I think it's a matter of personal preference. I advocate for the angel because of how it pulls you out of some tight spots even when your opponent has flyers, and is less intense on your mana base, but I know Hype has had some great success with Obliterator.
Woof, didn't do so amazing SCG DC. 3-3, dropped before the final round. Played the same decklist I had a few posts back.
Round 1: Loss vs. UW Tron 1-2
Round 2: Win vs. Dredgevine 2-0
Round 3: Loss vs. UR Delver 0-2
Round 4: Win vs. Affinity 2-1
Round 5: Win vs. Scapeshift 2-1
Round 6: Loss vs. Melira Pod 0-2
Drop
Deck was still a blast to play. Sadly, Obliterator isn't so hot against pod when they topdeck Sigarda...
Today on TCGPlayer Frank Lepore gives a try to a last iteration of Craig Wescoe's Deadguy Ale. 4x Fulminator Mages maindeck seems very narrow, but videos are very clear: They are awesome.

I saw a lot of Burn at the PTQ this past weekend and 1 Tron deck when I was walking around. It feels like that list would be good in a low burn / high Tron meta. Also, most of the burn decks were packing several Wear // Tears in their sideboards, so you can't lean fully on Leyline to win you the game.

Yeah mulling to 4 just to grab a leyline against burn is very dangerous, but if you get one in a decent 6 or 7 card hand then great. Leyline will at least buy us a few turns to get going and if they destroy it with wear//tear that is just one less burn spell they have which is still nice.
Just want to make my contribution to sideboard.
Take in with a grain of salt as I'm very new to modern.
Cards to consider that might not be used that often: zealous persecution - good vs splinter twin/kiki combo, good vs tokens, useful as a combat trick. drown in sorrow - also good vs tokens, good vs affinity, almost all our creatures survive it. Kor firewalker - I think he might be good against UR delver and WBR midrange as it only gets killed by path, good against mono red due to life gain. mirran crusader - Since GBx is so popular right now, this guy in the sideboard might be very very useful. 2/2 double strike and pro green and black is very good against those decks. sin collector - good against control, get rid of one of their instant or sorcery and attack for two. Might be a bit slow against mono red, but I'd rather add him against those games since he's still better than lots of other cards we have.
Just some ideas.
What do you guys think?
Also, why is stony silence so good in the sideboard? Doesn't it only shut off affinity equipment, or is it more because of birthing pod?
Hey,
sorry but I don't really think it justifies nor is reliable to run one blood crypt just so you can run slaughter games. You risk having a dead card in you hand if the opponent plays a blood moon or shadow of doubt.
As for sideboard against pod I'm not sure since I'm not experienced in modern, but from what I've read damnation might be good against pod. Also darkblast migh be useful.

Blood Moon really doesn't stop you from getting the red mana necessary to cast Slaughter Games and the decks that you would bring in Slaughter Games against often don't play Blood Moon anyways.
Damnation or wrath of god is one of the best sideboard options against pod... One of my good friends plays pod(foiled pod] and one of the best strategies is to just keep him off of creatures. Whenever we play he never tries to win with a combo, just with beat down. Using this strategy I've been 50/50 against this deck game 1 and a little better game 2.
Would also recommend rest in peace for any annoying persist creatures as well as revelliark. Disenchant for any pods/ pithing needles/ you can't make them discard

You're right, that was an epic fail on my part LMAO.
But still, I think it would be better to splash red for terminate, or just better sideboard options. Adding red solely for the "can't be countarable" is not worth it in my opinion. But I might not be the best person to advise on that. Just my opinion.
Ill have time to try and finish up my primer tonight. I'm already getting some help from the tokens primer writer, as much of the side board information is applicable
Personally I don't think the single red splash is worth it, if you have 8 fetches 6 of them can grab a swamp probably so that only leaves 7 possible cards that will net you this land. When I really need something like memoricide I don't like those odds of drawing the memoricide and 1 of those 7 lands. Also I think stain the mind is better than any of them since we often have bobs and tidehollows just hanging out. We probably still can't cast it before turn 4 (only way is if we can flashback a souls T2) but it leaves us with some mana up.
Personally I'm running slaughter games with a single sacred foundry. This card is specifically for decks like scape shift and blue white red. The uncounterability has been in my experience worth the tiny splash because both of those decks will fight hard to stop a cranial extraction
My first post here. I've been playing BW tokens but I think I'll switch to this one as soon as I get my hands on a playset of Bobs.
I guess I'll try to make a BWR, especially now that we're getting bloodstained mires.
What do you guys think? Could this be the "vindicate" that's been missing to push this deck over the top? It's 4 mana which is quite a lot but is at instant speed and it exiles which is a nice bonus. I can't hit lands but I guess that's usually not that important.

I'm skeptical of it at CMC 4. My initial feeling is it could be ok as a one of, but who knows until you actually try it out. I've been running Celestial Purge in my SB as a 2 of and I am amazed at how many problem targets it takes care of, so I think that would be the closest thing I have to compare Utter End with.

How did your results go? Ive been slowly trying to build this deck and if this version is good, I wont need to pick Lili's as fast
Between the two versions it seems more like a metagame call

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.
