Hi guys! Up until now I played only EDH and Legacy, now I'm moving in modern and I'd like to play UR Twin.
For budgetary reasons I cannot afford some cards, and I'd like to ask you what are your thoughts about my list:
Or Disolve. Closer to the cryptic cost and is still counter + effect (not nearly as good as draw but at least it's fixing your next draw).
Friendly reminder: No budget talk is allowed outside of the Budget subforum. This will be a warnable/infractable offense starting on 2/9. For more information, see the announcement at the top of the forum, or the MTGS rules thread:
Well lately the talk has been UR/b or UR/w and some TarmoTwin, but you seem to want to build a UR version. I was wondering if you would rather run a all in or a tempo version of the deck if you stick to UR.

FWIW I've been running a grixis version, and Olivia Voldaren has been impressive. She hits the board and the deck moves to a more control role. If she lives she steals all their cool stuff or kills their little dudes. Very solid synergy with Deceiver, pinging him to pump. Spellskites are usually boarded in at the same time so everyone is safe. Yep, disruptive and a solid wincon.
Thanks for the reply.
In my meta there are not many control decks, and it's common to see rogue decks. In your opinion, what should I choose between tempo and all in?
No problem i find it annoying when someone don't reply even if it's a simple question :I makes learning or getting help a pain you know. I would suggest a All in style if your not worried about control decks popping in and wreaking your day, but what dead kitten says is true you will need Spellskites. The last All in Twin i saw was a deck on MTG top 8. It is easier imo if you learn the all in first then move towards tempo unless you have played tempo before.

Tried your list tonight, and it did pretty well against a Junk opponent. I mis-played it a bit, but I liked it. Sadly Tasigur never got to shine. I would be in favor of dropping him down by 1 to get in another terminate. What do you think?

How does that matter? The point is that there's no way for Tasigur to profitably deal with a creature like that. I'm not telling anyone to run a playset of Olivia. Just check it out before dismissing it.

Fair enough. I suppose it depends a bit on how the game is going and your play style. Tasigur certainly allows you to be more aggressive. I love shackles, though I'm not running any because I don't feel I run enough islands to make it as reliable as I'd like. That could be tuned of course. Maybe when I get my hands on Tasigur my mind will change. And to be clear, I'm not dismissing Tasigur v. Olivia, just giving another option and defending it.
Different strokes.

A few thoughts on Grixis. Dreadbore, how do you feel about this being a one of in the main. It is really targeted at Junk/Jund and maybe even G/R Tron. I like OV, but I am a littler worried since she is easily bolted and costs 4. Maybe a meta call between her and Tas. My meta has very few BGx, but a lot of control and some boggles (ugh), so I feel Tas would be better suited.

went 4-0 last night at a small 16 person event, but most of the players were pretty competitive and we are all practicing for GP Vancouver so I think its a good representation of the field. Im going Grixis and here's my list:
2-0 vs G/R Tron : these are pretty easy games, just play it through the motions and use deceiver exarch to tap down their lands in their up keep or their oblivion stone in the end step before you combo
2-1 vs burn : close matches, won the first game off the combo and the second off Tasigur beats with a creeping tar pit. Just gotta watch the fetching a bit
2-0 vs tribal zoo : First game i was able to just block with Tasigur until It was super safe to combo and the second game he just got land screwed and I remanded 3 creatures in a row (geist into geist into Rhino attempt) while I killed him with Tasigur
2-1 vs Tarmo Twin : also very close games, these are grindy and where terminate really shines to get rid of that early tarmo
What do you guys think of the deck? Other than Junk what are our hardest matchups? As i said earlier I'm practicing for GP Vancouver so any help is appreciated.
Couple questions,
Is there a point in having Dismember over another Terminate. I know you can cast it for 1 mana, but paying the extra mana over 4 life seems just better.
Is there a reason to run Kiki and just 3 Splinter Twins? I always thought Kiki was unneeded in in Twin based decks.
What about Inquisition vs Thoughtsieze?
So i dont have Cryptic, is it totally needed? or can I just jam 2 more Snapcasters or something like that instead?
Is Blightning any good? Maybe a 1 of in the main. or maybe somewhere in the side?
I'm less Tempo and running a Dreadbore in both the main and side. I like it. There's a bit of BGx in my meta and it's not terrible vs Zoo. I'm down to 2 Bolts so I have the room for this kind of stuff. With Goyfs, Rhinos and now Tas all running amuck, Bolt just isn't what it used to be. Prob more a meta call than anything. I'm down to 2 Snaps as well.

That's about as stock a list as you can possibly get (a good thing).
I disagree with boarding out spellskites in the mirror, but his reasoning is sound.
Other than that, fantastic deck, explanation, and sideboarding guide.
