Serious question. Why the heck do we run Leyline of Sanctity? Burn isn't fast enough if we have 4 swan songs between the main and the side. BGx decks we could just run Noxious Revivals instead, does the same thing, but better to draw those later than leylines.
For me it was mostly because I had more sideboard slots than I knew what to do with, and there's occasionally a guy at my LGS that plays 8rack. I'm also not sure I agree that revival is as good against BGx.
That's fair. What is good against BGx decks? Revival creatures duplicates of cards, which 1-for-1 denies their hand disruption's selection. I'm not 100% sold on Days Undoing, haven't put it into practice against BGx as of yet.
Just a random thought, would just throwing in a playset of Gitaxian Probes along with the Serum Visions help the deck in general? More digging and it technically reduces the deck down to 56 cards to find those 7 Second Sunrises / 4 Engines
The sideboard is still wonky right now. Right now it's just 2 Swan Songs.
U shouldn't cut 1 cmc eggs, doing that u lose a lot of consistency.
Against BGx the best we can do is Leyline of Sanctity. It locks 6-7 discard spells, Kolaghan's Command and Liliana's ulti. And it doesn't cost us mana, so we won't lose tempo to protection. Day's Undoing works fine, but I won't play more than 1-2 copies in 75.
I'm pretty happy with the list. Sideboard needs a tad more testing, but I like the pyroclasms. I also like the weird setups you can create once you go infinite.

Nice write-up on your version.
I have to be honest: when I first looked at your eggs list when you posted it in the Lantern thread, I thought "This looks nice. He seems to miss a wincon though."
Another deck I'd love to try, but looks horrible to play on Modo. ^^

Tired of losing to natural Tron or getting turn 2'd by Infect?
Standard infinite combos giving you a headache and the opponent always has Force of Will?
No matter the issue, there is one simple trick to solve all of your Magic problems!!
~~~To get in on the secret to eternal luck, skill and victory, just follow this link!!~~~
U can't play 8 Chromatic Stars
Instead od Defense Grid + Grinding Station I would play Codex Shedder + Pyrite Spellbomb. Both are win conditions but also have some value outside just winning. Codex will let u make infintie loop with 9 mana and Reward, Pyrite Spellbomb can kill problematic creatures like Eidolon.
And it's preference but I think that Conjurer's Bauble is better than Terrarion, I would play at least 1 Bauble (for infinite loops) but they are generally better becouse without KCI can draw card the same turn.
I like banefire and grinding station Md due to them being the least disrupt-able kill conditions we have available. and if i think my opponent will pull some white tech like Leyline or something else, ill side in emrakul for the lawls
mutavault was a relic from an older iteration of the deck, and I didn't fix the mana base yet. Regardless, I actually like having a man land in the deck in-case things get a little hairy it can be used to block, or swing at a planeswalker. but as I think about it, Inkmoth would be a better choice since it can block flying and it becomes an artifact, so double better
I'm pretty happy with the list. Sideboard needs a tad more testing, but I like the pyroclasms. I also like the weird setups you can create once you go infinite.
I really like this take on the deck, since it doesn't waste slots, and includes dig (visions) and protection (swan song) MD. I made 2 changes in order to rock it on modo.
Main deck I need a way to win that is not mill since I will time out. Since we only need the second mode of Codex Shredder, I cut bauble.
The SB change is simply a concession to the clock. I don't like it as plan A, but it allows us to win faster. Spellbomb is better since it allows us to win on their turn if needed and also can be tutored with reshape.
I played two 2 man queues and won both, soul sisters and mono green stuff. The Emrakul sb plan came up in The first match as he martyred of sands when I was going off g2 and goes to 41...that would have been a lot of clicking with Spellbomb.
Any other suggestions for changes to be made, with play online in mind?
Edit: After reading back through the thread, I think I will try to cut one more SB slot for Laboratory Maniac. This would provide a third way for victory around weirdness of board, against Pillow Fort / Lantern Control / Extirpate effects. This is obviously vulnerable as discussed, but as always, only if we don't draw Ghost Quarter. Thoughts here?
y may run Altar of the Brood on mo it will take 2 or 3 minutes less than Pyrite Spellbomb
when y get a lot of triggers out from alter in which it has other kinds of triggers whatsoever first click it and put into stack,then press f7 mo will put those all in the stack
I do see how Altar of the Brood could be faster, but I would not run it instead of Pyrite Spellbomb, since that can deal with early creature threats on it's own. If anything, I'm considering how to play 2 Pyrite Spellbomb MD, without ruining the consistency of the deck.
So, I decided to play this deck at my LGS for fun. I had never played Eggs before, but I read Zac Elsik's guide to comboing and goldfished around 10 times at home. I played at a 39 person FNM, for 6 rounds.
Round 1 vs. Affinity. I lose the die roll. He kills me on turn 4 when I have double Lotus Bloom with 1 counter each. I also had 3 eggs and Faith's Rewards, so it was likely that I would have won. In the next game, I attempt to go off early for no apparent reason (since it was pretty clear that I could not be killed on his turn 4. I draw some lands and 2 Lotus Bloom and lose. My next card? Faith's Reward, followed by an Open the Vaults. Punt #1. 0-2.
