The colorless eldrazi version that did well at the pro tour with ratchet bomb has largely been replaced with other versions, mainly UW, that has 4 PTE in addition to dismember. I don't think revoker would be well suited against that build which is the most popular at the moment.
@charonsobol i def an no pro at thragtusk. I'll take your word for it! lol I know I never want to be on the other side of that interaction so maybe your just right.
@jake_mg I love revoker period. It's just learning to meta that's makes him a bit harder to play. You currently need to know all the drazi variants and the "real" meta decks. Revoker also shuts down Simiam spirit guide if you are playing against the pro tour version which is unlikely.
What are people's opinions on Phyrexian Revoker in the Eldrazi (Aggro/stompy version) match-up? I haven't faced it yet, but I'm suspecting it's going to come up at some point. I feel like their best card against us would be ratchet bomb, so I feel like it would be good to bring the revoker in and name that, while taking out leonin arbiter since they have their own GQ's. Thoughts?
their best card vs us is literally everything in their deck, and ratchet bomb was noted as the worst card in their ddck by CFB.
So Aaron Forsycthe announced on twitter that there will be no emergency ban. The deck will be around for another 6 weeks guaranteed. It's likely going to get banned as soon as possible but they don't feel its important enough to disrupt tournaments and what not over it. Whether we agree or not, its there and out in the open at least. I would say plan to beat it now that people will try and grind as much value with the deck before rotation aka banning.
I'd just suggest not trying to build an anti eldrazi deck. Like i said before, the amount of changes you are going to have to make to get any kind positive result just aren't worth it.
I'd say if you are playing black just throw 4 BGH into your main/side, and if you are playing white throw 4 Fiend hunters into the deck and keep the rest the same.

It seems to me in the UW version there are a lot more targets to name. Displacer, the scion tokens, and Drowner of Hope. Obviously this doesn't deal with their major threats, but it looks to me like those are big players in their deck.
On a side note, it looks to me like people are playing traditional control decks as a response to the eldrazi decks. This could be good for us, so maybe the meta game might slowly shift in our favor until the eldrazi deck gets banned (possibly).
Just checked, it cannot actually name the scion tokens. My mistake. Still, I feel my point still stands naming displacer and drowner of hope at least. I'm not sure if this would be impactful enough. Will have to try to test it out, but I don't know of any players that have built/are building the UW eldrazi deck in my area so I'm not sure it will come up.
201.3. If an effect instructs a player to name a card, the player must choose the name of a card that exists in the Oracle card reference (see rule 108.1) and is legal in the format of the game the player is playing. (See rule 100.6.) If the player wants to name a split card, the player must name both halves of the split card. (See rule 708.) If the player wants to name a flip card’s alternative name, the player may do so. (See rule 709.) A player may not choose the name of a token unless it’s also the name of a card.
@Deathandcatmix I was glancing at your list in your sig. Why did you choose to run 4 blinkmoth nexus over mutavualt? Synergy with Wall of Resurgence/Flying?
@jake_MG yea I just wanted to make sure I wasn't confused about how tokens interact as a card. As for the blinkmoths, we don't win enough fights on the ground. Having Blinkmoth flying is huge game against a ton of decks and offers some unique abilities with pumping each other and tapping for blocking. Mutavault is also huge game but just not where I went with the wall interaction. As the meta settles, there is a chance that blade splicer, mutavault, and wall of resurgence just can't be ignored. That aims to be a lot more best down where I consider myself the Aggro control player. I'd rather make life hard for the opponent and use evasion to safely attack and not get caught in combat tricks.
However, there are some questions:
3: Has Kytheon never proven himself the last year? Hardly anyone runs him but he seems a great fit.
I've ran a mono-white list with two copies of kytheon for some time and came to the following:
He's a great 1-drop in grindy games since his ability to become indestructible and attack with two flyers to transform, or just become indestructible to dodge removal in general, however he is still a tiny ground beater that doesnt block very well and has trouble attacking profitably against a ton of creatures, in an agressive build or one with more removal (dismember, sunlance perhaps?) he might do some work, but I'd rather curve into our 2-drops and flyers. The final thing that pushed me over to cutting him was the addition of eldrazi displacer, sea gate wreckage and wall of resurgence. All of which are better at grinding games but also all of them tax your mana so you probably wont be able to activate kytheons indestructibility. Right now i play two judge's familiar. Their utility against most decks and the flying makes me like them very much so far.
I was thinking about it. I have a lot of different versions of the deck I've been experimenting with, some are pretty far from being considered D&T at all. I'm probably not going to run D&T because I feel it does better against Control / Combo and not as well in aggro / stompy metas. I might run Jeskai Geist or maybe Orzhov Souls.
Hi ! It seems a lot of people are trying out Eldrazi Displacer. How good is he ? At first he looks pretty slow and mana hungry without Eldrazi Temple ...
In mono white i run a singleton with good results, good when grinding or forcing damage, certainly worse vs aggro and it also kinda competes with your land destruction and wall of resurgences because they all require the maximum of your mana. Im happy with one, a second could be fine but i think its more of a preference thing, three seems too many unless you run hierarchs/temples.
DeathandCatmix, I gotta say Magus of the Moat is an absolute house from the SB. Love that tech. I'm running 3 in the SB and roflstomping merfolk, allies, kiki chord/Creature toolbox variants. Helped me win a lot of matches I had zero business winning in the modern leagues. Gone 4-1 a few times now hoping to get a 5-0 finish soon.

