I think the consensus plan of most Twin decks vs. BG/x is to transform into more of a midrange deck. I think Geist is a liability against BG. They have resilient creatures to block, and Liliana to edict. I would board out Geist for more stuff like Batterskull, Restoration Angel/Blade Splicer, Swords, and other more midrange-y cards.
How did you like Keranos? Seems like he comes in the exact same match-ups as Batterskull. Keranos seems better when you're at parity and Batterskull seems better when you're behind. Keranos is harder to deal with though.
Seems like an awesome card against jund and uwr, they litterally cant kill him (well, uwr can do it but i think that detention sphere is not played a lot)

There aren't enough spells for that to be reasonable. Patrick's current UR list runs 18 instants/sorceries. TarmoTwin could have delvers thrown into it, but the spell count would likely still be low at around 22. It's way too hard to flip a delver in a deck like this one and without real permission to protect one, that part of a tempo game is way too fragile and unreliable.

The creature suite: For Tarmo Twin, the choice is pretty clear. Four Tarmogoyf, four Snapcaster Mage, 6 out of Deceiver Exarch and Pestermite, plus another 2-4 value creatures. Personally I favor the 2/1 flyer; almost every deck plays Lightning Bolt anyway, so the added toughness is not a selling point. Clique on the other hand is really just value.
I 100% agree with you on Scavenging Ooze I think its underrated in this deck as it's more effective then gofy against pod.
Personally I am not a big fan of electrolyze. In my experience I was always unhappy to see it and it wasn't working in my combo/control focused meta. I replaced electrolyze with a Vendilion and I have been really happy with the decision so far.
I'm playing UR twin and I can't believe I didn't think of twisted image. It has a lot of utility. Also interested in Keranos. Will definitely be play testing this.
this is the decklist I run but jund has anger, thrun, and alot of discard I find this matchup terribly hard for us. this probably being the reason to play tarmo twin except goyfs are way too expensive.
@ hellfire I'm running a fairly similar list as you. Bloodmoon is one if the best cards to resolve against them. I feel it's a fine matchup, at least better than jund by far.
New to modern here, looking to buy in, but the land base is just so steep...wondering if I didn't play the 4x Tarns/Rainforests, which lands would go in, and how much of a difference would it make to the consistency of the deck?
Depends on which kind of Twin. U/R twin without fetches is basically the same just uses the U/R pain land instead of fetches. You lose out on the land thinning aspect and can take extra damage from the lands, but overall not a big deal for the budget minded player.
When you get into three color it starts to become a much larger issue of consistency. RUG plays Kiki Jiki(RRR), Cryptic Command (UUU) and a bunch of green cards so having your colors exactly when you need them is important.
it doesn't make too much of a difference. you can play the full set of steam vents and sulfur falls and you'll hit all your colors reliably. with your filter through serum visions and draw with remand/cryptic, you should be okay. the land thinning does matter just a tiny bit, but if you're not playing super competitively, it'll suffice.

The deck thinning you get from fetches is not that relevant to be honest. You will want fetches if you play grim lavamancers in your 75. It is also useful to play fetches so you can get basics and run bloodmoon to screw your opponent. Some versions run a singleton breeding pool so they can flashback ancient grudge. That is what you will miss out if you don't have them
Like what the rest said, you can choose to run painlands and maybe 1-2 filterlands as alternative
I've removed the oozes finally for a desolate lighthouse and I added back the electrolyze. I've been wanting to play lighthouse forever and I think it's well worth the slot. Maybe if the metagame changes I will work oozes back in, but for now they aren't all that amazing.
I swapped the sideboard negate for the second counterflux both due to the high number of spell snares seeing play and to deal with scapeshift a bit better. It's also nice that they can counter a restoration angel from UWR or a goyf in the mirror.
