The card has so much reach for us, and it’s escalation is great. What are you thinking of filling that two spot with? I don’t know what your 75 looks like, but I couldn’t imagine replacing them with helix, or a card with a higher cmc.
Also, I have a flex spot and I’m not sure if I want to run Hazoret or Lily the last hope at this 1k this weekend. Anyone have some input?

From the top decks according to goldfish right now, I only think its really good against Storm and Burn for obvious reasons. I would also not cut it completely from the maindeck, I would go down to 1 copy potentially. But I am not sure about that, its just a little feeling I have right now. I continue testing and see how it goes.
I would actually run grim flayers over angler and hazoret, as well as keeping the baubles. The deck runs Death Shadow pretty well actually since the 4-c mana base puts our life totals down pretty hard. Grim Flayer is pretty bonkers when you get delirium up. And lets us line up our draws pretty well.

Never tried lili but I play 1 Hazoret main and she never disappointed me.
I think Damping Sphere hurts ourself really more than it benefits. We want to cast multiple spells a turn to get ahead of the time advantage what we gain through the first ability.
I would exchange Fulminator with Molten Rains as they pair better with BM. Also a sweeper like Engineered Explosives or Anger of the Gods is worth considering. Maybe in place of the Crumble to Dust.
Played Mardu Pyro for the first time today at my LGS and went 3-1. I've been playing Jund for the past few months even before BBE and I wanted to give this deck a try, I was able to borrow the cards that I needed from a friend (reveler, YP, etc.). Here is the list that I ran:
I ran the fulminator because I only had 1 molten rain but once I get molten rains I'll replace it.
Here is a quick report:
Round 1, Hollow One Vengevine (2-0). The first game is where I saw the power of the deck compared to a deck like Jund, with a YP out I was able to stabilize the board with Elemental tokens until I could find the answers for Vengevine. He had a pretty explosive start but I was able to hold on in the beginning thanks to YP. Through chipping in damage here and there I was able to turn the corner with a Reveler and win game 1. Game 2 I drew into 2 of my nihil spellbombs and 3 revelers, pretty quick win.
Round 2, B/W Tokens (2-0). First game was a struggle. I was able to discard a Gideon, Ally of Zendikar away but was able to play Ob Nixilis. It looked like the game was slowly going away until I topdeck a Reveler into blood moon, mountain, and dreadbore. He only had a basic plains so once I played blood moon I was able to take over from there. Game 2 he had turn 2 Rest in Peace, but I eventually found my 1 of Hazoret that took over the game fairly quickly.
Round 3, R/G Eldrazi (0-2). This was rough. In game 1 he thought-knot seer'd my reveler that I was going to play next turn, then followed up with reality smasher. Game 2 he thought-knot seer'd my hazoret that I was going to play next turn, then followed up with reality smasher. I thought that if I didn't get those two taken away I would have been in decent shape both games, but it happens.
Round 4, U/B Taking Turns (2-0). Both games played out as expected: discard their mine effect away, then get on the board as fast as possible before they could link turns together profitably. Fortunately in both games I was able to take away the Dictate of Kruphix before he could play it, as it would have been big game for him if it stuck.
Some thoughts on the deck:
The deck was really fun to play. Casting Faithless Looting was fun, and I believe that lingering souls is a good grind card to be playing now, especially with my local meta having a lot of Jund and control.
The manamorphoses were nice when in conjunction with YP. I'm not 100% on them though. I did get to manamorphose into manamorphose with a YP out one game which was sweet.
Hazoret did what I wanted her to do, act as another threat that didn't rely on the graveyard. She shined in every game that I got to play her in.
There's another modern event in two days so I'll probably run it back with Mardu again, then will see if I want to buy into it. So far though, I'm a fan.
For those of you running Hazoret, how easy is it for you to cast her on curve? My biggest issue with the deck currently is hitting the 3rd land (playing 20 lands/ 1 Manamorphose). Looting on turn 1 solves this problem most of the time, but without it I often stumble with my mana.

