BW is seeing the most results recently because it stalls aggro decks the best and has the best side board options. Its main removal spell also helps turn on the processors.
I agree
Black/white is just the best in an open meta.
If a meta becomes more defined I'm sure other colors may shine. But white just gives you too much hedging game 1 with a great sideboard.
Hey again gang! I've posted on this thread before with different modes of <>B Eldrazi (it sure ain't MonoB). This is my latest iteration trying to address the problems this archetype has with aggro decks that aren't Infect. I'm running 4x Glimmerpost and 2x Tomb of the Spirit Dragon to help out my G1. In Goldfishing, it's always awful to have to ditch GQ, and I assume it's not the best in tournaments either unless you NEED to do it. Anyways I have my GQs in the side for now to deal with Tron and the Mirror. Everything here is obviously very Beta still so let me know if you see something weird or if you have suggestions.
I don't want to go to another color to splash, even White, just because I don't want to play a 3 color deck. I'm already kinda screwed in this deck if Blood Moon comes down and I'm unable to play any TKS or Matter Reshapers! Still trying to find the best answer for that card in particular. My older builds didn't have these OGW creatures that require the new color so this I'm still very much experimenting with the manabase.
What is everyone's lists looking like now that Oath is out? Are we dropping white to keep better mana with colorless and black?
Tried W, B, G, and R.
Personally I like G for Abrupt Decay, Feed the Clan/Thragtusk, Nature's Claim, and Ancient Stirrings. That being said if the meta is Merfolkish I can easily see R being the preferred color. I hate W. And U was lacking on the board removal department.
That being said been rocking the reflecting pool and caverns combo and it's been very relevant out of the SB as my 1 of EE has ranged from 0-4 CC.
I think people should try different colors and see what works from them best.
That being said this deck is NOT tier 1 atm. Meta has so many Blood Moons, Spreading Seas, Fulminator Mages, etc., and I have seen the ups and downs with this deck. It's a very good mindrange deck whose mana base should of been banned and lives and dies off the early discard.
If you're looking for a life gain land - Tomb of the Spirit Dragon is the card you're looking for. That, or Miren the Moaning Well.
To be fair Tomb of the Spirit Dragon is awful verse modern aggro decks because the only time you would ever have enough mana and creatures to gain the life back would be after a blight herder then you also have to untap. Tomb doesn't solve any of the problems.
That being said if you're looking to survive off aggro decks with lands you'll find your self losing a lot. Your best chance is a hedge of vault of archangel and maybe shambling vents and actually having early interaction in your deck. Other wise you're just throwing away percentage points.
I find it funny you say you hate the white splash when that is the one splash that plays best against all the "Weaknesses" you stated. Better removal and earlier pressure with Path and Lingering Souls/Timely Reinforcements + Vault/Shambling Vents as well as great sideboard options to combat Blood Moon, Seas, Affinity and Fulminator.
Well, I posted this in the BW Eldrazi thread, but it seems relevant here too.
I'll just hide it under this spoiler to reduce spammmy-ness.
There was an SCG (Modern) Classic Tournament with OGW & Post Bans, here's the results: http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=97989 TL;DR No Tron in Top 16. Tons of Aggro. Merfolk, Burn, Zoo, Affinity.
Temur Delver got 1st, Jund got 2nd.
Still a small-ish tournament however, take results for what you will.
Reality Smasher must have done some decent blocking and some decent finishing of games to help carry this list to 13th in this aggro meta.
Sideboard looks pretty standard I guess, except for random Celestial Colonnade. I guess that was to hedge against any UWr Control decks that might've been present, and he can activate it after getting their blue mana with Sower, or maybe he didn't have a 15th card and just grabbed anything to fill the slot. Supposed to be Celestial Purge.
Not sure Eldrazi Displacer did anything for him, no idea. Flaying Tendrils was his sweeper of choice. It looks like it did some work here, costing only 3 instead of 4 like Damnation or Languish.
I think we should consider using Flaying Tendrils as the primary sweeper. It really does kill most of these aggro decks.
Unless there are 2 Merfolk lords out.
Costing only 3, you can cast it @ 4 mana vs Cursecatcher.
The zoo decks were fast Zoo. Nacatl/Kird Ape/Experiment one/Burning Tree Emmissary. Sure Nacatl/Ape/Tarmogoyf can potentially survive Tendrils, but I don't think you get to 4 mana for big sweepers, especially on the draw.
Affinity. One of the lists is running only 1 Etched champion, but up to 3 Master of Etherium.
Either way, good lord look at all the aggro. Even in my very similar BW version, I'm considering mainboard sweepers or Timely Reinforcements.
Also, no matter how much I try to hedge against burn, I found that I'm like 1-5 vs. burn in matches.
EDIT: Assuming you read this, how are you going to be adjusting you 75 to accommodate for lots of Aggro, and specifically, the Temur Delver deck, which I'm sure many Twin players will switch to.
It runs 4 Remands ~3 Spell Pierce, ~3 Vapor Snag.
Lingering Souls is hard to land, removal is hard to land between snags & counter magic.
Other notes, people said there was LOTS of Eldrazi, decent amount of Tron, Ad Nauseum, & Scapeshift.
Obviously people were prepared for Tron/Eldrazi in sideboards.