I actually live in Kissimmee and I'm trying to decide if I want to go. I was thinking of running either mono white DT or Blue Moon.
Anyone running WG should def have one eternal witness in there. It's often your 5th path or GQ in a sense, and it's awesome next to flickers.
I think Displacer is nasty, but it is also pretty circumstantial. He blocks Etched Champ, clears blockers, re-triggers etbs, saves chump blockers and even has decent stats. I've tested with him for awhile, and I feel that 2 is the right number. You don't want him early unless you have a vial, and vial is what really makes him suited to the deck). There was one game where I was able to Vial in a Wall of Omens then Wisp it. I drew into Displacer and vialed+blinked it during a block on the defense of the turn after. The value was nuts. This is obviously an isolated example of it going really well, but I believe that the card can generate enough value to deserve a spot or two in certain builds.
I'm waiting on some blinkmoths so I can test Catmix's build as is, and then I'll probably test how I feel about Displacer in there.
Random question, I run 3 Dryad Militants in mono white because it smooths out the curve, its aggro for a one drop, and the graveyard hate helps against certain decks. I'm trying to weigh whether it's better to run 3 other cards (most likely two 2drops and a 3drop), or maintain the smoothness of the curve (I really hate not having a turn 1 play if I don't hit vial and I love when I happen to vial something in on 1). (Note: the list is one page back. Also, I don't like Judges Familiar right now in case someone suggests it).
Any Wg players thought about playing chord of calling? Figure it could be good in a toolbox kind of list.

Your success in playing dnt/hatebears is determined largely by your ability to read and prepare for the meta that you will be playing in. Furthermore, it has an absolutely brutal learning curve. Expect to lose; a lot.

LOL! Yea there is just too many times where they are stopped dead in their tracks to a 0/3. Having two never seems like enough ( I don't seem to draw them consistently after boarding) and you are tempting me to run the 3rd now! I really appreciate you testing some cards I suggest. I know its not easy to see these kooky cards and take them serious but I appreciate you giving me a chance and also helping validate my experience with this area of deck development! I really hope you get that 5-0!
@Jonathanveedot I am totally on board with Eternal Witness! Its literally the equivalent to Snapcaster in green. I've been working on so many variations of Death and Taxes and I have a list based on abusing the looping value of E Wit. I'm not going to post it for multiple reasons but I will once I have some validity behind it. Also, if you are running my list in the tags, I highly recommend you run the Lingering Taxes list. The Death and Taxes list needs work and curving consideration.
@Everyone Here goes a list I can recommend! I've been sad that I hadn't prepared a red splash for debate in some time and decided to get on that! I think red is very close to being formidable in the format. Blood mooning the opponent is pretty good it turns out!
What's your take on eldrazi Displacer, DeathandCatmix? I've noticed none of your builds run them. I'm running one in my bw build but may change to 1x resto angel since I run 3x Magus of the moat in the sb and may need the flyers.
Is it crazy to maybe run Magus of the moat as a 1x main???? That's how impressed ibe been with it playing in the modern leagues. Doesn't do much against affinity but does a lot against the decks it's very good against. By the time it comes out, most opponents have already burned their removal on thalias, tidehollow, arbiters etc.
