great article! for the first time I'm actually thinking of running this deck not as mono blue! not looking forward to having to pay those fetchlands :/

After watching Truckis cast a turn 5 chandra and then plus her into an exhaustion, it would seem shes worth splashing red for as a win con even in the non-Foretold versions of the deck.
She is effectively the best 2-mana walker they will probably ever print. Blows tibalt out of the water.
We've got matchups and sideboard info starting to trickle into the primer. I can only apologise that it wasn't finished last weekend. My work requires me to go in on some weekends and last weekend it happened to be one of them. Also I had a death in the family. My schedule is pretty crazy.
I won't have time to trawl through all the comments i've missed while i've been working, so if any of you fine ladies and gents feel there's a tidbit that needs addressing in the primer, please PM me and paste in a chunk of the relevant comment. Decklists, cards, strategies. anything.
things i've already got my eye on: As Foretold - obviously some chatter about the card. I managed to see about 25 seconds of someone playing it on stream and was naturally quite excited. blessed alliance - very powerful effect, worth the mention censor - potentially worthwhile just because of the cycling irrigated farmland - similarly, these cycling cards could give the deck velocity where it didn't have it before.... maaaaybe.
anyway it's nearly midnight here where I live, i'm going to crash. Tomorrow I'm going to do some more and then I've got to travel home to my family & sort out funeral etc.

Modern: G Tron, Vannifar, Jund, Druid/Vizier combo, Humans, Eldrazi Stompy (Serum Powder), Amulet, Grishoalbrand, Breach Titan, Turns, Eternal Command, As Foretold Living End, Elves, Cheerios, RUG Scapeshift
I made some changes to my list and got a nice 4-1 at FNM last night. I did something I never thought I'd do and completely cut Snapcasters and Cryptics, mainly for the addition of 3 Sleight of Hand. Wow the deck has NEVER felt better. 7 cantrips gives you so much consistency at every stage of the game. They're effectively like drawing 2-3 extra cards for 1 mana every turn because at every stage of the game you're looking for one specific card type, either engines, interaction or extra turns. They allow you to bounce back from having multiple mine effects discarded, Abrupt Decay'd etc. And I never even once came close to fizzling after starting the combo.
The full 4 of Gigadrowse and Exhaustion felt great.
I think I made a mistake in losing to Abzan because I boarded out the Howling Mines in favor of Thing in the Ice. I think the right move is to just jam your deck full of both so they can never run you out of "threat" cards. I did that against Jund and it paid off.
2-0 vs Jeskai Nahiri (easy matchup)
0-2 vs Abzan midrange - Grim Flayer was just absurd in these games. It made it so he never ran out of both discard and Decays/Pulses.
2-0 vs Four Color Saheeli
2-0 vs Jund
2-0 vs Living End (THE BEST matchup)
If you can cast a spell, you're doing well, If you can't, that's okay, too. It usually takes a few turns before you have enough mana to do anything. Meanwhile, you should figure out whether you need to discard (p.11). Then announce the end of your turn, and let your opponent have a go.
Redirect is pretty flexible, from GBx to Burn or if you think you're going to be fighting counter fights against something like Ad Nauseam. It might be a pet card of mine but I like it for the flexibility. It also works great if you're bringing in TiTi as people often don't side out things like Path and Push when they see you win with Part the Waterveil.
Also I agree Modern is GREAT and this deck is great right now. Affinity being the main aggro deck is excellent for us with Burn a little lower down and Infect way down. We just have to have some resiliency against all the targeted discard running around and I think there are a variety of ways to achieve that.

Look at the card. Now back to Jace. Now back to that card, now back to Jace! Sadly, it isn't Jace, but if it stopped being a junk rare and became relevant, it could act like it's Jace. Crack some Worldwake. What do you have? You have a Jace, the card you wish this card could be like. Look again. THE CARD IS NOW A $75 BILL. Anything possible when you play Magic with Jace and not junk rares. This is probably spam.
I'm also interested in whether anyone is trying out the UR list. I was hoping Marcus would post an updated list -- he said he planned to in the comments on his CFB article.

