Yes, because they're not part of my meta nowadays. Doesn't matter having a 80-20 matchup in their favor if they do not exist.
I agree with you that loam shouldn't be in the main and the deck should be mostly esper, with one stomping grounds shockland. But the problem is, he is also cutting the Colonades

Lately I've been of the opinion that esper is the way to go as well, with a light green splash for some fat and sideboard flexibility. He's pricy and leans us more towards the midrange side of the deck vs control, but I've had great luck running 4x goyf to help clog the board for a bit and stalling while we get our engine going. He can easily buy us a couple turns and save enough life to get us past the critical turn 4.
Curious as to why 2 Golgari Signets over just two more caryatids? Caryatid seems better in almost every way than the two signets. Angel of Serenity seems pretty good vs eldrazi without path it's almost impossible to get rid of. But it's possible they board into o-rings and journey to nowhere's
Manabase looks rather stressed with the fetch land assortment. Probably need some number more verdant catacombs and fewer flooded strands.
The suppression fields in the sideboard with 11 fetch lands appears like a serious conflict. No discard could be a concern as it exposes the deck to the combo decks that try to prey on eldrazi like storm. But I could see it as a strength too as those spells are generally pretty poor vs eldrazi.
Glad to see a list in the middle of I felt made the deck unplayable metagame.

Exile target nonland permanent. You lose 3 life
This card is very exciting for the Esper builds. One of the reasons I disliked pure esper lists is the lack of a general catch all card that Abrupt Decay does well. Utter End is too expensive, and you see flex cards like Detention Sphere, Esper Charm, mortify, etc. This being a very clean catch call at instant speed is beautiful. 3 Life is relevant but not too high for a clean answer to anything.
Has anyone tested out batterskull? I'm thinking of adding him to my list. I really like that its pseudo creature since I run a back up combo of polymorph and it can be moved from token to token or buff a fatty.

Reveal the top X plus one cards of your library and seperate them into two piles. An opponent chooses one of those piles. Put that pile into your hand and the other into your graveyard.
Polymorph Has actually performed quite well. Allows me to cheat a fatty into play against graveyard hate. It's a one of but I have rarely been sad to see it. Polymorphing my token generally hits a norn or titan as with only 6 creatures in the deck it's easy to keep track of the odds and play it accordingly.

Linvala, the Preserver seems kind of like a big Thragtusk, but I think the jump from 5 to 6 probably makes it quite a bit worse. Might be worth testing in decks that can support the WW cost easily.
Anguished Unmaking is exciting. I think the 3 life is super real though, especially given our painful manabase and generally unfavourable matchups vs. aggro. Could play well with Timely Reinforcements main. Maybe it's best to start it in the side like some people have been doing with Maelstrom Pulse.

I don't really like how it has no discard outlets and runs so many reanimator targets. I think this deck is way too combo oriented. I think what makes gifts control great is the deck is a control/ combo deck. You can play as a very strong control deck while having the combo and not sacrifice too much on either.

Well last night went 2-2 honestly should have been 3-1 but a misplay cost me game 3 against jund. I gifted for noxious, utter end, snap and souls in response to lili discard. He gave me snap and noxious. I noxious utter end then snap noxious about to put gifts on top then realized I misstacked the cards so didn't stack gifts on top. He top decked threats before I could after removing lili. If i had stacked correctly I could have utter lili ( which I did), then next turn gifts for sphinx/ unburial and won easily from there. The other loss was against wilt leaf abzan- he just outclassed/raced me both games. Wins against goblins and colorless eldrazzi. On the plus side i picked up batterskull in a trade so he's going in for testing as #61 in the deck.
I was mostly lucky. But for boarding I brought in sphinx, surgical, extirpate, spreading seas and prison. Main plan was to play control and tie up mana with spreading seas and prison. He had plenty of relics on the board so I just played control. I Used gq + surgical to get temple (reducing mana for creatures), then extirpated his 5/5 haste (to reduce big creatures to endless one). From there I managed to just Outclass him with elspeth, norn and sphinx, which I polymorphed into ( I knew he was only creatue left in deck since I had drawn jace, snap, norn and titan).
is there an unburial rites but for enchantments?
and what're some cards we can use to help against/potentially hose aggro in general? namely cheap lifegain that isnt garbage.

I like Anguished Unmaking. I would put one in the main, 1 in the side. Leyline of Sanctity is problematic.
