Alright, so lets say your commander is Riku of Two Reflections. Combo commander, to be sure, but lets push this into the realm of absurd. You cast Palinchron and do your Riku thing to make infinite mana because we're going to need it. Forget about your extra Palinchron tokens. A million flying 4/5s is boring. So now you cast Enter the Infinite, because drawing your deck is important. Follow it up with a Obstinate Familiar because not decking yourself is equally important. Laboratory Maniac could work here too, but we're gonna go some more levels deep. Cast a Greater Good because we want a tasteful sac outlet. Follow this up with Parallel Lives, Doubling Season,Copy Enchantment, Clever Impersonator, Mycosynth Latice, Phyrexian Metamorph, and Copy Artifact giving you 6 double token effects. Here's where it gets fun now. Cast a Reef Worm. Sac it to greater good and get 256 Fish, which you sac to get 65,536 whales, which you sac to get 16,777,216 Krakens. Are we done yet? Nope! Cast Thromok the Insatiable, devouring all your krakens to make a 281,474,976,710,656/281,474,976,710,656 Thromok. Where do we go from here though? Let your opponent cast Death Mutation on him! Why, that's 7.20575940x10^16 tokens! Good thing we have Body Double to make another Thromok the Insatiable who will be a 5.19229686x10^33/5.19229686x10^33! Seems big enough, but not for us! Since we're red anyways, lets cast a Furnace of Rath, Dictate of the Twin Gods, and a Fire Servant! Now it's time to Fling your guy, dealing a spicy 4.15383749x10^34 damage to your opponent. To put that in perspective, there are an estimated 3x10^23 stars in the known universe. You dealt more damage than there are stars. That'll give your opponent something to think about. PROTIP: Dodge Spellskite decks
Alchemist's Apprentice is just a bad Elsewhere Flask, in that it isn't an artifact and draws when it dies instead of when it ETB.
If you're planning on playing Reforge the Soul try Faithless Looting first.

I took out Mindbreak Trap and just went with 3 Angel's Grace / 3 Silence. Grafdigger's Cage is there for Pod, because it stops them from tutoring, AND comboing with persist guys. Granted they can just kill off the cage if they draw an art kill, but remember: this deck wins or loses by turn 5 at the latest. I just think its great to tutor up with Reshape if need be...

Hey everyone. I am relatively new to Eggs, and as such pretty much copied the KCI decklist. Anyone have any suggestions for changes, as well as how I could better adept it for a legacy setting? My friend is dragging me to a legacy event on sunday.
For legacy, there are the original eggs, like Darkwater egg for the two mana cantrips, as well as Archeological Dig. Artifact lands are legal as well.

Hey everyone. I am relatively new to Eggs, and as such pretty much copied the KCI decklist. Anyone have any suggestions for changes, as well as how I could better adept it for a legacy setting? My friend is dragging me to a legacy event on sunday.
? Well, eggs is pretty much dead in legacy since 2 things happened:
1) cunning wish.
2) mystical tutor was banned.
So yeah, you either have to run a weird creature base to marginalize diabolic intent's drawback, or play 4LED and 4Infernal Tutor and then pray you have both, OR... you suck it up and play an extended version of the deck, making use of seat of synod, reshape, and going back to helm for a storm kill (i guess).
Let me look up something comparable though, if you wanted a peek of the older lists to get an idea...
Well, that's a good place to start too... just ditch the mystical tutors for other search, ditch the skycloud for darkwater (if you go with a black tutor), and the reclaims/wraiths are now noxious revivals/gitaxian probes. Nothing you do is gonna get this deck to be the resilient turn 2 combo deck it used to be without mystical tutor and pre-exile cunning wishes.
I think i actually linked this thread at one point, but here it is again i guess...
A little late, but my 2 cents:
KCI is too costly for Legacy IMO. Transmute Artifact becomes Reshape 5-8. Actually, scratch that, Reshape becomes Transmute Artifact 5-8. It might not even be necessary to use Transmute Artifact or Lotus Petal when there are so many "sacrifice this to make mana" permanents (Tinder Wall, Lotus Petal, Crystal Vein, Archaeological Dig). Green Sun's Zenith is not banned. Abuse it with Tinder Wall and Xantid Swarm. Silence can be replaced by the "strictly better" Orim's Chant. Well, it's strictly better as long as your opponent doesn't use Swerve or Commandeer
Force of Will is your worst enemy, same as any other non-Storm combo deck.
^yeah, orims chant and chain of vapor in the SB is legit. GSZ would be a great idea, if not for the fact that 4x tinder wall 4x lotus petal tends to be enough mana for the deck by themselves. Any more non-drawing manarocks, and your manabase starts getting a little crowded. I've always advocated 2-3 horizon canopy + 4 crop rotation to help with that, since being able to daisy chain city of traitors is a great way to produce mana, and rotating into either that or horizon gives you the choice depending on your needs. So, if GSZ IS in the deck, it might be as a split WITH the tinder walls themselves. One good case for 4GSZ + 4tinder wall would be diabolic intent, so you can have a target to sacrifice. You'd possibly drop the lotus petals, but I'm not quite sure on this.
This is getting weird though, since this thread is not for discussion of legacy.
If you manage to find a suitable replacement for mystical tutor, go ahead and just make a thread in the legacy subforums. After scouring the cardpool for that replacement for so long, I'm really all out of ideas for a workable legacy version, to be honest. Good luck.

fuga: well, thats a bit difficult. The last time I was tweaking a deck of that sort, it didn't turn out like I thought it would =\
Here's a stab I took trying to incorporate it with KCI for kicks...
well, fuga, in case you were wondering, i played out a goldfish or 2 with a tweaking of the above list and got an interesting result from a turn 3 combo that used pretty much every trick possible (whether useful or not) to illustrate what the list can do (except for transmute artifact -> helm of awakening, which is bangin and only UU off of a wellspring). I'm too lazy to condense it down from cockatrice readout but here it is as well as the tweaked list (also - i keep my non-sunrisables in the exile pile, so that's why you'll see something there):

granted, the list is currently filled to the brim without any combo protection, but it DOES have a good helping of angel's grace, which actually makes the list bearable when you really think about it. Best I could do for ya, buddy.

