I'm actually considering to MD 2 copies of Gnaw to the Bone in addition to my 4 Bacon Piggies. I like to play Living End more like a control deck, setting up for a huge Living End that will end the game with 1 swing of our guys.
I mean, we have inevitability in a lot of matchups, it's more about living long enough to make it there for me.
I would love to tell you guys that Mardu Charm is the nutter butters, but I can't.
I would love to tell you guys that Mardu Charm is the definition of a wasted slot, but I can't.
I never drew it and I didn't play the MUs where I'd want a second copy.
In total, I went 3-0-1, playing against Infect (2-1), Affinity(2-0), Jund(2-1) and Melira Pod(ID).
The list performed well, the Boars are fine and I didn't miss Fulminator Mage too much. Sided it in against Infect and Jund. Gnaw to the Bone in the 60 might be a bit too much, but I don't know what I'd run instead.
Question: Having been out of modern for a wile, how much are you guys seeing treasure cruise get played? I think it really could power up burn and make our day much harder against them, and it generally strengthens our bad matchups.
with that said, how do you feel about maybe murderous cut? It would be a reason to play more fetchlands, but it gives us an instant speed and cheap way to itneract with creatures that still doesn't get hit by living end.

Play Brindle Boar and put a few Gnaw to the Bone in your SB and burn based decks will have a hard time.
this deck isn't delve friendly, despite how rapidly it fills a graveyard. I would only considered delving for creatures like tombstalker and not utility spells like murderous cut since you'll establish longer lasting board presence. delve for a creature is immune to most graveyard hate, so getting a creature recops value for your previous work.
if your creatures spot removed or countered then delve doesn't net you anything anyways.

I'm not suggesting you delve cyclers away, but as we are gaining more fetchlands and we do put other things in our graveyard it's not impossible to cast. And I suppose there are relatively few matchups I would prefer cut over dismember, though they do exist.
We have Shriekmaw, Dismember, Beast Within, Anger of the Gods and possibly Mardu Charm as straight up removal - not to mention Living End itself is a Plague Wind. I don't think we need Murderous Cut.

So, I can't seem to get the search to work for this thread... Now that plenty of time has passed, is blood moon still regarded as badly as it was initially? (Sorry to fill the thread with old topics as I know this probably has been rehashed a thousand times)
It's not as good as Fulminator Mage in the general case and I don't think anyone is arguing otherwise. It's randomly better in a few matchups (Jund comes to mind). A Fulminator build doesn't need Bloodmoon in the sideboard because their maindeck is just better at the same strategy.

Alrighty then! I'll just keep to the normal plan then! Thanks! I thought it might be good against RWU as it CAN keep them off their counter magic mana, and same for twin/delver to some degree (if it stuck though now that I think about it, this doesn't really matter since it is sorcery speed and they get to untap so I kinda answered my own question. XD), but they can easily fetch islands once they figure me out. I thought in game one it could be strong though, before they are careful with what they fetch.
Idk though, if the testing has revealed it is primarily a budget thing, then ok! I will bow to you guys' knowledge. I do not play this deck nearly as much as I used to.
So I've been playing this deck online for a bit. Pretty much even match-ups with everyone I play. Even some of the more aggressive decks I haven't had a problem with. The main thing I'm seeing is that when they drop Rest in Peace, it's almost game over. Unless I can get enough mana to cast creatures, I'm SoL. I threw Abrupt Decay in the SB bc that just seems like a good idea. Takes care of that and then we go back on our merry way of throwing creatures in the graveyard. I searched the thread but didn't find anything on Abrupt Decay. Has anyone found any negatives to playing this in the SB?

You mean besides the fact that you cascade into it with Outburst and Dread? Because that's what happens whenever you play cards with CMC < 3.
I know some folks will just say "screw it" and do it anyway because they want the quick answer to RiP that badly, but in all honesty, Rest in Peace isn't taking your guns away - it's just making them smaller. Living End is still a Plague Wind with RiP in play, and you can shift into a control role by keeping up your land drops (and it's okay to toss cyclers away to do this, by the way. It's not like you're going to run out.) and finding a Beast Within to get rid of the enchantment.
My list runs four Beast Within and it's my primary answer to Rest in Peace. If you feel like that's not enough, there are some other ways you can address the issue that don't involve running low-CMC cards. Wispmare is a good example, with its only downside being that it requires ready access to white mana. I could also see something like Reclamation Sage being useful, since it comes with a cascade-proof body and can hit stuff twice if you LE it back.
Whenever you want to include a card with CMC < 3 in your Living End list, you are probably ruining the deck. Beast Within is a card that you already have in your 60 and it answers RiP just fine. If that's not enough for you, there's always Krosan Grip, which is also proof against counterspells.

Yes, of course! Krosan Grip! For some reason I keep forgetting that's a card we can play.
Thanks guys! This is exactly why I came here to ask. I threw Krosan Grip in the cart last night as an option. Looks like that's the way I'll go! Seems like the best answer and doesn't have the giving them the beast token drawback.
You can tell I'm new to LE haha. Totally forgot about cascading into it.

probably my meddling since i was the first one to bring sage up several pages back.
but does the enchantment/artifact hate have to be counter spell proof? thats the bigger question i believe. having legs is kind of a good plus.
the important detail ur forgetting with grip is beyond being counter proof, its also reaction proof! relic of progenitus can't be cracked in response to you destroying it if you use a krosan grip

Similarly, Krosan Grip stops the Splinter Twin combo, where anything not split-second doesn't. Being both instant-speed and reaction-proof is big in that matchup.
