Hey guys, this may not be the place for this question just let me know and I'll delete it.
I am going to my lgs for modern on Wednesday night. The last time I was there it turned out to be a room full of burn, combo goblins (turn 2 empty the warrens for 5 storm count), pyrexian zoo, merfolk, and affinity.
Now my question is, how to you set up your side board to handle the weirdly consistent combo goblins and the pyrexin zoo.
I am thinking a grixis list might be in order so I could had bile blight and dark blast.
From my testings 4 tasigur was alright, as long as you play 4 thought scour to support them.
Turn 2 tasigur is one of the best things you can do in this deck as its either a really fast clock or forces the opponent to use path on him, which is a huge ramp for you especially in the early turns!
I do really like the idea of playing fulminator mage instead of molten rain in the sideboard. Twin on him seems awesome! 😄
Concerning affinity-hate: is vandalblast the best option we have with URB? I do think so.
Shatterstorm is pretty big artifact hate.

No idea because my favorite decks keep getting banned or having the rules changed against them
Sure, there is a chance of spending $4 on a booster and getting the Mythic Rare $30 super card. There is also a chance of surviving putting your tongue in a light socket.
The BGx matchups. Threads only steal goyfs and bobs, while sowers can steal rhinos and tasigurs as well. Threads also die to abrupt decay which sower doesn't, though sower is more vulnerable to creature removal. Threads can be IOK'd but not sowers.
Thanks! I think thought scours are the weakest card in the deck and they are flex spots that you can play any one or two mana spell in its place. Charm is fine.
Nice list. Please let me know how you fare with the deck. I am trying to decide whether to do the black splash or white splash. Was initially going for the white splash for valorous stance and better sb options such as leyline and stuff but after looking at the black splash, i'm kinda interested to see how it will work out with the black splash especially since I managed to get a playset of Tasigur cheap at about $6 USD ea at a shop yesterday. The shop actually priced it wrongly and forgot to change the price after they restocked but they decided to still give me the cheap price which I saw and ordered it for and changed the price after that. Nice shop.
I did try a grixis version before with all the discards but it felt bad though as you neither can reliablely go off or aggro your way with a win but with Tasigur, it certainly look more interesting and less reliant on the combo so I look forward to see how you guys fare with this new deck tech..
And also would you consider slaughter games as a possible SB choice as well?
I know everyone is talking about Tasigur right now but has anyone tried Monastery Siege yet? That seems like a sideboard card since it only seems like it would be good against fair decks. Both abilities are pretty relevant for twin.
Every time new cards get released that could be helpful to us, they should be tested. Blood Moon is cool and all but more colors gives us more versatility but less stability. deck building and testing is about balancing the trade offs.

Jacob Wilson taking rug twin throught affinity, tron and 8-rack. Losing to tron and 8-rack. He seems to not know how to play the deck. He does things like tops keranos vs tron, goes for the full combo package vs affinity postboard etc. Some sideboarding errors even though his play was decent. Still think its a decent watch but definitaly take it with a grain of salt.

the combo is good against affinity in any case, i don't like the side in vs 8-rack of 5manacost spell....
btw i don't like he's list, 1 mana leak and 2 flame slash
Not saying its incorrect to have it in by any stretch but I like shaving it since they always bring in some hate. I have seen all kinds of nonsense from affinity to stop the combo. Spellskite, dismember, thoughtseize, torpor orb, dispatch, slaughter pact, illness in the ranks, spell pierce etc. I always shave my list of 5 twiddlers 3 twin to 2 twin 4 twiddlers before I go cutting things like tarmogoyf and cantrips. I also bring in batterskull. Generally I just become a control deck that wins with goyf or batterskull and has access to the combo.

Shatterstorm is pretty big artifact hate.
Maybe I am playing wrong, but U-tron and UWR control are tough matchups for me. I don't think I have beaten them yet.