Without Looting it can be tough to hit your fourth landdrop. But since Hazoret is only a 1-of max, I think this is not that big of an issue. Later in the game I often get to 4-5 lands and if I wanted to cast Hazoret, I pretty much always was able to do so.
I did some tuning to my list in the last days and came up with some small changes. I think having Hazoret really benefits our deck, as the deck is in general really susceptible to GY hate and small sweepers. I expect a pretty high amount of both singlehandedly due to Hollow One and Humans. Therefore I am very keen on the extra threat which can survive both those things easily. And since Hazoret is actually pretty diverse and never really a bad card to have, I advocate to run one copy in the 75. The question then becomes, if we want her in the maindeck or sideboard. I personally think, sweeper and GY hate will only really be present in games 2 and 3, for which reason I think it makes most sense to play Hazoret in the SB and having a streamlined and focued gameplan in game 1.
By shifting Hazoret into the SB, I rethought other cards that see play both in SBs and MBs: LoTV and Blood Moon. I think, Blood Moon is the strongest in game 1 when your opponent doesn't expect it. Therefore I am trying to play some copies in the MB. After SB some decks will bring in removal against it or be more causios about fetching (if you are on the draw game 1 and your opponent doesn't know you are on mardu, he/she surely won't play around BM, and his/her first fetch will likely be a shock). LoTV in general is also a card I would like to have in the maindeck, but am not quite sure about finding the correct place for her.
I am very keen on playing 20 lands, I think 19 lands are quite greedy even with multiple Manamorphose. It just makes keeping one landers with Looting more attractive, which I like more than having to mull more often or get screwed more often. Therefore I think the correct number or Manamorphose is 1-2, but more likely 2. More are not really needed if you run 20 lands.
I see many lists now run 2 Push, 1 Dreadbore, 1 Terminate as well as some LoTV as hardremoval maindeck. I think 2 Pushes and 1 Dreadbore are fixed. I am not sure about the Terminates though. I personally would like 2 copies rather than one, but having LoTV main helps with playing only 1 copy. Essentially this would free up some SB space if needed. (Playing LoTV main rather than SB)
Maybe, if Burn becomes too much of a problem going onward, I am going to replace one Manamorphose with another CB. Right now I am not that impressed with it though, as I stated before.
From my limited experience, it is not that bad of a matchup. You can deal with their big threats and create a lot of small blockers, which makes it hard for them to get through. Reveler then finishes the game as they don't have removal for him. They can of course have the nutdraw and make pressure from turn 2 onwards, but I think we are slightly favoured.
How is the matchup vs Hollow One with this deck? It's one of the most popular decks at the moment and coming from Jund it was pretty rough there so I was wondering how does it look like here?
YP and Souls really help to hold back the small creatures they have. Mardu has more targeted discard, which is good, and it can operate on 2-3 lands only, which means it has a reasonable game against the faster openers of Hollow One. 3 KCommand maindeck really helps with Hollow One itself. And in the SB there is more space for impactful GY hate (even 4 Leyline if you want to do so) that I think its overall better than with Jund.
You are basically playing Caleb's list from the last open, but cut 1 Brutality for a second Manamorphose. It is appealing, but I can't make that move because of the Humans and Burn players in my local meta.
About 2x Liliana mainboard: I think she fits perfectly into the deck. She removes threats we have a hard time dealing with (Smashers etc), helps against combo and the discard is never really a disadvantage in the deck. Like you said, I don't think 2 Terminates are necessary with Liliana in the mainboard.
I am still unsure about my gy-hate configuration. This is one of the few decks where I don't dislike Leyline because of Looting, but Surgical is an instant and harmonizes better with Reveler alongside the great Spellbomb.
What about Lavamancer instead of the second Anger? Not good enough because of the nonbo with Reveler?
Rabblemaster is also an option I am currently considering for my sideboard, but Hazoret fulfills a similar role. Have to test them both extensively.

