I think that I might better understand your comment now. I do not consider Muldrifter and Dig Through Time to play similar rolls.
It is important to reflect on the difference in the optimal play styles of our two decks. If you look at the balance of permission and removal that we are running, it is easy to tell that the two decks are intended to be played quite differently. I spend a greater amount of time answering my opponent of the stack while you have a greater capacity to answer resolved threats. This might explain why the number of sorcery speed spells/effects that you are running works for you but not for me. If I tap out, I run the risk of my oppoenent resolving a permanent that I may not be able to answer.
The short of it is that I say 'NO' and you say 'DIE'.
I wish you luck in your upcoming tournaments my friend. Let me know how things work out for you. My list is more based on what I know rolls through my locals which occasionally sees some amount of cavern of souls tribal decks.
One last thing I will say is in my experience remand seems much better than it truly is. I've always loved it in American and hated it in Grixis because we can't drop a threat like Geist and protect it. I don't understand why all these lists play such a soft permission spell. I think for myself I'd rather run something as bad as an izzet charm or a Dimir charm (at least it straight counters a treasure cruise, kills pyromancer and delver and can mess with scys).

Izzet charm is not bad its actually pretty good considering every single ability on it is relevant
problem with izzet charm is the loot ability makes u go down 1 card in terms of card advantage, so its card disadvantage to use the loot, not something we truly want in a control deck. theother 2 abilities are ok but generally electrolyze (which is very well positioned atm) is better for the 2 damage, the spell pierce effect can be good but its a bit overcosted.
I think if you consider remand as a "permission" spell, you're looking at it the wrong way. In the esper thread, we mostly view it as a cantrip, alongside shadow of doubt, squelch, and serum visions. It provides some sort of potential incremental value while digging you deeper into your land drops.

Yes, I am a local area mod. WELP. GOOD LIFE CHANGES ALL HAPPEN AT ONCE AND SOME ARE MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE
Primary Decks:
Modern: Esper Draw-Go
Legacy: RUG Lands
EDH: Sidisi turn-3 storm
Under wrong conditions remand is a cantrip at best. In the right situation it's a time walk. Most often it's in the middle, and not always a good play. In some matches I side it out for other hard counters like negate or annul.

a bit off topic from cruel control, but if anyone wants a list to crush delver this looks like it!, a U/W venser control deck . i love my grixis control but white is such a strong colour in modern so i might try this or shaheen soorani's esper or U/W. grixis is strong but every match up it feels its 45/55 to win and every game is a complete grind. possibly its due to treasure cruise warping the format giving a lot of other decks a stronger late game but idk.
Can I get some opinions on discard in the main? I've heard it being bad, and good and tested with and without and just cant decide whether or not i want 2-4 Inquisition of Kozilek in the main.
Jumping in the bandwagon here, more demoralizing is a cruel ultimatum into a snapcaster cruel ultimatum with the snapcaster you just picked from your gy
Which in turn draws you into another cruel ultimatum
I run 5 total, 3 IOK and 2 thoughtsieze. It's great, an automatic turn one play, and gets rid of the thing you don't have an answer for. Midgame it's not great but nice to at least see what's going on.

I prefer it in the side personally, I feel i have enough permission in the main for most matchups and I like boarding into thoughtseize vs non-aggressive strategies.
I use to run 2-3 IoK in mainboard but took them out. Every time I saw them mid to late game I hoped they would be something else. But when I had them early I didn't mind but I just felt like they weren't greatly benefiting me other than to see my opponents hand at the least.
I do agree that they are one of the worst cards past turn 5 or so...they are fantastic in your opener not so great afterwards which makes me honestly value thoughtseize more but our life total is a valuable asset and I can't seem to make the switch over to more thoughtseize in their place without another solid way to gain life. I usually try to pitch my late game ones to my liliana of the veil.
The tournament tourney out to not be a 1k. Instead it was just an average local modern event (12 players). I had changed my 75 for a larger tournament. The field consisted of a little more than 50% delver and burn.
Round 1 - Mono Red 'Vexing Devil' Burn (0-2)
I resolve a batterskull at 6 life. He Skull Cracks me at my upkeep and casts Searing Blaze with landfall on his following turn (targeting my BBD germ token). I have access to ~10 mana with V Clique, 1-2 land and Damnation in hand. I cast clique in response, target myself on resolution, revealing Damnation, and draw a dismember. I had the idea of countering the spell so engrained in my mind that I didn't consider returning batterskull (duh) or even casting dismember on the germ. I realized my mistake as I picked up my cards. I also lost game 2, he mana flooded (with 3-4 cards in hand) after putting me to 9. I lost the game the turn after resolving a spellskite (at 5 life) where he cast 2 smash to smithereens (I countered both) and 3 skull crack (I countered 2 of them). This left me tapped out at 2 with a grim lavamancer on his side of the field.
Round 2 RWu Burn w/ Treasure Cruise (2-0)
He was borrowing the deck through some of his sub-optimal, I was able to take an advantage stabilize.
-in both burn match-ups I side out my Cliques and dismember for Dispel and Olivia.
Round 3 Abzan Angel Pod (2-0)
The games were pretty grindy but I feel that this match is hugely favored for me. I SB in rakdos charm but I don't think that it is necessary.
Round 4 UR Delver (1-2)
This is probably one of the most skilled players in the room. I was able to grind out game 1 and worked towards grinding out game 2. Game 3 came down to him countering 3 attempts at Anger of the gods (yes, I snapcaster anger) and a Damnation.
I always have thought that pyroclasm is better than both of those cards vs delver since it hits all their creatures and it can be cast for low amount of mana so you have counterbackup to both help it resolve and interrupt their followup spells like treasure cruise, plus they tend to tap out earlier parts of the game so in those spots you can safely resolve it, also it comes down a turn earlier which can save you more life potentially. Just a very efficient spell, and it leaves more room for the big ones to fight in, you know. (also of note its single red as opposed to double red which can be sometimes hard to get in some games).
Completely agree that anger is a very nice spell, the extra damage and exile are awesome in a matchup like pod or junk when creatures have some resilience. Pyroclasm is the prototype sweeper, and is probably in more decks than anger and fallout combined. All I'm getting at is that in the delver matchup, and occasionally in twin, fallouts inability to be countered and being an instant make it a better choice. Sorry to be a smartass earlier.
