I am new to magic and was reading up on a Prison/Lock down deck type and found it rather interesting and I would like some input from you guys as to what cards I can get to build such a deck, I would like it to stick to two colours only please.
Modern doesn't have much for prison-style decks. I've seen attempts at a GW enchantress (ported from legacy), but can't find the link right now.
There's the "top control" thread. It's probably the most honest lockdown deck I've seen in modern... uses lantern of insight and codex shredder/ghoulcaller's bell to make the opponent draw nothing but lands/other dead cards. I love it, but it's the kind of deck that makes people want to stab you, so I'm not sure I'd recommend running it more than occasionally. Most lists are actually 4 or 5 color, but they use glimmervoid, mox opal, and sometimes gemstone mine for most of their mana fixing instead of the usual fetch/shock base, so it's more affordable. http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=467058
8-rack is pseudo-lockdown, emptying both hands, dropping ensnaring bridge, then killing with the rack. It's usually mono-black.
There are control decks like B/G deathcloud (usually with a splash, but you can build without it), and some B(x) smallpox lists out there.
Tezzerator plays somewhat prison style-like. There used to be R/W lockdown deck but it got taken down because of meta. But the deck list should be still around here.
