This mana base has given me the most consistent play. Sideboard hate for major decks and plenty of burn to get the job done. I think it is a very solid deck and very capable of beating or competing with almost any deck out there.
I also play Melira Pod but I'm not positive (yet) that I'm efficient enough to be competitive with it. But this may change in between then as I am also building BW Tokens. I run RWB Burn on modo a good bit and always have fun playing it.
As for the Deathrite, I'd rather run another burn spell. 8 Creatures is plenty for me. I frequently side out Vexing Devil for more burn.
Not seeing what burn you are bringing in from the side?
You seem to have a lot of artifact/enchant hate in the side, which makes you very meta dependant.
In terms of burn your least efficient are Helix and Magma Jet with Searing Blaze being an option instead of either (I personally hate it but it has its uses). There is also Blood Moon to consider. Apart from that you run almost exactly what I run.
I definitely understand your confusion of my list. This is shaped, especially the sideboard, for my local meta ATM. The worst matchups for me have been Affinity and anything that drops Leyline at the start of the game.
The other burn that I was referring to is mainly land destruction. Tron and scapeshift need their lands and I can take them from them plus do damage. If I play burn it won't be this exact list but a shell of this.
Also I don't understand why Helix and Magma Jet are inefficient. There is nothing worse than getting too many lands. Jet lets you get rid of that. And a two mana spell that gives you some life back can be the trump in the mirror (helix.) With the mana base the way it is I haven't had a problem getting the RW mana needed.
I definitely need work on the sideboard. It's difficult to know the meta when it's early modern season. I just put as much hate for my difficult matches in there. Blood Moon would hurt me as much as others as I only run mountain basics.
Any thoughts on RDW with a light blue splash for Rapid Hybridization/Pongify?
Interesting interactions:
Defensively, handles pro-red creatures and other fatties, while providing a Searing Blaze target. Offensively, adds value to Spark Elemental, Hellspark Elemental, and Keldon Marauders by targeting them after damage is dealt.
Situational card but 1 mana 3/3 may have potential in certain matchups. Color also gives access to Delver of Secrets.

Awesome, thanks for the advice. How is the Affinity match up? I feel like Shattering Spree is better at destroying Artifacts, but Smash to Smithereens is worse at destroying attracts, but it also does 3 damage. Thoughts?
Also, you have 10 cards that can kill Artifacts (among other things), do you board them all in?

Don't do it unless you plan on leaving the realm of RDW, sure it offers some cute interactions but if you're going to play Pongify or RH in a deck you'd rather it be a miser's singleton in some control brew where all you're looking for is a way to turn a dude into a vanilla token whose status as a 3/3 body is totally irrelevant. Here you're just going down in cards that'd actually help you win games just to do cute but inefficient things.
I'd sooner suggest Psionic Blast, and even then Char completely puts it out of a job unless you want to play a full set of both for some silly reason.
Actually, I wanna retract something on the splashing of blue.
According to MTGGoldfish some joker pulled off a Burn deck with 4x sideboard Countersqualls.
Now, the black component isn't exactly unusual, Bump in the Night and the drain half of Shaman comes from that. But... it's just unbelievably cute. Shock stapled to Negate, not exactly the hottest thing Burn has up its sleeves but sure as hell one of the last things anyone would expect from such a deck.
For this exact built the most concerning cards are Needle Drop and Temple of Triumph. Burn has a hard time with card advantage, so scry cards help us a bit. With that thought, having the chance to scry with Temple of Triumph and Magma Jet then Needle Drop into a draw step can help out a lot.
If this plan doesn't work then replacing needle drop with more Shard Volley and adding in Lightning Helix is okay.
Also, at one time I was considering playing Young Pyromancer. This benefits to this card could be huge, however I believe he is to slow for this format. That lead me to deciding between Keldon Marauders or Hellspark Elemental . Hellspark Elemental can get in for more damage and has trample, but like the primer says if they have a blocker then this card becomes nearly useless. So choosing Keldon Marauders seemed the better choice.
I have also seen some decks playing Searing Blaze . This card was in the list at one time but then was cut because I choose not to run fetches at this time hence making it less helpful.
Questions concerning this deck in the current meta:
What are our easy wins, our tough matches, and considerations as for building a SB to hate hard matches?
This primer hasn't been updated in almost a year. In all that time, however, Burn still remains a contender, putting up a GP T8 performance in the last 3 months and continuing to be one of the most-played MTGO decks. Does anyone want to update this primer and/or take over the OP? PM me if interested!

Still looking to test the deck out, hopefully doing it at the FNM this Friday. The more I look over it though, the more I want black in the deck mainly for Rakdos Charm in the SB, Bump in the Night is also a good Addition.
1: his life loss ability in a deck with lots of spells to exile for it fits burn perfectly
2: he counters opposing DRS/Ooze from gaining life (best reason for us to play the 1 stomping ground)
3: if you play the RWB version, sometimes its difficult to get the white mana and he helps out here as well
4: his lifeloss ability doesn't target the opponent. if they have leyline, use the burn on their creatures and DRS + other creatures to win
5: he's a maindeck weapon against persist and undying (and reanimator, dredge ...)
6: the only creature in our deck that can block a phyrexian crusader (this is a very minor concern, but this actually made me Top8 two GPT's)
7. He exiles opponent's instants and sorceries from the graveyard so Snapcaster Mage can't flash them back (see: Lightning Helix).
With that being said, I just managed to get my deathrites and fetches, so I'm now upgrading away from a budget list.
It's pretty straightforward. Sideboard is iffy, but my meta has a few jund/GBx, a UWr midrange, a kiki-pod, at least 1 affinity, lots of tron, at least 2 burn, and many more other decks that come and go.
I haven't had a chance to do any testing with this yet, but the big problems I see are:
1) Topdecking a GG or DRS late game. However, the early-game impact of GG and the sheer value of DRS seems to outweigh this problem. Magma Jet should help here.
2) Running Volcanic Fallout + DRS. Volcanic Fallout kills basically all of affinity, pestermites, Geists, delvers, and snapcasters (and it can't be countered!), but it also kills my DRS, which should be, I think, extremely useful in the twin/delver/UWr midrange matchup. I'm not sure if I should board out the DRS for Volcanic Fallout in these matchups, or board out something else?
3) Killing scoozes and goyfs is difficult. I thought about running both Searing Blaze and Volcanic Fallout in order to take care of this problem (and having both will take care of affinity pretty well), but I' rather not have to play around remand with my searing blazes, so I didn't want it taking up room in my 75. (Feel free to convince me otherwise.) Against GBx/Jund, I usually just hide behind an ensnaring bridge and hope they don't draw a pulse or abrupt decay.
4) The sideboard in general. Weirdly enough, the mirror is the most worrying matchup for me, as I think that I can't rely on technical skill as much and it comes down to luck more so than other matchups. But should I devote SB slots to Dragon's Claw? If I took anything out, I'd probably take out the Torpor Orbs, I suppose.
What do you guys think about the spoiled card "searing blood?" Its a better searing blaze an has enough targets to make it legit and doesnt require a land drop.
I plan on being at this GP as well. I might be running a deck similar to this.