I'm actually starting to have fun with this terrible "might as well be naseam tendrils" deck. Was thinking grim monolith could make it in there =P
moving on...
I think it's been long enough, does anyone have something I could put in the matchups section? "soon" seems like the wrong word at this point...
was wondering if anyone had any tweaks to suggest. I really haven't changed it at all in about 9 months. Also, there is nothing more satisfying than a hive mind player casting Gitaxian probe on you and seeing angel's grace. =)
How has the 3/2 split of Elsewhere Flask and Ichor Wellspring been? I personally did the reverse just cause Wellspring is such a nice draw with KCI and even without it still draws without hurting my lands. Also maybe Gigadrowse over Early Frost? It has a bit more utility than Early Frost and dodges Spell Snare.
In my play-testing, my list (with a few tweaks here and there) has given about a 55% chance of a turn 3 combo win and I have even had about an 8% turn 2 win with the absolute god hand and dumb luck. I would NEVER suggest going off on turn 2 though unless you're just playing for fun or are 100% sure your opponent will win on his next turn and you have no way to stop it.
As for matchups I agree that tempo is probably the hardest matchup. I've had the most amount of trouble from Zoo decks, thankfully these are losing popularity (until prices drop I feel). Delver gives me some trouble too. Combo decks are not a problem in the slightest, especially after boarding. We have more answers post-board than they do for us. As this is Modern I won't go into any discussion on the legacy matchups but pm me if you want to hear them anyway.

I think you know where I stand on your numbers currently, but I'd like your opinion on a few of these:
4/4 bloom/KCI instead of 3/3?
Looks like a lot of dead cards and giving up on the idea that you are going off turn 3, which flies in the face of having 2 sculptors in the first place. Seems like a conflicted set-up. Is this setup insurance for when they counter kci? I'd almost just run extra revivals instead, they are good at that sort of thing.
3/2 flask/wellspring instead of 3/3 or 2/3? (spoofed got to this before me, but I'll ask anyway)
I've personally found wellspring/terrarion to be fine at 7 even with only 3 KCI. And with 4 terrarion, I find the chances of having WW or UU when you need it are stable for turn 3+. So, I've never felt a need to go over 2 flask. Has your experience been otherwise?
And with 2 sculptors... I don't remember it being in your list before, but have you tried a singleton mox opal?
Second, You're not really supposed to post deck lists in this particular subforum (you want deck creation), but I'll leave that to a mod to fix (to mods: not trying to be a backseat modder, just an observation, sorry if I'm wrote it wrong).

Anywho, this is my new board, what do you think? (I'm still running the original, non-KCI deck)
3 Silence
4 Echoing Truth
1 Disciple of the Vault
2 Defense Grid
1 Grafdigger's Cage
1 Pithing Needle
I took out Mindbreak Trap and just went with 3 Angel's Grace / 3 Silence. Grafdigger's Cage is there for Pod, because it stops them from tutoring, AND comboing with persist guys. Granted they can just kill off the cage if they draw an art kill, but remember: this deck wins or loses by turn 5 at the latest. I just think its great to tutor up with Reshape if need be...
-Yawg
Let me look up something comparable though, if you wanted a peek of the older lists to get an idea...
edit: oh crap! My old post o.o http://www.mtgthesource.com/forums/showthread.php?4705-Discussion-Sacred-Guide-Second-Sunrise-Combo&p=107105&viewfull=1#post107105
I think i actually linked this thread at one point, but here it is again i guess...
http://officeofstrategicinfluence.com/spam/ <---- kills spam, fyi.

3 Seat of the Synod
3 City of Traitors
3 Archaeological Dig
2 Horizon Canopy
1 Crystal Vein
Win Condition
1 Cephalid Coliseum
Mana Rocks
3 Lotus Petal
2 Tinder Wall
1 Mox Opal
2 Lotus Bloom
4 Chromatic Star
3 Conjurer's Bauble
3 Chromatic Sphere
3 Ichor Wellspring
2 Sungrass Egg
1 Skycloud Egg
1 Terrarion
Tutors
4 Transmute Artifact
2 Crop Rotation
4 Second Sunrise
2 Ad Nauseam
4 Angel's Grace
2 Noxious Revival
Utility
3 Krark-Clan Ironworks
1 Helm of Awakening
edit 2 -
well, fuga, in case you were wondering, i played out a goldfish or 2 with a tweaking of the above list and got an interesting result from a turn 3 combo that used pretty much every trick possible (whether useful or not) to illustrate what the list can do (except for transmute artifact -> helm of awakening, which is bangin and only UU off of a wellspring). I'm too lazy to condense it down from cockatrice readout but here it is as well as the tweaked list (also - i keep my non-sunrisables in the exile pile, so that's why you'll see something there):

Spam. This is Modern.
I think it's been long enough, does anyone have something I could put in the matchups section? "soon" seems like the wrong word at this point...