After seeing that As Fortetold Wheel of Fate Turns deck that was at the GP, I came away from it in love with Chandra as a finisher but skeptical about the Foretold, Fate, and AV shell. So I then wondered if plugging Chandra into an existing U Turns deck as a wincon would be worth it. This is a list I came up with.
Hi! First post here on this thread. I watched the GP Copenhagen and fell in love with the UR Fate Foretold deck by Marcus Ewaldh, was fun since I'm swedish too Anyway I needed to pick up the deck right away, so far played around 50 matches (maybe more) on xmage. I made some tweaks from his current list. So far it look like this:
Sleight of hand got switched to Telling Time; being an instant, works with Fate Foretold on opponent's turn, can set up Miracle Temporal Mastery. Also the only 2CMC on the curve.
In the SB I felt 3 spell pierce was a bit much, one mana leak would be more flexible.
4 things wasn't necessary, once it drops it usually stays. Switched out 2 for echoing truths. They been good to me so far so versatile as they are and can really be a tempo play making opponents lost a turn when we bounce.
Not a fan of Hurkyl's, trying out By Force. When an opponents drops pithing needle on chandra and we bounce it with hurkyl's they can just replay it their following turn if we can't go off. By Force seems good against lantern too.
I'm trying out a Clique instead of 3rd Relic. Living End has been a lot more popular and Dredge still runs on xmage so might go back to 3 relics, but there's always Days's Undoing are great against grave based decks and makes so that we don't deck ourselves.
I know a lot of people don't like extraplanar lens but I still use it with the snow lands because I can go off on turn 4 with it.PtW comes out faster and it's easier to cast a mine effect the same turn as a turns spell with all the extra mana.
I've been on the AV train for quite some time even though I've gotten mad flak about it.In theory it may not be that great but in play when all your mines keep getting nuked they are your only savior.
I have almost found all the cards for the UR list in paper.Im 3 as fortolds short, but since I didn't know about by force and I REALLY like it, I'm now going to have to acquire those too.
For some of the fast decks I still think ratchet bomb is underrated. Against burn it's a turn two play that you crack turn three followed up by a mine.If they are on the play it hurts them even more.Against token decks it's really good and is an answer to deaths shadow that doesn't hurt us since we have no one drop permanents.
Cryptic Command.Great card, but I feel like it's to slow as well. This deck doesn't have very good early game and having cryptic in your opener is useless.Gigadrowse or remand became the only thing I wanted to see for interaction.I eventually took it out completely and haven't regretted it.
I have two very diffrent lists, one online which is pretty standard from farf's original list.My paper deck is much better in my opinion with the AV's, I even SB crucible of worlds since land destruction has become a problem lately and those are usually grindy games.
The UR list is appealing.I like the thought of suspending as much as I can early game to follow up with a day's undoing.I myself though am paranoid of decking myself so I will run a single elixir of immortality.
The Wheel of Time version from GP Copenhagen is a pretty legit list. I've been playing around with it for a couple weeks now and it plays well. Sorry don't have a final list as I've been tinkering with it daily. One thing to note is that it isn't as dependent on As Fortold as it looks on paper. It's not uncommon to suspend Ancestral Vision or Wheel of fate in turn 1 or 2, especially if you are expecting hand disruption. Often times you can resolve an As Fortold as your looping through turns anyway without ever having to worry about an answer from your opponent as they likely won't have enough resources available to deploy them. Often once you achieve a turn loop you can actually take turns or exhaust your opponent untill your suspend spells resolve as well.
cool list, but it seems a fusion of a foretold and a turn shell.. being a bad foretold deck and a bad taking turns one :/ you can basically splash the 10 warps + 6 mines in every deck you can do it and call it a turns deck, doesn't mean it is a good one

You've got my current philosophy on Taking Turns just about exactly, which is refreshing. Now, I do differ only a bit:
Extra Planar Lens - I'm running a lot of nonbasic lands in my build just for the toolbox effect that provides. Older builds included Tolaria West to tutor for Draw Lands, Man Lands, Life Lands, and Bojuka Bog. That said, what have you done when you go up against things like BGx with that build? Black, Green, and Red all have countless interaction cards that can disrupt Mines, Lens, and As Foretold. Do you have more flexibility against BGx decks when playing Lens, and how so?
Elixir of Immortality - I'm terrified of decking myself in organized play, also a quick EOT 5 life isn't anything to sneeze at.
Ratchet Bomb - I've been considering trying to find room for it in the MainDeck. It comes out against so many other builds in the post board that I'm beginning to think it may belong in the main and only going out when I'm against control and need more counters.
Cryptic Command - Didn't have them for a long time but managed to cash out of Pucatrade with a few copies. That said, I feel like it's a great card when playing against fair decks, and that's it. It makes it tough to win counter wars, isn't fast enough to help me avoid death against aggro or combo, and is tough to cast with my toolbox lands.
