Does Celestial Dawn hose their lands? I think it works but it's kind of slow at 1WW.

These days, some wizards are finding they have a little too much deck left at the end of their $$$.

I did find it interesting how frequently Tao was able to win with his deck in games on camera where he didn't benefit from an Eldrazi land (either never getting one, getting one so late it didn't matter, or having his eye GQ'd or Fulminator Mage'd before it did anything), over the weekend. Seemed like the format was pretty weak to "Random creatures with 4+ toughness" even when they were cast on a reasonable curve.
This is a good thing for everyone to look at I think. There are many other decks that were played at this event besides eldrazi, and many of them had some wins too.
This weekend has been flush with over the top ban talk and I think people need to take a more calculated and thoughtful approach to their posts and comments from now on. We have been the victims of a bit of "bias" with that has been shown on camera and it leads some to believe that this deck was the ONLY one being played in the whole room by over 300 people. Simply not true.
In addition, this is ONE tournament, flush with teams all playing the same deck. Of course it is going to be a bit lopsided. Let's take some time to see what the next GPs bring and evaluate with REAL data. I'm sure our ktkenshinx would agree with that at the very least.
Why do people keep saying this? Its a weekend flush with day one having a ton of decks represented, then the eldrazi pretty much all go to day two, and then half of them get into top 16.

And that is proof that eldrazi is heads and tails better than the rest of the field.
@Kkowboy: "even when they were cast on a reasonable curve" is a reference to the games without mana acceleration referred to in those two sentences. And Tao's deck doesn't have Spirit Guides, so, again not having to do with what I was discussing?
Does Eldrazi have a good Match up with 8 rack or turbo fog? I know these decks aren't really good.
A friend and I have been discussing ways to combat Eldrazi. Our top two contenders right now are Turbofog and Bogles. You know the format is in a really bad spot when those decks are your savior.
Regardless of how you feel about this Protour the other decks are now going to have to adapt or die. Eldarzi is not a deck that can be ignored now so the meta is going to eldarzi and the decks that can adapt and fight against it.
In that sense we should be seeing established lists look way different from before because they need to take into account the eldarzi menace.

I believe a lot of people would refer to that as 'warping the format'.
Also screw Sam Black for playing Lantern. I'm praying so hard that deck never catches on, even though I've seen it at FNM. It's literally the opposite of fun to play against and whoever plays it are evil bastards
I feel the same with people playing Enduring Ideal.

It is. Turbofog and Bogles both seem like they would be good against eldrazi. I also think Troll Worship might have a decent match up against them.
Looking at 8-2. Aside from the overwhelming Eldrazi dominance, and to a lesser extent affinity dominance, it's nice to see some fair green creature decks managed to do so well. Also mad respect to Reid Duke who managed it with Jund playing Kalitas, and Seal of Fire (wtf?).
Seal of Fire is probably a nice preemptive answer to things like Eldrazi Mimic and Goblin Guide on the play?

Yes, I agree with you and unfortunately that is the reality of what's happened at this Protour. No one built their decks taking Eldarzi into account and we'll be seeing that change now. I was hoping for a fun blue deck to pop up to reinvigorate my interest in this format but nothing so far. Honestly I don't feel like there's much that can be done against eldarzi atm without sacrificing your other matchups so I think I'm going to be taking a break from modern until the meta settles to something more reasonable.

Presumably he was playing it due to the Tarmogoyf interaction.

I've actually enjoyed all the games I've played against Lantern Control. I think it's a cool deck. Quite honestly, I find it a lot more fun to play against than basically any aggro deck in the format.
On the plus side, if you hate Lantern Control, having a flood of people copying the CFB Eldrazi list and rocking Simian Spirit Guide+Chalice of the Void is a pretty solid way to thin the lantern herd

You'd definitely be in the minority then, I'm pretty sure the vast majority of people, including some of its pilots think this is one of the most miserable decks to play against. Being fatesealed feels bad, man.
It's significantly less "feelbad" to me than losing the game to Burn before I really get a chance to even play said game. I have actual chances to win even after they start fatesealing, whereas I have no chance to win at negative life.

This is the point where you stop trying to beat Eldrazi and just join them until the banhammer comes down.

It's super feel bads to go against Lantern with turn 0 Leyline, turn 1 Inquisition your artifact hate, turn 2 Lantern + mill rock, turn 3 bridge empty hand. I'd rather play against burn all day any day. At least I can draw cards and interact with them.

'Feelbads' have been a part of magic since the beginning. Wizards trying to breed out all of the 'feelbads' is why they won't print ANY amount of efficient land destruction which is causing us all to have ACTUAL feelbads right now. Lantern is a fine deck. Stasis was a fine deck. Metagame degeneracy is what needs to be addressed, not how many players do or do not like playing against an individual deck or archetype.
I would rather play burn than to watch that pro tour EVER again.
Edgy.
This protour was an anomaly, and there is almost no chance that something like this ever happens the same way again. We all just watched lightning get caught in a bottle.

PT Modern 1 in Philly was also blindingly fast that came about because of the bans to the original Modern at the Community Cup.
if you really think that a turn 2 creature that dies to colorless removal is an answer for this deck gl..
It may not be a very good one but it does attack from the right direction. It's basically magus of the moon vs eldrazi. I'd say if they print an enchantment version of painters servant we will be golden. Seriously the negativity on this thread is the stupidest thing I've seen on mtgsalvation, and I've seen a LOT of stupid things on this forum.

1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!

It's a cool card though. Didn't even know it existed until now.
