Odds/Ends is super spicey. I think ends might be too slow for something like Boggles but a 2 for 1 seems good if not expensive. Odds strikes me more interesting. Seems like it is a good trump in a counter war, but could have some random value. I might play it just for the shock factor. Haha

LOL. I've tried Odds // Ends before too for exactly the things you described. It was randomly alright.
I find it interesting that you don't have Ghost Quarter or Tectonic Edge. Do you not worry or have to deal with Inkmoth & Blinkmoth Nexus?
Inkmoth is definitely a strong reason to play Ghost Quarter but I feel that you can never play enough ways to pitch Emrakul if you draw her (another reason why I really want to play Izzet Charm). Not only is she a dead draw but good players can keep gravehate up to exile Emrakul, and Thoughtseize into eating Em with Scooze has happened to me a few times
It's minor but having that single worse-than-a-brick card in your deck is still something I really dislike about the Nahiri plan, even if it doesn't come up that often it just feels REALLY bad. I still really like the idea of running one less Nahiri and cutting Emrakul to make room for 2 or 3 brutal 6-drop haymakers that do not win the game on the spot like Em does but do pull you far ahead. Imagine a package of Inferno Titan, Aetherling and Captain of the Watch to tutor up depending on the boardstate or to just windmillslam lategame
Greetings!
I'm looking to get a new deck for my modern plays. Would like something that has a good play vs aggro and not bad vs Jund/Tron. How would you say - which build of UWR is better for that purposes?

The Tron match-up is very bad but you could play a very hateful sideboard if you like.
Jim Davis went 9:0 @day1 with jeskai nahiri. Sadly the list isn't only yet, but I think it's something with anger/timely split main.
I recall the commentators saying how he was playing 3 Lightning Helix main but I guess it's still entirely possible he's running Anger of the Gods and/or Timely Reinforcements. Looking forward to seeing his list though.

Cut something else. 4 Snaps is a requirement. Clique is better to remove, but I still think it's beneficial to the list. If you have any leftover Cryptics, cut them first.

4 snap, 3 nah, 1 emmy? - 8 threats.
Dude im still playing 4 cryptics lol. Its tha bees knees.Has it really fallen out of the limelight? Couldnt imagine UWR without that card or maybe I suck at evaluating
I've personally cut Cryptic from my list completely. I love the card, but it's just too slow and demanding of our mana base in this current meta.
To quote myself from earlier, I feel like Jeskai Control is a very "proactive" kind-of control, while something like Esper Control is much more "reactive". Black in Esper gives them less ways to attack and more ways to defend. Red in Jeskai gives us less ways to defend and more ways to attack. It's just the nature of the color combinations we're using. Because of this, it seems better for us to embrace the proactive style, so that instead of playing a typical draw go control game, we're trying to make our opponent sweat by playing a little more aggressively. Draw Go is just much better being played in something like Esper Control than it is here these days. We've got powerful threats in cards like Helix, Bolt, and Nahiri. We might as well be threatening.
He punted in the game against Jessup, there was no reason for him to just chump with the snap. He would have had the blocker needed to survive another turn (that ancestral comes off) and would have had a decent chance to win. His misplay has nothing to do with Ancestral.
Its just like a page or two ago when someone said they didn't think Nahiri wasn't good because his opponents were misplaying and he didn't evaluate Nahiri properly. If you don't play well, then of course the cards in it won't look good.

Agreed. I still don't like AV, but it is interesting to see many of the Jeskai Nahiri lists running them at these events now. I think out of SV and AV, I'd still rather run SV myself.
Anticipate isn't a bad card at all. Instant speed selection is a huge boon to a deck like URW control, especially when paired with 2 CMC counters since there is the play pattern of:
hold up 2 mana : if they play something counter it : if not anticipate eot : profit
Might be worth trying out the next time I get to play. Something like a 3 Visions, 2 Anticipate split. Or vice versa.
As for the versions of the deck playing maindeck AV. I think AV is definitely at the power level to include in the main deck, my only issue is that you have to make concessions to its weaknesses and make some deck building decisions to align with its strategic presence. For instance running more sweepers and catch up cards, and being a little on the more reactive side when considering the spectrum of URW builds.
I think if more people played jund in my area i'd def convert to the AV type build.

I haven't seen any list with Anticipate making it to a top 8 recently.
That's because so few people think it's good. A lot of people say it's bad even. But is it? I've played around with it myself and have had some pretty good games. It's just a hard card to judge being that when you use it, it's great, but you don't seem to find time to use it often, being that it costs two.
I don't think we'll ever no for sure if it has the power to be a Modern mainstay simply because it's so underrated.

If two of the people who think it's good are respectively ranked #1 in the world and at the top of the SCG standings, I think it would be wise not to ignore them.

Good in the mirror? It literally only stops a Nahiri ultimate.

I was referring to the "Good in the mirror" statement. I agree it has other applications outside of the mirror.
