against affinity, bring in Languish/damnation, stony silence, creeping corrosion, golgari charm, engineered explosives, fulminator is okay, pithing needle, disfigure, ect. A lot of people board out discard to make room for these, but personally I always find turn 1 or 2 thoughtseize/inquisition to be a problem (as affinity player). see if you can cut some creatures first.
i want to board in 2 damnation for affinity matchup. what's better to take out? tasigur or siege rhino? I was thinking of scavenging ooze but I thought it will be a better curve to take out tasigur or siege rhino. can we reliably cast tasigur and his ability? is life gain relavent from siege rhino?
I am still running a one of Darkblast in the sideboard over Disfigure. Is this a fine substitute? What 2 toughness creatures you want Disfigure to hit that Darkblast can't? Its proven its worth against Affinity and Infect since you can just mow down their early game.

I've run Darkblast in the MB/SB for awhile as well and the main thing you miss is Kiki-Jiki, Goblin Guide, Wild Natal and Eidolon of the Great Revel. Though for everything but Kiki-Jiki (assuming you're dead) you can do the upkeep trick to kill them but it feels bad. I still find Darkblast to be better than Disfigure to stop multiple mana dorks, tokens and infect/affinity.

Oh right I forgot about those, thanks. My meta has been infested with Affinity and to a lesser extent Infect that I forgot about Guide and Kiki as targets. I guess there's no point of switching since my meta is skewed towards Affinity.
can we update the match up list? I would like to know if they are favourable for us for unfavourable. mostly for merfolk, death and taxes, zoo.
I've been meaning to do this for a while, as well as get a bunch of other updates made but have just been really busy with end of school year stuff. I'll try to get some updates made either tomorrow night or saturday (probably saturday night).
Also, I've been playing jund more than junk lately which is why I haven't really made too many updates in a while, but may be swinging back into white again with tec-edge being a lot more viable than in recent modern meta.
Agree with most of these, but merfolk is probably closer to even. Burn is still generally slightly unfavorable as well. Most of these will be closer to even. Also, builds have to be taken into consideration as well, because matchups like scapeshift are a lot better with things like knight of the reliquary, or if you're more aggro and less control. For the record, I am only using unfavorable, slightly unfavorable, even, slightly favorable, and favorable. There's not much to be gained by adding "very" to any of them. Truth is, this deck doesn't have any actual very favorable or unfavorable match ups. Very unfavorable matchups would be like soul sisters vs. burn. This deck doesn't really have any match ups like that...even tron, because at the end of the day, if a tron player fumbles or if we have great hands with all of our hate, they'll still lose.
This setup is better. I use 2 Wildwood, 1 vent and 1 mire as well.
went 3-0-1 tonight beating Merfolk, Blue Moon and Jeskai Nahiri then ID for first place.
Anguished Unmaking saved my butt against Nahiri and test games against tron.

I'm building up cards for this deck (preparing to take the plunge and get goyfs) and I've run into a problem; a good 40 percent of the people at my local store play Kiki chord, which this deck has some problems with in my experience. They are just absurdly good at grinding me out. I'm miles away from affording the switch to Jund, so in the meanwhile, what are some good card choices to help even out my chord matchup?
I've been playing the deck for two weeks at some minor tournaments with really good results, but I'm still a bit unsure about the manland configuration. Most lists run 1 Hissing Quagmire, 1 Stirring Wildwood and 2 Shambling Vent, but almost every match I find myself wishing that those Vents were Stirring Wildwoods (they attack/block better, don't die to bolt). Maybe running 2 Wildwoods and 1 Vent might be considered, or am I wrong?
I dont think you should base your deckbuilding around the creature stats, but rather, the colors the manlands provide. You dont want be stuck with 3 lands, one of them being a black source, and not being able to land a liliana because you ran a wildwood over a shambling vent. The 2/3 stat on the vent and 2/2 stat on the mire is definitely underwhelming but a 3 color deck has to prioritize the colors it produces. Everything else should just be gravy.
Me personally, I run a 1/1/1 split on all 3 manlands and run 2 GQs
how do we sideboard against merfolk. what will be OUT and IN for sideboarding and key cards for us and problematic cards for us.
Depends on lists, of course but:
Out: thoughtseize (leave in IOK though), probably one bob and/or one scavenging ooze depending on how much you have to bring in.
In: Kitchen finks, zealous persecution, damnation, good blockers. If you have something to take out for fulminator mage thats a possibility. This is also one of the few matchups I really like timely reinforcements since they don't have trample or any way of interacting with the lifegain portion.
I know it seems kind of vague, but it just depends on what you have access too. Damnation is probably the best card we have access too that's commonly played. There are several very narrow cards like Scryb Ranger and stuff like that that aren't commonly played.
what are your thoughts about taking out our 4 drops or top end? if i play a traditional BOB-less Junk, what do i take out? if i have a perfect sideboard merfolk what would i take in? let's say i only expect merfolk and all 15 cards sideboard will be dedicated to merfolk

Spreading seas is probably the most problematic thing for us as it can really keep us off balance in casting timely removal spells or blockers. Other problematic cards include master of waves (mainly because it blanks abrupt decay and liliana), tidebinder mage, harbinger of the tides, threads of disloyalty (this one can cause HUGE blowouts), kira, great glass spinner, and also the occasional well-placed vapor snag.
