He was the only B/W on day two. Is there a day one breakdown somewhere to see how many B/w lists there were total? As long as nothing happens I will be heading to Charlotte next weekend to play this deck.
Might as well post my list and see what people think…
What are you doing about Burn? Is 2x Spellskite it?
Think I need more? I figured the 2 spellskites plus the discard from inquisition, kolaghans, and lili could slow them down. Admittedly none of my friends use burn so haven't/wont get to playtest it. Could add something like sun droplet to sideboard.
Well, its nothing special. Seems tuned though. Super glad to see someone who put in the reps and brought their tuned list. Note, Lili is just about our only reasonable out to Bogles and the likes. And have I or have I not been talking up crucible? haha
Is there a specific reason to run a single Spellskite other then that its overall just a good card?
Like... is there synergy somewhere I'm not seeing?
I run 2 main. It is there for aggro, burn, boggles and twin. It is easy to cast and is an amazing defense card against the majority of deck eldrazi struggles against.

So i've been thinking about other stuff to make the green version better. I thought maybe some voyaging satyr might pair up nicely with eldrazi temple. Can set up some big turn 3 but vulnerable to bolt... Worth it?
EDIT: also pairs up nicely with sea gate wreckage, if it ever becomes a thing... and it makes sense with ancient stirrings, which helps find temple.

Spellskite is so good against many of our tougher matchups, especially Bogles, as mentioned by Complex Pants, and I would also add Infect to that list. I have 3 in my SB.
I like spellskite being included more than liliana. A sorcery speed sacrifice effect isn't hard to find at 3 cmc, with Tribute to hunger being one such option that also nets life. Sometimes I just deploy a Magus of the Abyss, since it draws fire to itself and kills once the next turn starts. I do kind of like her discard ability, though. Also, it is pretty hard to argue that including the most powerful 3 cmc planeswalker in magic is a bad move.
Still not completely sure if Magus works on boggles, though. What are peoples thoughts on remorseless punishment? 5 cmc total for a relatively crippling effect.
1. (Ravnica Allegiance): You can't keep a good esper control deck down... Or Wilderness Reclamation... or Gates...
2. (War of the Spark): Guys, I know what we need! We need a cycle of really idiotic flavor text victory cards! Jace's Triumph...
3. (War of the Spark): Lets make the format with control have even more control!

It should work with Magus because it's the player targeting their own creature. I could be wrong, but I don't think Magus would be able to get rid of something with Shroud because it can't even be targeted by the creature's controller.
Does magus say target? Yes. So it doesn't work on Bogles. Gerry T played a Tribute on camera vs affinity. Seems like actually a good option to bring in vs bogles and zoo.
Hex proof says that effects your opponent own can't target your creature. It doesn't matter who chooses the target, hexproof makes the creature an illegal target.

Ah word, good call I was thinking it worked differently than it does.
I guess its a little confusing considering most people think of hex proof as "Your opponent can't target this creature." But technically, hex proof is "This permanent can’t be the target of spells or abilities your opponents control." Slightly different wording, but it clears up why Magus doesn't work.

I think magus is specifically confusing because it almost reads as if your ability is forcing the opponent to target their own creatures which would get around hexproof, it just doesn't quite work that way.
remorseless punishment certainly got my attention. But it gives opponents choice which is always a bad thing. That being said it is a nasty card that deserves some play testing.

Okay, so Spellskite is just just overall good stuff, no specific interaction.
Just looking at the 1 of Spellskite in his list confused me. He didn't even have others in the sideboard. I just thought, is one copy even worth while for what its needed for? I think 2 should be the least if your even going to be troubled with it.
Oh wow, biggest occlusion in his list is shambling vents. Ive had some rotten luck with it lately, Id love to hear why he left it out. I agree with the point on 2 spells kites. Id probably cut the 4th strangler for it. I still think 4/4/4 on the processors can't possibly be correct. Can I say again how much I love crucible and 4 GC? Beautiful decision. It literally wins the game for you sometimes. We can operate completely off of 3 lands ourselves, and we end up getting their lands that we destroy. Ive been playing GC really ineffectively it seems. GC, Crack relic, Sower. Ill be looking for that often in the future.

GQ -> Surgical -> Sower. Buh-roken.
But for real, if Crucible wasn't as expensive as it is I'd absolutely be running 1/2 in the side. If I can pick some up in trades I'll look to try it. In versions that run map, has anyone tried a 1-of Miren, The Moaning Well in the side? We have some REAL big butts on our side that could help to stabilize us against a lot of decks that blocking might not necessarily help. Because we effectively run multiple copies of any land because of map it's really like boarding 3 copies in.

CapBubble, are you maindecking Crucible? I have already run into problems with land destruction against me.
