geist were good but idk if 100% necessary. best at end of turn coco to up the next turns attack (opponent cant calculate the unknown)
never saw. won a lot of games like that where when i went into my turn i main phased a liege and my attack was just too much for them.
smitter was mvp vs twin. they do turn one serum. im turn one dork. they hold up remand. i cast smitter. so they basically did nothing effective turn one or two. they had to tap my smitter down with exarch which gave me the window for pathing. played a geist into his untapped mana to draw a counter which didnt allow for them to tap my smitter. so basically i manipulated his plays to push damage and used my paths correctly when the option was available.
naya match up. we are so much bigger. most of the match his goyfs where stuck at 2/3 (land instant in yards) he couldnt bolt my smitter to put a creature into the yard. he eventually built a team to pressure blocks because he had command to combat trick some favorable combat. that finally got the ball rolling for goyf a little (he had 2 out with burning trees so we were at a standstill in combat) once i drew the path i attacked into the bad combat hoping for the double blocks i ended the goyf and ate the burning tree. after that i coco'd into another smitter and a geist to seal up the game.
affinity (i thought this match was going to be harder)
etched champ was stonewalling my guys from turn 2 onward. he poked with some flying here and there with signal vault and inkmoth. i eventually saw some spot removal and coco'd into a big board attacked into the etched guy with smitter geist voice. he opted for the geist freebee kill. (had another in hand)
end of his next turn i coco'd into more power and drew a liege to end game 1.
game 2 i brought in the skites kataki witness warmonks dcommand
saw skite in opening 7 and opted to keep. he led out with blink opal spring. i dorked and passed. he played glimmer and gblasted my dork.
i drew smitter and played skite. he drew and played citadel (i dont know why people put lands directly into play after drawing)
he played a ravager.
game kinda stalled out and we each developed a board kinda slowly
i eventually got a blue source and landed a war monk. he started getting antsy due to my life gain possibilities so he started pushing the man land plan with ravager feeding modular over which i called over to the skite and he let the modular fizzle. i was able to force his second ravager to due his tricks pre combat with the aid of dromokas command showing up to fight war monk into skirge forcing the rav to eat (no life gain for me but i knew he would do that to avoid my life getting back up)
now that his actual flying creature was gone i felt less worry over the inevitable top deck plate (his mana would not allow casting and animating and equiping to punch me for big damage)
i played a little more aggressively with my mana to deploy 2 guys and push more (i suicided my voice once-i think he forgot it made a token or something but his face didnt betray a misplay if indeed it was) i finally drew coco into power and a liege to let my bops get in a little extra damage. turn after i drew another liege and he scooped them up and extended his hand.
he told me he brought in seize and moon against me but just never saw them. i showed him mine sb after and he said f'n kataki...i was playing around her more than i should have. (the threat of a card can often do work...sometimes more than if it was actually in play)
After talking with staff and the thread OP, we've decided it's best to archive this thread indefinitely. This deck has a lot of overlaps with Knightfall and the lists being discussed there. If Bant Company revives as a distinct archetype from Knightfall, then we can talk about reopening this. PM me if you have any questions or concerns.
