almost done assembling this deck. but only have bloodstained mire as a budget version. what is the heirarchy of shocklands do you fetch? to gain maximum advantage color-wise?
also, how do you recover if you have accidentally drawn your 3 living ends?
I think the ban list update is going to be good for Living End. The decks that are most helped by the changes are fair decks like Jund, Grixis and UWx Control. Living End traditionally eats fair decks pretty well, and our combo has a good chance of fighting through Thopters. Affinity, Eldrazi, Burn and Infect are still big parts of the meta but big tournaments will keep them in check better.
If 2-3 Kolaghan's Command isn't somewhere in your 75 already, it should be. Artifact-hate has always been good because of Affinity, and Thopter Foundry is making it better.
@PtyLtd: What makes you think there will be a lot more graveyard hate now? Is it because of Grixis or fair decks in general or something else?
Blue
You value knowledge, logic, and deceit. You love to pursue wisdom but also to manipulate and deceive. At your best, you are brilliant and progressive. At your worst, you are treacherous and cold. Your symbol is a water droplet. Your enemies are green and red.
Also, I should point out that the Living End deck has had to fight against Thopter-Sword before, back in old Extended. (The latter even had the Vampire Hexmage/Dark Depths combo.) It wasn't a horrible matchup.
Given the recent jostle to the banlist, I think I might be swapping out maindeck Shriekmaws for maindeck Ingot Chewers; the latter's stock is up right now.
I highly doubt ancestral is going to matter to our deck enough to bother with trap. The old cascade list is likely not coming back, and if they suspend it all it means is they are down a card for the turns that matter to you. I think you are far more likely to hear something like:
"Ancestral Visions goes to resolve"
"Violent outburst in response, Living end my stuff back, Fulminator your lands. Ok you may resolve now."
Ingot chewer is a 4 of. At this point if it was not a 4 of in your deck you were playing the deck wrong. The only question now I think is do you main board copies of it.
I'm not super convinced of mainboarding ingot chewers at least not yet. Mb chalice will see less play as that was an eldrazi meta thing, there is that going for us. The verdict is still not out yet about thopter swords. There exists a lot of artifact hate in modern so the odds are against it being a tier 1 deck that requires us to have mb answers.

Good point, and one that should make LE players feel good about AV entering Modern. We have the speed to go underneath a Vision while still sticking to the "kill your lands" plan vs. control. Their permission isn't going to change - it's the same Remand/Mana Leak/Cryptic Command nonsense as its always been - so I wouldn't think a dramatic shift in strategy is needed to beat turn-1 suspended Ancestral Vision.

I think once the meta settles itself that will be the case, but in light of the unbannings I think you're going to see a lot of people excited to get to play their Thopter-Sword combo again and, as such, it will be out in force. You'll also see people trying to play their Eldrazi decks mostly unchanged save for the removal of Eye. So for a few weeks, I think maining Ingot Chewer is going to be a real meta play.

Even without a target, it is a 3/3 body in a mostly lightning bolt light meta, at least if people start messing with Thopter/sword and eldrazi. And if recent sales have been any indication, Affinity is likely to remain at the very top tier for some time.
If Jund was a factor I would be way less excited to run maindeck chewers because of bolt and lack of targets, but I don't think it is going to sit well in the new world order at all. Thought the possibility of a BUG or RUG deck in the style of Jund running ancestral as a hand refill seems like a distinct possibility as well, though I think we are well positioned to fight them anyway.
Nahiri, the Harbinger call me crazy, but i kind of want to run her in white splash, she cycles for her plus ability, then she exiles enchantments, and knocks off cards similar to gideon jura
I think she'd be good as a sideboard for match ups that pack a lot of graveyard hate for games 2 and 3.
Why would you run worse cards to get 2 extra power? Who cares if you lose 2 power, you've got 3/4s.
everything in the deck gives you double value/use, obviously, but unfortunately faerie macabre gets knocked off by deadshot minotaurs ability, negating the flyer you gained.
How do we start dealing with graveyard hate that is showing up more with thopters/sword back in the picture? I felt like I was racing rest in peace, relic, etc. Any advice?

i'm having thoughts that 3/4 isn't all its cracked up to be.
You're looking at it wrong. You shouldn't care that faerie macabre gets blown out of the sky because generally if you used it in the first place, you spent zero mana and had a uncounterable double removal piece. It's like playing an uncounterable slaughter pact that has no restrictions and hits two creatures without the upkeep cost. The amount of value that is generated from faerie macabre's ability alone is so great that it matters little if it survives.
Considering that most LE decks will run reach in some capacity, flyers are not that big of an issue. And if they're manlands like the nexus twins, then they face the wrath of our land destruction. That is not even considering that most opponents will be playing defensively after an LE.

It remains to be seen if GY hate will go up, I think artifact hate will go up to deal with thopter foundry and having extra hate against affinity is never bad.
What is the opinion on Sin Prodder here now that this deck won't have to race the Eldrazi decks? I looked back over the last three pages, but didn't see anyone mention it. This little devil could help fill the graveyard faster if it lives to see your next upkeep, then it either gives you a card or bins something, dealing damage in the process if it's not a land or living end. Seems to me that a less combo heavy variation of Living end using Sin Prodder may be worth testing in combination with a few Goblin Dark-Dwellers to help cast living end or one of the cascade spells if it the Prodder's trigger sends either one to the graveyard.
For reference, here is the banlist talk rule, although all other Modern and MTGS Forum rules will, of course, also apply:
Only discuss bans in the banlist thread
Users may not post with the primary purpose of discussing, debating, or speculating about the banlist or unbanning/banning cards outside of the Official Current Modern Banlist Discussion thread, which can be found stickied in Modern general. Follow all thread rules when posting there.
Users who post about these topics outside of the thread will be warned/infracted accordingly.
Users may mention bans outside of the banlist thread if the primary purpose is not to discuss, debate, or speculate on the banlist or the banning/unbanning of cards. The primary purpose of the reference must be related to the thread in which the user is posting. For example, saying "Card X is probably getting banned on Monday. Should we swap Card A for Card B in our sideboard?" is okay in a deck thread. Responding to that with "Card X is definitely not getting banned on Monday; it will be Card Y" is a violation of this rule. PM the staff if you have any questions; posts that cross the line will be warned/infracted at the moderators' discretion.
Feel free to reply to this post or PM me if you have any questions! Carry on with your deck development in the new Modern!

i know the logic behind deadshot was he's 3/4 and bolt proof, but I'm getting sick and tired of him killing my faerie macabre!
with all of these lingering souls, thopter-combo, as well as unburial rites-Tron suddenly showing up at my meta, i think 4 faerie macabre mainboard is the right way to go.

sometimes a flyer is useful. such as inkmoth nexus or blinkmoth nexus.
