Yeah, both LtLH and Rakdos Charm are great in the mirror too, forgot about them.
I think Charm is probably overall a bit stronger, as it can just win you the game with the dmg mode, but I think surgical actually extracting reveler can also be very powerful. I like both.
Isn't Surgical Extraction bad against grindy decks? I mean it's supposed to be because it's card disadvantage and thus shouldn't be boarded in against decks like that.
Is Mardu exception to that rule and is still worth bringing in? It's a bit confusing to me so I asked.
In general, yes, absolutely. Mardu is the exception though since the whole deck basically functions through the GY. It is significantly weaker if we cut out Looting and Reveler. THe GY really is an extension of the hand and since Looting and Reveler are so important cards, Surgical is actually a good card to bring in.
If you played the mirror before, you surely noticed that usually the player wins who resolves more Reveler. And naturally, this means that the person who has more Looting resolves more revelver, since he can more easily find them. So if you have less or even no Looting, the whole flow of the deck is crippled. You are back to topdecking, and can easily die if you don't find more action. Surgical can in that sense be a good card from the top, if you extract Lootings in the GY or in the best case, Reveler.
Speaking of Selfeisek's manabase (1 crypt, 2 foundries and plains), I played a little bit with it and quite liked it. Obviously I didn't play any Liliana pw in my 75. I think that having access to basic plains is much more valueble than the risk of having awkward opening hand. UWx getting more popular and them playing Field of Ruins is another reason to have basic plains as we want to cast lingering souls from our hand a lot of the time in the matchup.
What do you guys think of Terminate/Dreadbore split these days? I play 0/2 and it feels ok. What for do we need instant speed clause in Terminate that makes an ability of killing PW less valuable?

I'm also on the plan of 0 terminates and 2 dreadbores. The major downsides, as far as i can see (besides the obvious instant vs sorcery) is not being able to kill the haste titan when facing amulet titan decks and manlands. We have fatal push for the manlands, but for the titan, we will probably take a good hit. Also haste/flash creatures (Clique could be troublesome since it can take away our dreadbore if it's the only removal in our hand) or Kitesail would be better answered with a terminate. Even so, I'm on the plan of 2 dreadbores, because i feel that the number of pw is increasing - teferi and gideon have joined the list of modern playable planewalkers - so it's a matter of choice.
Thread locked. The New primer can be found here. If you want to start discussing a non-Pyromancer version (ie: Superfriends) then start a new thread in Deck Creation.