Round 2 vs. Mono White Death and Taxes. I kept a 1 land hand with Mox Opal. I play some 1 mana eggs, but never see another land. He plays turn 2, Thalia, Guardian of Thraben and I draw 3 straight Ichor Wellspring with 2 active mana. In the next game, I do punt #2. He plays turn 2 Kataki, War's Wage. I sort of "gave up" here. I spend a turn tapping to save Darksteel Citadel and 2 eggs, but I try to go off the next turn in response to the Kataki trigger. I fail to find Faith's Reward and lose easily. All I had to do was wait another turn, as I wasn't under too much duress. I was just kind of scared at what else he would draw that would mess with my combo. My next card? Faith's Reward, believe it or not. 0-2.
Round 3 vs. Infect. I win the die roll. I mull to 6. I go off on turn 3, after having 5 poison from his turn 2. In the next game, he doesn't have Glistener Elf, but has Blighted Agent. He puts me at 6 poison on turn 3. I win on turn 3. 2-0.
Round 4 vs. Grixis Twin. In the first game, I make a grave mistake of not at least trying Open the Vaults/Swan Song. I was just terrified of double Remand. I basically had several eggs and KCI in play, so it was dumb not to try. EoT Bolt + SCM/Bolt, which I Swan Song. Swing with that and Pestermite. Bolt + Grim Lavamancer activation is lethal. I die with Open the Vaults in hand. In the next game, I attempt to go off. I even Faith's Reward 4 times, but since my only egg was Conjurer's Bauble for a while, I couldn't find what I needed and lose with 4 lands in hand and 1 Lotus Bloom. I also had the remaining basics in play from Ghost Quartering my basics during the Rewards. 0-2.
Round 5 vs. Bogles. In the first game, I go off on turn 4 after he has lethal with a Bogle the next turn. I actually got pretty lucky here, as once again, I had only Conjurer's Bauble at first. I ended up casting 6 Faith's Rewards before I was safe, drawing KCI and egg after egg. In the next game, he kills me on turn 4. I had no chance of going off on turn 3, so I didn't try. In the final game, he has Bogle + Rancor and Bogle on turn 2. I consider for a moment just trying to further my board, as I have a bunch of eggs and Faith's Reward. Luckily I do Pyroclasm instead - the reason being that Bogles has a tough time finding more creatures to make up for the creatures that have died. I was lucky to do this because it bought me a few turns before Kor Spiritdancer came down and put a clock. I drew 2 Lotus Bloom and all of the remaining basic lands early, so I wasn't as safe as possible, but the Pyroclasm got me there and I comboed with a lethal Kor Spiritdancer on the field. 2-1.
Round 6 vs. Grixis Twin. This was my favorite match of the night. I get a bunch of eggs. I have 1 card in hand. He makes a grave mistake of going for an upkeep tap with Deceiver Exarch on one of 2 Lotus Bloom that came off suspend, leaving only 1 Ghost Quarter up. I use my last card for Faith's Rewards and basically go off. I get value, then go to the draw step and win around 5 minutes later after demonstrating the loop. He thought that the win-con was Pyrite Spellbomb, so he needed to see what it was. The next game was pretty crazy as well. I cast KCI after a bunch of eggs again. I allowed it to be Remanded twice, despite having Swan Song in hand, because I wanted all the mana I could. KCI gets Countersqualled the next turn. I draw another, but it is getting close. He goes for the kill by attacking and Bolt, SCM/Bolt for exact lethal on his turn. I Swan Song the Bolt and I have a chance to go off, at 3 life. I try to go off with Open the Vaults in hand and when I do, it is close because the eggs draws were not the best. I end up with exactly 4WW, which was enough. I cast it and he basically sees the writing on the wall. He realizes that he may have punted by going for the SCM/Bolt plan because he had another SCM in hand. We figured out that he would need 7 mana to do SCM/Dispel and SCM/Countersquall because I would have had that Swan Song still. He only had 6 mana, so it wasn't really a punt. This guy was really cool and gave me a foil Pyrite Spellbomb after the match. 2-0.
I finish 3-3, 19th out of 39 players, which was rough. But I understand the deck a bit better and realize that there were a LOT of punts. Also I really don't know what to side out especially, but also siding in occasionally. In any given match that I played, I only sided out 1 egg at most, but I did side out 1 Open the Vaults quite often. Is there some sort of sideboarding guide to this deck?
Legacy - Sneak Show, BR Reanimator, Miracles, UW Stoneblade
Premodern - Trix, RecSur, Enchantress, Reanimator, Elves https://www.facebook.com/groups/PremodernUSA/ Modern - Neobrand, Hogaak Vine, Elves
Draft - (I wish I had more time for limited...)
Commander - Norin the Wary, Grimgrin, Adun Oakenshield (taking forever to build) (dead format for me)
Post board games tends to be slower, so i usually board out ~2 mox opal and ~1 lotus bloom, then some weaker eggs (chromatic sphere, terrarion). If you bring in Thopter Foundry, you can board out Conjurer's Bauble.
