Playing millions of cards every turn... Slowly and systematically obliterating any chance my opponent has of winning... Clicking the multitude of locking mechanisms into place... Not even trying to win myself until turn 10+ once I have nigh absolute control... Watching my opponent desperately trying to navigate the labyrinthine prison that I've constructed... Seeing the light of hope fade and ultimately extinguished in an excruciatingly slow manner... THAT'S fun Magic.
We have 2-3 users that are dramatically making this thread incomprehensible and non-productive for anyone else to possibly join in the discussion. This needs to change.
Every time I see [ktkenshinx] post in here, I get the impression of a stern dad walking in on a bunch of kids trying to do something dumb and just shaking his head in disappointment.
Near Mint: The same as Slightly Played, but we threw some Altoids in the box we stored it in to cover up the scent of dead mice. Slightly Played: The base condition for all MTG cards. This card looks OK, but there’s one minor annoying ding in it that will always irritate and distract you whenever you draw it. Moderately Played: This card looks like it survived the Tet Offensive tucked inside the waistband of GI underwear. It may smell like it, too. Heavily Played: This card looks like the remains of Mohammed Atta’s passport after 9/11. It may be playable if you double-sleeve it to stop the chunks from falling out. The condition formerly known as "Washing Machine Grade" Damaged: This card is the unfortunate victim of a Mirrorweave/March of the Machines/Chaos Confetti/Mindslaver combo.
[M]aking counterfeit cards is the absolute height of dishonesty. Ask yourself this question: Since most people...are totally cool with the use of proxies...what purpose do [high] quality counterfeit cards serve?

Dude didnt run full on Affinity but he had the 1 drop modular dude and a full playset of Master of Etherium.
G1 - Curve out nicely and keep answering his threats. Never really made many plays and I sealed the deal quickly.
G2 - Couldnt answer an early Torpor orb (was not expecting it) and got quickly savaged by 2 11/11 Master of Etheriums.
G3 - I pull a t1 Vial into t2 Stony Silence, sadly neutering my vial but also neutering his deck. Thalia kept him well in check as I kept beating him down. Displacer did some work flickering Finks so I didnt die in the air to his Vault Skirge and 2 Blinkmoths.
R2 vs Merfolk 2-1
G1 - He mulls to 5 and I squash him.
G2 - games drags for years as we get groundlocked, turning into a game of how we can both profitably attack/block and if I can rid him of his lords. I lose with a vial on 2, Sculler in hand as he rips a spreading seas to give his team islandwalk. Realised I should have vialed in sculler in draw step, and also could have sacked my board to Ayli to live. Ah well.
G3 - we get groundlocked again, but I start pinging him with Flickerwisp and get him to 5. Fiend hunter was super mvp here as he removed so many lords. Clutch play came as he spreading sea'd one of my lands with lethal on board, and I vial in a wisp and remove the seas for the victory blocks.
R3 vs UW DnT 2-1
Guy was running a spirit of the labyrinth/vendillion clique combo which was interesting, rest of the deck was just standard DnT though.
G1 - He beats me with the aforementioned Clique combo and lots of Eldrazi Displacers and Restos
G2 - Sculler into Sculler into Splicer works really well when your opponent has no 2 drops.
G3 - See above. Misplayed by vialing in a wisp for pure beatdown purposes and flicking one of my lands instead of his vial on 2, duh.
R4 vs UWR Kiki Combo/control 2-0
G1 - Too many dudes on the ground for him to deal with, he found no blockers either.
G2 - I had the path for when he went for the combo. Wisp MVP for clearing colonnades away.
Deck was super great and lots of fun to play. Didn't play any eldrazi so the Big Game Hunters in my side went unused.
Any help for my side would be nice, I feel its a bit all over the place
Could we see a new taxer or new version of thalia or her effect in this set?
"Thalia, Knight-Cathar Terror falls from the skies on blood-spattered wings, and nameless horrors lurk in the shadows."
- Was accidentally spoiled on an product placement page and was quickly removed.
This probably indicates that we'll probably see a black version of thalia. I'm not complaining.
I really want to play Topplegeist. That art effect looks so good, but we're a dog to activate delirium reliably. Probably need some artifact creatures like Phyrexian Revoker.

I really like Topplegiest as well! It may be smart to play some enchantment creatures as well to help turn on delirium.

Topplegiest saying that you tap a creature on the opponents turn is actually really good, I didn't notice that at first. Only problem is that we only out about half the required permanent types into the graveyard in any given game so I don't think it's going to happen.
Delirium is challenging to achieve for us. Most D&T don't run any fetchlands, so we have to rely on ghost quarter/tectonic edge for that. Black versions run tidehollow sculler, who is both artifact and creature, that might help. We do have to find a way to bin them, relying on the opponent to kill our stuff is sketchy. I've been thinking of kalitas, traitor of ghet for that. Also we would need to run sorceries, maybe targeted discard in the black version?
Either way tarmogoyf decks are gonna love delirium and i think oath of nissa will be a good way to help those.
Anyone else getting saltier and saltier playing and losing against any version of the Eldrazi decks these days? Seriously, would love any D&T-er here to tell me how they are possibly winning against that deck? There is no magic dart in our SB and our deck that gives us an even a remote chance of winning against them.

Im not going to say its hard, but you need to stall the ground and kill in the air. @deathandcatmix sold me (and I was very skeptical) on Wall of Resurgence. Ive been playing 3 in the main and one in the side. It laughs at Eldrazi while you kill them in the air. Once I added the wall im 4-1 against Eldrazi. I would love a silver bullet vs. them but that's not an option. The deck is very unfair.

Modern is a diverse format, DnT can't compensate for every single deck in it. For right now, Eldrazi's are the flavor of the month. If anything give it a few weeks or months after a ban or change in the format and you'll realize they aren't that big of a deal. As far as your question is concerned, there's no magical card to beat Eldrazi's, however DnT does have an advantage over a lot of other decks which is land destruction. You have 4 Ghost Quarters and 1-3 Tectonic Edges. Be selective when you target the lands. As far as sideboard, consider take out creatures with protection from Red and change them to Leyline of Sanctity. That way you get protection from a wider range of decks.
Also keep in mind these are just cards that do something. When it comes down to it, it's all about player experience. Look at the board and think about what land will they benefit the most and destroy it. DnT is not a good deck for beginners because it requires a very in-depth view of what every deck can do. So if you are just starting off and I'm getting the sense that you are, try a different deck first or do some more research before coming back it this.

Everyone is losing to them so I wouldn't get too worked up about it. Like people have said the 0/6 wall seems decent at slowing them down, but in the end its not going to stop 3 5/5s on turn 3 when they have two mimics + a smasher coming at you.
Best thing to do is ride it out until the ban.
Thanks guys! Appreciate the encouragement. Just frustrating when I feel like I have a pretty good list, decent plays, and match ups against an extremely wide field of decks but then pretty much auto lose to the deck that conveniently has become an obscenely huge part of the meta. I remember so many of us saying how well positioned we were after the twin bans only for eldrazi to ruin the fun!
Here is the list from my 5-0 2 days ago in the MTGO League against a diverse set of decks but once again was my first League where I did not encounter Eldrazi deck...
Ah, okay! As for the flavor text, that's Burden of Guilt.

If they give us a 5 CMC version of Thalia that's only playable in Standard, I'm going to pretend like it's not canon.
