Red7394, unless your meta is weird I would drop 2 Pierce for Seas and Waves. Those cards win games.
It's not that my Meta is weird, it's that I don't know what's going to be there, so I've gone for the broader options list.
I think you're right though, 4 Pierce is a bit much. I might go -1 Pierce, +1 Seas, then put the 4th copy of MoW into the Sideboard.

4-1-1 in swiss beating Twin, 8rack, Melira combo, and storm. Lost to affinity.
Played kiki-chord in top 8. Crushed him game 1 and then got stopped cold g2 and g3 by turn 3 ghostly prison. My only answer was a single echoing truth but i never saw it. Personal record of 21 elemental tokens and nothing to do with them.
Brutal. GP is a card... and a super annoying one. Echoing Truth is a good answer, just badluck you never saw it if the game grinded on forever.
Ghostly Prison is a rare card to see but if I see it I board in my Tectonic Edges; make as many land drops as you can, pay the tax and you can generally get in with two creatures each turn which is plenty. It also helps that most decks that play it also play Path to Exile for that sick antisynergy
rothgar13, Ayiluss, thanks for your response!
I'm indeed going to put Relic of Progenitus in SB as I face decks that use graveyard very often (Grim Lavamancer, Kitchen Finks, Strangleroot Geist can be very annoying...)
And Unified Will is yet another option I'll definitely consider now that Eggs are to settle in our meta!

Yep the games took forever and he seemed to have infinite path to exiles hitting my lords. (Path, path, eternal witness return path, chord for eternal witness return path, etc) couldnt keep islandwalk so could never profitably attack.
Last night I went 4-0 at my LGS beating merfolk, affinity, living end/splinter twin, and affinity again.
I was shocked to beat affinity twice especially since i didn't bring hurkyl's recalls. I was running hot though. Made me feel better.

Pretty sure that's a fixable one, provided that you noticed in time. Did you catch it before the items were sent?
Nope. Last one was shipped today. I went to check the tracking on all of them and that's when I noticed Thankfully the person at the campus mailroom remembers me, so I think I'll be able to either have them forward to me from there (something they don't usually do), or if worse comes to worse, I can make the two hour trek up there to get them the day before.
Yeah. That's why I'm more disappointed in my own ineptitude as opposed to being legitimately pissed off at myself about it. It could have been MUCH worse.
Refreshing myself on the SB/land discussion we were having a page or two back, and another thought dawned on me: How do we feel about the U/X filter lands? Specifically U/W and U/B?
They get around the problems of ETB tapped lands like Seachrome Coast, doesn't reveal any information to our OP (as someone mentioned as a small concern), and the U/B one can help with Dismembers as some people would like without using Darkslick Shores or Watery Graves.
Is the fact that you need to have another U source too big of a detriment to their usefulness?
To those who dislike or do not own Cursecatcher. Is Mothdust Changeling viable? He does get boosted by Master of Waves and can acquire flying if needed to block stuff such as Inkmoth Nexus, Signal Pest, Vault Skirge, Delver of Secrets etc. I know he's been mentioned before but I quite like the idea of surprise flier if you really hate CC. I excluded Reej and replaced him with Wake Thrasher since Mothdust can tap newly summoned fish. Just an idea...
Commander GUR Maelstrom Wanderer BWU Sydri, Galvanic Genius BGB Meren of Clan Nel Toth WGW Nazahn, Revered Bladesmith RRR Feldon of the Third Path WWW Heliod, God of the Sun
You basically have to treat them like colorless lands when deckbuilding, as mutavault or cavern of soulds + filter land doesn't produce any blue mana. They also get awkward when trying to keep open mana.
You could run one to fix an UW build or for Dismember but I'd cut Cavern of Souls for it, not a blue land

Wait... why would you ever want to do this? The meta is prominently featuring combo decks (most notably Amulet Bloom, which is fast as heck), and Harbinger of the Tides exists to make Merrow Reejerey even more relevant. Your plan makes us weaker to Pyroclasm, Anger of the Gods, and other damage-based sweepers, slows down our clock (because team pump > self-pump in a deck with this many creatures, especially when it's as slow as Wake Thrasher is), and makes us more vulnerable to dying out of nowhere at the hands of Bloom, Grishoalbrand, or any of those other combo decks that lurk below the surface.

Hm... I don't know if I agree with that. Both of them need usually to stick for a turn to work their magic, but Reejerey's pump can get to business right away if there are other Merfolk already in play when it's cast/Vialed in (which there usually are). Plus, the tap effect is more versatile than just making a big dumb creature. The only things that Wake Thrasher has going for it are its ability to finish games once it gets big and evasive (which is often unnecessary, because the circumstances that make it evasive means you can produce damage in bunches anyway), and that it's usually a better topdeck. Color me unimpressed.
Mothdust Changeling is a good replacement for Cursecatcher in a budget list. However, he's been tested a lot and the consensus has always been that Cursecatcher is still our best 1-drop. Its biggest contestant is Judge's Familiar, which also comes with the addition of flying and gives you the taxing ability, but which can't grow with our lords
So basically the question is whether you want the taxing ability and flying without tapping a creature versus a faster clock. That's meta dependant, but in a vacuum I'd still prefer Judge's Familiar
you make it sound like Rejeerey is faster than Wake Thrasher. HE IS NOT.
Reejerey might be the better card, but being faster belongs to Wake Thrasher.
And depending on the Meta, Wake Thrasher has its own strengths.
how is reejerey not faster?
immediate +1/+1 to your team seems pretty fast...

Wake Thrasher is faster in the long terms but he boost only himself and thus doesn't have good synergy with the rest of the deck. He will grow more than Reejerey will boost other creatures but in general he's much better creature. If I'm honest I don't know why would you play Wake Thrasher in Merfolk when you have so many better options.

how many run 19 lands VS 20, i dropped to 19, and boy did got mana screwed. In my mind i am thinking it was the change, but it seems so many good players and pros play 19x. I am playing the 8seas version. so any pros over 19 vs 20
