Bile Blight is certainly good. I agree. Extraction was never boarded out. I like it as a "control" thing, I guess. Ripping Twin or Exarch out of the hand is like taking away a win-con. But I understand. It was kind of my little twist and it was unorthodox, but it worked out. It's certainly a flex option in the future. I will say that Pack Rats got a lot of love. When people saw it, they were impressed. Hahahaha. And then the rats swarmed...
I played a game last week where someone used Abrupt Decay on Pack Rat on principle alone... he told me stories about the damage Pack Rat has done to him...
There was one other very cool thing about playing the deck. In my last match, people were like... "We heard someone was playing 8rack...." and then someone said... "We were wondering... if it had Pack Rat..."
Leaving MTGS permanently now. Sorry guys. Hopefully someone qualified with more patience than me comes along to claim this primer. My list will be updated here http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/8rack-23-02-14-1. Cheers.

It'll be sad to see you go destroyermaker, thanks for all the work you've done
There is no lack of qualified people who could run the thread, I mean 8Rack isn't exactly rocket science. I would be more concerned if there are any candidates at all, given what previous "leadership" has lead to, the prime examples being the original creator ragequitting and the other one being so stubborn to accept changes that it forced half (if not more) the people out. Those are only the outlier cases, not mentioning having a list that hasn't been updated for a year (as if nothing has been going on in the game since Return to Ravnica block), despite the whopping 0 tournament results with the list suggested in the primer as "the best one", a;though people have been making competitive showings with anything but that list.
And now, of course, the previous moderator will pick a successor of his choice (or judging by his last post, most likely the first person willing to "claim" it... but let's not put words in his mouth), instead of the entire thread voting on somebody they think is the most qualified. This has always been the case, despite the meaning of the word "forum". In any event, best of luck to destroyer.

Well we don't have to have someone "claim it" we can all vote on the person who we as participants think is most qualified, in fact why don't we do it and get a list of candidates together
That "new" thread is Raystack's group of rebels and is quite honestly a lot worse than this one... which says something. Also starting a brand new is pointless, not only do we have 90 pages of input here, but the work that's been done on the front page is quite a bit and a shame to waste. Sure, a decent part of it has to be updated and corrected to accomodate for everything that has happened in Magic since the printing of Pack Rat, but that's still not as much as creating a whole new primer.
I'd love to have a vote for somebody to pick up the corpse of what this used to be before it got moved into this "tier", but not only do we need to have candidates first, that's not usually how things work around here (not saying they couldn't). And even before that we have to see which experienced (in the deck) people are left and are still monitoring this place (however lightly).

Alrighty then Esperino lets get our candidates then, any players how have played 8rack for a couple of months, attended FNM's, GP's or just kitchen table please post saying wether or not you are interested in running thread and what experience you have with the deck as well as your decklist if you wouldn't mind, here i'll go first
I have played 8rack for about eight to nine months now and i enjoy the deck, i take it to every FNM i attend aproximately two a month and would take it to a modern GP if we ever managed to get one here in Sydney, i am interested in running the thread and my decklist is this
Sorcery:
4x Raven's Crime
4x Thoughtsieze
3x Lingering Souls
4x Wrench Mind
3x Inquistion of Kozilek
Unfortunately, I went 1/3 at the event. Rough night, I ended up beating burn but losing to twin, burn, and affinity(Which I hadn't seen in months).
There was lots of games that ended in top deck mode, lots of games where I lost just before the racks killed them. It was very sad times. But I like the deck, I have been playing it for years on MTGO but never paper. I will definitely try it again. With the release of pildriver I will be more tuned to goblins but I always try to keep up with 8rack as much as possible.

My condolences on your showing. I have 2 questions for you:
i) At any point during the night, did you feel like you'd rather have more Terminate instead of Ensnaring Bridge? I see the extra copies in your SB, and I would guess that you board the Bridges out and bring in Nyxathid and Terminate. Would you rather have started out that way?
ii) More of a comment/observation. Mogis has always been a solid win-con for me. Having him in my hand feels like all topdecks are good because if I get lands then I can cast him, but if I get spells then I am interacting with my opponent. That's one of the reasons I opted not to play Damnation, and just went with Anger of the Gods - reserve the 4 CMC slot for a single Mogis. If the matchups you had are any indication of your meta, then Anger would probably have been good enough.
Thanks guys. I'll be getting videos up sometime this month maybe.
Mutavaults have been pretty good to me, but if Bridge is that great in your meta, run Buried Ruin instead (which has also been good to me). You may also want to run Bile Blight main, depending what creatures are run in your meta.
Command is definitely an issue and potentially a reason to switch to Ruin.
Edit: how many Decays + Command does Jund run now compared to the amount of Decays before?

Won the Roanoke Super IQ with 8-rack. Top 8 included @fffreakmtg @mtgRikipedia and @BraunDuinIt . Deck is well positioned. Article incoming.

But anyway, these are questionable Not Wast? or it can work well? I not yet tested. What I have read, people have disapproved ... I do not know if it's worth ..
anyone tested painful quandary, Bloodchief Ascension, Gray Merchant of Asphodel?

8-Rack8Rack has been fun to play, but I haven't had much success, and this thread has been dying a slow painful death. Best wishes to whoever picks it up!

I don't know if starting a new thread would be a good idea given with have quite a bit of data here on this thread
