Fun video, but only thing I noticed...do you run a 14 card sideboard? I might've been missing something, but 1 Tidebinder, 1 Harbinger, 4 Negate, 3 Spell Pierce, 1 Dismember, and 4 Tectonic Edge = 14, right? I could easily be wrong...just wondering.
Maybe my face was hiding the number but it was 2x Harbinger of the Tides.
And in other news, I won the GPT with a very similar build! Only around 25-30 players though
10 Island
4 Mutavault
2 Wanderwine Hub
1 Cavern of Souls
1 Oboro, Palace in the Clouds
1 Minamo, School at Water's Edge
4 Cursecatcher
4 Silvergill Adept
4 Lord of Atlantis
4 Master of the Pearl Trident
2 Harbinger of the Tides
2 Tidebinder Mage
3 Merrow Reejerey
3 Master of Waves
Round 1 - UWR Delver (win 2-0)
Round 2 - UWR Control (win 2-1)
Round 3 - Abzan (win 2-0)
Round 4 - UR Twin (win 2-0)
Round 5 - UW Control (Win 2-0)
Rounds 6 & 7 - ID
Top 8 - RG Tron (Win 2-0)
Top 4 - RG Tron (win 2-0)
Finals - UW Control (Win 2-1)
Once again Merfolk wins without running into Affinity at all. I'm going to just point it out every time.
LOL to be fair, i predicted meta to be very pro-affinity.
We had 94 players, probably the following breakdown:
Affinity = 10 to 15 players (2 top 8)
Jund = 10 to 15 players
Grixis (Control /twin)= 5 to 10 players (1 top 8)
Burn = 5 to 10 players
UR Twin Combo = 5 to 10 players
Other decks = under 5 players
Other top 8 decks besides the above, and my fish, were:
- RG Tron x 2
- Boggles
- UW Control
Congrats on the great results Nikachu! Interested in your changes to the SB, did you miss the Relics at anytime? How often did the 4th Dismember and Negates come into play?
Does dismember honestly help, staying main. I run what nikachu runs misnus 2 dismembers and 1x claim, added 2x more harbingers. outside of jund, i never saw any really worth 4 life. even then i side boarded relic and killed his goyfs power. idk. sometimes i think i wanna mainboard 2x path, or add some more white/blue land and more paths. idk. just seem Dismember doesn't put in work. it is fun trying to find the best deck and a bit frustrating.
I was in the same boat for a while, until I realized:
Losing 4 Life > Losing The Game
Simple as that. Great defense against combos like Splinter Twin, Tron finishers like Platinum Angel and especially the two most played Delve critters just to name a few.

i get just hadnt seen it in my meta yet except twin.. i dont mid the 4 life. i may run 2x dismember side.
If you don't see any reason to run dismember because vapor snag/HotT do all the work they need to, don't add any. Some people are lucky enough to have metas where that works. Embrace it, you're saving life. If you attend major tourneys, or have a change in your meta though, you might end up needing them. As MoonTimeDweller said, anything to not lose the game is worth doing, if you need to.

Okay, I just checked now and I'm in fact playing with a 14 card sideboard
Dismember and Vapor Snag are two very different cards. Dismember is more aggressive and Vapor Snag more defensive. Dismember simply kills almost anything in the format for 1 mana. Mana dorks, twin targets, any threat (Vendilion Clique, Grim Lavamancer, Tasigur, Gurmag Angler, Dark Confidant, Scavenging Ooze, Tarmogoyf, any soul sister, Archangel of Thune, and the list goes on forever. Dismember may also be cast off of any land which makes it much more flexible with our mana which often has mutavault or a cavern. So with Island, Island, Mutavault we can play a lord with Dismember Back up.
Vapor Snag has the benefit of saving our creatures in response to a removal spell but the spell is more clunky in those island, island, mutavault situations. While Vapor Snagging a Delver, Tasigur, and Gurmag Angler has a similar impact as dismember, the same is not as true for the rest of the creatures in the game where they will return and you once again must find a way to deal with it. Vapor Snag is also card disadvantage when using it on your opponent's creatures. Your manabase must be better suited for Snag otherwise you hurt it's effectiveness (less Caverns the better). Of course it's a great card but I generally rather have 4x Dismember first and if I need more of that effect I start siding in Vapor Snag. I'm not going to rag on Snag, it's a great card too and I don't blame anyone for choosing 4x Snag over Dismember but they just must be doing it for the right reasons and not because they are scared of losing life.
Any game I used 3x Dismember and went down to 8 life was a game I won because my opponent didn't have anything out
Congrats on the great results Nikachu! Interested in your changes to the SB, did you miss the Relics at anytime? How often did the 4th Dismember and Negates come into play?
Dismember is always great. So annoying hearing so many people complaining about it. It's only terrible vs Burn, awkward vs Affinity, and great vs any other deck with creatures.
I didn't miss Relic on the sideboard but I never faced a Snapcaster Mage deck yet. I think the way the deck is built right now I should be able to beat Tarmogoyfs.
Negates countered things vs the BW Token deck. I would have sided them in vs any combo deck as well.
Dismember is great card, bad against fast aggressive decks (affinity and Burn) but good against everything else. I agree with Nikachu on it. If you get away a problematic creature of the table it gives you big advantage that xou can win from most of the time and life loss doesn't matter. For example life loss because of killing Tarmogoyf, Ooze, Bob, Tasigur, angler and similar stuff is negligible compared to value you get from killing them.
Don`t forget steel overseer and ink nexus, I think dismember AND spell pierce are great against affinity. I did fine with them playtesting against a friend.

hahahaha, I could've sworn it was 14. Glad to see you still are that successful even with a card short and mull'ing to 4!
I've top 8ed PPTQ's with it and Nikachu won a GPT with it. So yes it is viable beyond an FNM.
