@fizzlemage
as KrosanGrip have already said, the mana is fragile as it is, but i can see some combination of razorverge Thicket / Caves of Koilos / Llanowar Wastes / Brushland working. Perhaps with Verdant Catacombs to hold it together. Need some tuning, of course, but I would start with that.
I'm also curious about Phyrexian Unlife. Melira would prevent the poison counters, so while both remain in play, you wouldn't die of 0 life and all further damage would be prevented?
It would prevent the damage caused by creatures. Spells like Lightning Bolt would still deal "infect" damage to you.
Guys, what you thinks about the Yixlid Jailer in side, agains storm (turn off the flashback), loam, and flashback guys like the artist tokens and decks with snapcaster. Is really god?
Yup, Persist dodges it, so Jailer doesn't affect Finks or Redcap. Jailer also doesn't affect Reveillark at all. It might screw UR Storm's Flashback and definitely screws Life from the Loam's Dredge, but it doesn't do a thing to Living End and looks fairly dumb in the mirror. Make sure you also stick a Linvala in the board.
Hi all, I'm impressed with this deck's capability and have tried to create one from scratch with reference from GP's Andrew Cuneo's list.
Unfortunately, I've limited budget and unable to get the fetchlands and chord of callings...need some advice on the manabase. I like Abundant Growth for it's card advantage and making any land capable of producing any colors.
Also, I've realised that Wall of Roots does not interact with Melira, the 0/-1 counters would still be added. Am I wrong?

Be thankful Wall of Roots doesn't interact with Melira, or it wouldn't produce mana with Melira in play. With Hypothetical Root Wall, you can't pay the cost of placing -1/-1 counters on it with Melira out, so you can't make mana with it at all.
This is why Devoted Druid is nerfed with Melira out.

Hi guys
if my finks has a -1-1 counter and i play melira, the counter stays on the finks. bot now, if i pod finks does the persist works? when finks enters the battlefield is the counter removed?
and another thing: does phyrexian metamorph also copies the CMC? can i use it to cheat the pod chain?
Metamorph's CMC is 4, the phyrexian mana still counts. And because finks already had a -1/-1 counter it wouldn't come back once it hits the graveyard.
I don't remember seeing this in earlier discussions, but what's the general consensus about Lotus Cobra? It seems to me that we play enough fetches to make it useful, and even more so if Knight of the Reliquary is in there as well. In an ideal world, T1 BoP, T2 Lotus, fetch-cobra float2, tap land for 3 and then we have any 3CMC (or Pod if you want to pay the life). Certainly faster than Wall of Roots, but much more fragile.
Especially in a deck that has a lower curve and does not need the bigger ramp, Lotus Cobra is too unreliable. Sometimes, you stick a Cobra and your third land does not come. Other times, Cobra gets Bolted (imagine a day when all your BoPs get Bolted, but worse). Cobra also can't wall stuff (it also encourages a suicidal mana base, but Melira Pod's mana base is pretty suicidal anyway).
I've had more success with Lotus Cobra in Twin Pod because its combo pieces have higher cmcs, but I'm even thinking of pulling it for Wall of Roots there because it's quite unreliable and I didn't really need the explosive starts, anyway. Plus, Twin Pod can play a non-suicidal mana base effectively, and the life loss from fetches and shocks has gotten to me.
I'd stick with Wall of Roots or Noble Hierarch (4 BoPs are a must) in a deck that doesn't need the huge ramp.

Interesting. I've got a budget (missing mainly the lands) version of Melira pod now, and I'm really liking what it can do. It's pretty resilient, as far as creature based combos go. But yea, thanks for the advice; don't feel like dropping the $$ on a card that won't get me there.

Yes, it does. Wall of Roots works perfectly with Melira. A card that wouldn't work, for exemple, is Devoted Druid.
It would prevent the damage caused by creatures. Spells like Lightning Bolt would still deal "infect" damage to you.
No, the card says: "You can't get poison counters". So, it only works for it's controller.
Melira, Sylvok Outcast specifically says "You can't get poison counters." This means that even Bolts can't do a thing to you win Unlife out. Lovely!
Yeah, that's right. Sorry :/

Jailer seems like a meta call.
Not important, just wanted to share with you guys
Also, nice matchup analysis Lectrys. Thanks!

No Wall of Roots doesn't interact with Melira, Sylvok Outcast because it puts -0/-1 instead of -1/-1 counters. (I wish it did though lol)

Yes. Metamorph becomes a copy of the creature or artifact, including the mana cost.
Using that example, if you copy a BOP, then pod MetamorphedBOP, you woud search for something with a converted mana cost 2.
Opinions?