Exactly, its essentially Calebs list mainboardwise. I agree about LoTV maindeck.
In general, Surgical syngerizes well with YP and Reveler, but I think Surgical is actually a bit mediocre atm. I do run one copy as its a hybrid hate for Tron and Hollow One. But I am very keen on 4 GY hate interacting SB cards. I think running 4 Leyline is certainly a good option, but I personally wanted a bit of extra hate against Tron, therfore I settled on 3 Spellbomb + 1 Surgical.
Lavamancer is interesting, and I am willing to test it, but right now I personally want the second Anger as impactful answer for Hollow One. In general, Lavamancer sees pretty much no play in Mardu actually. I think the nonbo with Reveler might be too bad or awkward to get full value off Lavamancer. But I am not quite sure.
Rabblemaster is a good card, but I think Hazoret is a bit better since it dodges the sweeper issue, Rabblemaster is still susceptible to them.
True, that's my biggest issue with Rabblemaster: Nearly all the opponents will bring in sweepers and Rabblemaster dies to all of them. Coming a turn earlier is one major upside though, but I basically agree with you that Hazoret might be a better choice.
Edit: I see you play 2 Anger in the sb, and while the exile clause is often relevant, I can not recommend Engineered Explosives enough in this deck. It is way better against Humans, Bogles, Jund and even UW Control that I would advice you playing a mix of 1/1.
Yeah I can see that. EE on 1 doesn't hurt our creatures but can sweep the opponents creatures away. Its also versatile nonland noncreature permanent hate in the CMC range of 0-3. Its something I have considered, and I will think about it a little more.

There are games where I am stuck on 1 or 2 lands but these games are different than our normal games anyway. In a "normal" game 4 lands are very common (escpecially when you already casted a reveler).
In games where I am under pressure and I have to defend myself all the time, hazoret can't help me every time. She shines in grindy games that go very looooong and in those cases, you often have the 4 lands.
FNM-Report:
It has been some months since I last played Mardu Pyromancer, and after having been disappointed with Jund I decided to give it a try again. Here is the list I sleeved up yesterday:
Round 1 vs Jund:
Opponent is on the play, I mulliganed to 6 and immediately realized that Mardu plays vastly different from the Rock decks I am habituated playing with. Discard on turn 1 is followed by a Young Pyromancer who gets killed by a Push. He plays Liliana of the Veil, I discard Souls. The following turn I flashback Souls, Inquisition him and see 2 BBE. He then casts BBE, cascades into a Goyf and then overruns me. It all went too fast without me finding enough removal.
Game 2 is over even faster because I mulliganed to 6 again, dind't find my second land after double Looting and got overrun again by BBE and Goyf. 0-1
Round 2 vs GR Midrange:
My opponent plays a Ponza-ish deck with a typical Ponza opening of Land into Arbor Elf, but also cards like Strangleroot Geist, Goblin Rabblemaster and Kitchen Finks. It was not really a fight because my opponent was very inexperienced (it was his first FNM and it was not his own deck). I decided both games pretty fast in my favour without him doing an awful lot after I killed his Arbor Elf on turn 1 in both matches. 1-1
Round 3 vs Esper Control:
Before the Evening, I was not sure who is the favourite in these kind of matchups, and to be honest, I am still unsure about it. In game one, I stabilized the board with several Spirit and Elemental tokens and had him dead in two turns but he topdecked Supreme Verdict and I had to start again from scratch. A second wipe was followed by a Gideon of the Trials while I was drawing 3 lands in a row which was enough for me to concede. The next two games I experienced the power of Blood Moon in addition to Molten Rain. This combination of cards locked him out of both game 2 and 3 without really putting up a fight. 2-1
Round 4 vs 4c-Saheeli:
I think I am heavily favoured in this matchup: Discard, efficient removal combined with pressure in form of tokens make this matchup very hard for my opponent. His clunky manabase doesn't do him a favour against a Blood Moon deck. I nevertheless had to respect his combo in game 1, as he played Felidar Guardian on turn 3, I bolted Renegade Rallier in response and then let him discard Saheeli Rai with a Thoughtseize the following turn. From here on, Souls and Elemental tokens finished the job because he stumbled on three mana after I killed his Noble Hierarch and his Hand was full of Sun Titans and other expensive cards. Game 2 I again managed to lock an opponent out with Blood Moon without him doing much. 3-1
In the end I was quite happy how the tournament evolved, but was very unhappy about my first match against Jund. How do you guys approach sideboarding in that particular matchup, do you take out the discard and Moon or not? I decided to add a second Moon postboard alongside EE, Molten Rain and Hazoret and took out Brutality and some of the discard. But I am not sure whether it was the correct line.
My second concern regarding sideboarding affects Bedlam Reveler. Is it wise to board 1-2 Revelers out against decks with gy-hate like RIP and Leyline or is he too important to cut? I decided to remove 2 from the mainboard when I expected my opponent to bring in gy-hate, but again, I am unsure whether this is the correct approach.
However, I had a lot of fun playing the deck, but it is way more difficult to play than I first expected.
