrakul.
One last thing. I have found myself with hands where I have a Traverse in my hand, no delirium, and I need red mana. For that reason, I suggest finding a way to run 1 more land and make it a basic mountain. Being able to fetch the color you need with Traverse at any time is very helpful in my opinion. Don't be afraid to use it in the early game to get you a basic and enable delirium.
I went too deep and tried mournwillow in the haste spot. It did fine, letting guys get through lingering souls and rando small creatures. Forgot that it doesn't actually stop snapcaster blocks until I cast it the first time and saw the etb trigger.
fwiw, it's ability does stop snapcaster from blocking. From the rulings on the gatherer page:
7/13/2016: Because the last ability’s effect doesn’t change the characteristics of any permanents, the set of creatures affected is constantly updated. Any creature with power 2 or less at the moment blockers are chosen will be unable to block.
Brought my list to FNM tonight, going 3-1 and losing only to Burn. This deck is great, it feels like paying 8-rack with a better win condition. I'm not running mb fatal push, as this deck really doesn't want to have any dead cards at all g1. I've also abandoned ghor-clan rampager in favor of mb Whispers of Emrakul and a 3rd Kolaghan's command. The SB lingering souls are perfect for grinding out games against control decks, and are the one of the main reasons I beat UWR and Grixis tonight.
The amount of discard in this list can make it feel a lot like 8-rack with a better win condition, and I love the ability to run 1 of sb creature hosers like kataki and eidolon of rhetoric because of Traverse the ulvenwald. The list is definitely a blast to play, and the amount of flexibility it has is very impressive. The worst matchup I can think of is Burn, which still feels much more beatable than the previous Zooicide lists (collective brutality is crazy good here).
Here's what I plan on taking to the $200 cash event this Sunday:
Look at the card. Now back to Jace. Now back to that card, now back to Jace! Sadly, it isn't Jace, but if it stopped being a junk rare and became relevant, it could act like it's Jace. Crack some Worldwake. What do you have? You have a Jace, the card you wish this card could be like. Look again. THE CARD IS NOW A $75 BILL. Anything possible when you play Magic with Jace and not junk rares. This is probably spam.
sam black and gerry thompson went 9-0 on day one of gp vancouver with the new version! some more pros on the scg an the gp are also playing the deck. the deck will have a lot more exposure and thats somewhat bad for the people that are playing it but we will know about new techs and read some articles, so theres that
Reprints the one card that people point to when saying that art objectifies women.
Well done Wizards.
Liliana does not objectify women in any way at all. We have gotten to a point in our society that every single picture of a women must be objectifying a women in some negative way......blah blah blah.. That is not the case. (((Sarcasm)))Picture of a girl drinking a milk shake, must be sex related and putting women down, picture of girl sitting on a beach, picture of a girl driving a car, picture of a girl on the moon at a new space station.)))
You have a picture of an attractive strong power women who girls dress up as for anime conventions. What more do you want? The picture is fine, happy to see a reprint. Sick of of seeing people claim that everything in existence must be putting women down. Then all I have to do is replace the word "women" with anything else to get the same mentality; fish, cats, arabs, blacks, jews, men, environment, whites, chinese, old people, etc. It doesn't matter what word I put in. Stop sucking life out of everything man. That artwork of her is awesome. Stop putting stuff down man. Just stop. If the picture was really as negative as you claim she would totally nude, in a kitchen, making sandwiches and giving blow jobs. Her abilities would be horrible as well. +1 do nothing -2 do nothing -6 do nothing. Instead liliana of the veil is an amazing planeswalker comparable to jace, the mind sculpter with great art to appreciate.
My suggestion listen to some comedy radio for a while, pandora is free, youtube is free there is something out there for you. ***** go make fun of somebody. The whole world is so serious and campaigning for some cause, or someones rights, everything is a hate crime, racist, sexist. blah blah blah.
"O no mcdonalds must be slandering a hate crime against skinny people every time they make a big mac." hahaha jeeze You're just someone perpetuating another groups negative perspective that they've made you believe is correct. Look at the picture for a hour and tell me what's wrong with it? I don't see anything.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
I've played 4 leagues so far, 4-1 2x 3-2 once 2-3 once. In my losses there were definite mistakes made on my part either in mulligan/play decisions.

7/13/2016: Because the last ability’s effect doesn’t change the characteristics of any permanents, the set of creatures affected is constantly updated. Any creature with power 2 or less at the moment blockers are chosen will be unable to block.
