I think you get a lot of free wins by having blood moon in the main, and I wanted more islands to make shackles a reasonable card. I am considering dropping the flame slashes and I am looking for some input. I like lavamancer, but I thought that I would rather have shackles and blood moon in the main, although it is possible that I may want at least 1 lavamancer in there somewhere, as well as a card like peek.
If you can't afford fetches but DO want to run grim lavamancer, which in UR twin seems like a very good idea to me I'd consider some number of faithless looting to feed it and dig. I don't play twin though so I think someone should probably back me up or suggest something else. It also may be that grim is not worth trying to force into the list.
In general, you can build 2-color modern decks without fetches by substituting the appropriate other duals.
Once you hit three or more colors, however, it becomes much harder to achieve the same level of consistency. You can probably get away with a three-color green deck thanks to green's mana tutors, but other than that you should really acquire fetches.
Peek vs Probe Which card is better and in which scenarios or which version of Twin deck would you choose to use probe over peek or vice versus? And what will be the factors that you would take into consideration when you are choosing over this 2 cards? Thank you.
Has anyone tried Spreading Seas in the RUG list, or just in UR? I'm playing RUG and I've been looking for a way to fit one or two, but I can't seem to make space.
I find that Flame Slash being sorcery speed too often screws me over when it's needed the most, like EOT Restoration Angel or a Linvala/Spellskite fetched by Chord of Calling. Has anybody tried Char or Psionic Blast in its place? I hate flame slash enough that I'm inclined to pay 2 more mana and take the extra damage just to cast it instant speed.
I've been testing RUG twin and the oozes haven't been fantastic. Has anyone considered cutting them from the deck all together? Goyf is insane though.
I cut out one and replaced it with vendilion clique. I hesitate to cut them out altogether because its such a good card against the pod decks. Ooze won me a couple games yesterday but I agree it is sometimes underwhelming.
After playing with 2 Bloodmoon and 1 Veldalken Shackles in a Tempo Twin Shell (like the one that Dickman and Mackl used at Minneapolis) I decided to give this build a try
It's basically a marriage between Blue Moon and Twin. Shaun McLaren used a similiar approach to his UWR Control, placing the kiki combo into a control shell without throwing off the plan too badly. I cut down on Snapcaster Mage because I play now less cheap draw spells and focus more on control rather than tempo. but it can certainly play the tempo role as well if need be.
What do you guys think of twisted image and do you guys think it have a place in the Twin deck?
And another question regarding mana base, I have seen list running cascade bluffs. In what situation will a twin deck actually use that card? When they have kiki in the deck?
Cascade bluffs helps with both Kiki and Cryptic mana. Or, on the fringe chance it is your only red source on board and you need to cast twin. I always thought of it as a one-of type card.
That list looks really interesting. Why is running spreading seas something that we like? And keranos, it seems pretty durdly on paper but people have been saying its really good. Whats the lure?

Friends and I have recently started getting in to modern, and I have previously played UR combo decks in Standard, so figured UR twin was a good choice.
I do not have a huge budget to blow on playing the deck, but I do have access to playsets of Remand,Spell Pierce, Echoing Truth, Flame Slash, and a 1 of Batterskull that will be going in to the sideboard as well as most cards in standard.
My local meta currently consists of a Burn player, Soul Sisters and an Infect deck, which all seem pretty good against splinter twin. 2 Auriok Championsand I am not able to win. Echoing Truthwould be quite handy there I suppose
Engineered Explosives is one of the cards that tends to help against random decks the most, which is why it earned its sideboard slot. It kills off auriok champions quite well, so try it out rather than Echoing Truth.

Keranos is not fast, but that's not really a problem. The games you want to bring him in are when you expect it to go long because your opponent has answers to everything. They will generally be the same matches where you board out most of the combo and grind out the opponent - Keranos is good there because he's almost impossible to remove. Those decks don't put a lot of pressure on you, so he doesn't have to win quick because the game will take a while anyway and he'll be able to stick around.
