Anyone care to explain what is going on with this thread? Someone keeps deleting days of posts. I know for a fact that destroyer, myself and a couple others posted on this yesterday, but the last post says 4 days ago.
I don't see any record of deleted/moved posts in the thread. I also have zero response notifications in my subscription list from this thread, at least not since 4/5. There's just been no activity.
So, I haven't seen this discussed at all, but I thought I'd ask what everyone thinks of: Dream salvage? For us at least it seems like it could cantrip or draw 2 for B.

I tried dream salvage as a 3-of once, it just takes a little too much effort to set up. Also, by the time you need the draw, your opponent should have pretty much nothing to discard anymore..

Then, people that wanted to splash went to the blightning thread. Since that was a sizable chunk of 8Rack players, it makes sense people don't post here that often anymore.
Oh ok it was in the budget thread. Thats what was confusing me.

Hmm, okay. That's too bad. I was really excited about this card but that reasoning all makes sense. I'll test it out myself, I guess and see how it goes though. Thanks!

My LGS started running Modern tournaments at FNM a few weeks back and, when I grew a bit tired of my Living End deck, I built the 8Rack listed on the first page and took it for a spin. I ended up going 3-1, which is not bad at all for a first-time outing with a new favorite weapon. The advice and analysis in the primer was spot-on and really made piloting this much easier. My only stumbling block so far has been in mulliganing. I know this was discussed before, but has anyone with a lot of experience thought about adding a guide to the primer for us new rackers?
BTW, if anyone's curious, I took down BW Knights 2-1, Mono-Red Burn 2-0 and Soul Sisters 2-1; my only loss was to Jeskai Burn/Control (1-2). Man, I sure do love this deck!
On mulliganing, the only pickle I'm ever in is keeping one landers. Just take into consideration if you're on the play or draw, if you have a one mana discard, and your luck that day.
I take memorylapse's advice and tend to keep one landers, especially on the draw, and sometimes even on the play if I've got at least two one drops. I'm playing the budget list, but it's the same concept.

Yeah, there's a thread that split off from this one and it's dedicated to RB Rack. It seems alright, but I really think that any splash should be much lighter. I think the Command has a lot of potential for 8rack though.

It seems like it could be interesting. I also just realized red black has Rakdos's Return, although Mind Shatter exists and is better on the discard front. Just being able to cast massive Rakdos's Return could just kill you opponent.

I think a lot of people want to go this BR direction because it feels like it should be more aggressive. The problem is you lose control in exchange for this aggression. Take Rakdos's Return / Mind Shatter for example. These are cards that want to be played in a grindy deck that draws the game out. This is pretty much the opposite of what BR splash is trying to do.
The new command however is interesting. I feel like at the very least it should be added as a sideboard option against Affinity since its basically an automatic 2 for 1 there. I could see a copy or two floating around a main deck even.

Knowing when to keep one landers is critical to the correct operation of this deck IMHO. If you pitch every one lander you draw you are wasting a ton of winnable hands.
Fetid Heaths to be able to actually cast a Leyline of Sanctity is a really interesting choice.

I liked the swap between Blinkmoth Nexus and Mutavault in this last list. Since the guy is not playing Pack Rat, sounds reasonable to get a more evasive blocker and attacker in the board.
Actually, this entire list and the other list`s sideboard are considerably different from the stock list.
The other uses Smallpox on main deck too.
Ever since I brewed a casual Golgari deck with Smallpox in it, I've fallen in love with the card. I just put together a Loam Pox deck, and am considering adding it as a 2x to my 8Rack.
I also run 2x Nyxathid and 2x Pack Rat instead of the full 4, since the Nyx tends to work better against the UWR Delver deck my wife plays.

So two top 8 finishes in relevant sized tourneys for the stock list in the last few weeks? Not bad, not bad at all.