If you ask me what his deck was missing is eldrazi mimic. That guy is way under rated! Also I'd rather have another smasher and cut a tks. Only time I haven't liked smasher is against g/w with smiter/wilt leafs.

Eh I don't think BW is really trying to be aggressive.
Only 2 Reality Smashers makes that pretty clear.
I've tried the mimic in Mono black Eldrazi aggro and I kinda hated it. It was the only thing that died to bolt with no value and was a bad top deck later in the game.
A reminder to my spaghetti monster deck friends that running a bunch of non-basic colorless mana producing lands can cause problems if you're facing land destruction or blood moon. Please run 2 basic wastes for this eventuality.

He's also pretty bad at blocking.
Looking at the top 8 decks I think he would have been great at blocking, saving 3 damage from bolt, or trading with an infect/pump spell. A turn one 2/1 that has to be answered is never a bad thing in my experience.
I would run at least 2 wastes because getting on GQ would feel bad if it were your only one.
Has anyone gotten to test this list out? It's an extremely unique take on the Eldrazi lists but seems to have very little coverage. All we keep getting are cookie-cutter Wasteland Strangler/Relic of Progenitus lists but at least this one does something new.
It has no Processors in it but I bring it up because I wonder if it can be improved by adding some Blight Herder's as additional threats backed up by a few Surgical Extractions to further out it's resource-denial strategy. What do you think?

Surgicals are a nonbo with Chalice of the Void. The problem with the "Stompy" list is that Chalice can't come online on turn one (where it's really valuable) and it doesn't play nicely with exile effects, so it's really incompatible with processors.

Chalice has been sweet on turn two, and it does sometimes come out on turn one with a Gemstone Caverns. Looking at how aggressive the metagame is becoming, I think this build will be very well-positioned.
the card itself really isn't worth the card board its printed on...does it serve a purpose? Sure its a blue 1 drop that might not be a 1/1. I would not put it in a list and expect to win a PTQ or GP though.

Except, I like the stock list a ton versus aggro decks. Looking at the Temur Delver deck floating around, Strangler eats Delver all day long, Blight Herder trumps Mandrills, Oblivion Sower eats all but the largest of Goyfs, and Relics shut down Snapcasters and Goyfs and keep Mandrills from even getting online.

Any recommendations for a replacement for Liliana? I have access to every other piece but only one Lili.
I think you really need them in that list. With only Thought-Knot Seers in the way of discard, you need some additional disruption. She also serves as removal, and there's no other card that manages both of those things.
You could probably manage with another 2 copies of Dismember, or maybe Bearer of Silence. But it won't be as strong.

So I have been looking to get into the Modern game style and I have been looking to test out the Eldrazi deck. I have been looking at the B/G variant and this is what I have came up with. I was thinking of going the aggro route and use mosswort bridge to sneak out a creature. Any recommendations yall think?

I actually built the Temur Delver deck, and that matchup was the first I tested when I was developing Eldrazi Stompy. An early Chalice locks RUG Delver out much more than Relic does, and Liliana is a nightmare for them.

Whoops, didn't catch that. It's too bad our 1 drops are all turned off by Chalice in turn, and we can't T2 TKS them if we go for Chalice.
Remember: Gemstone Caverns only works if you're on the draw, so you already can't cheat them out of their first one-drop. That's a bad hit for the strategy.
Simian Spirit Guide x 4, Serum Powder x 4, Chalice x 4, new meta.
In other news I completely cut blight herders went down to 4 relics mainboard from 6 and am thinking dropping herder is Correct. Generally reality smasher gives more incentive to dump lands when removed, and lets you pop a relic to get more from o-sower, so basically no matter what you're getting a pretty big blowout from the big man. This is much more impact than herder has ever had for me.
I'm also considering running flagstones as an own GQ target if I see a moon and ever run BW again (I'm mono-black right now but I'm trying out a few lists!).
Still working in my BR after receive the new toys, with the incress of agro thx to Twin ban im more confident in my BR and add a few extra Pyroclasm, that the list that im working right now:

http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=97989
TL;DR No Tron in Top 16. Tons of Aggro. Merfolk, Burn, Zoo, Affinity.
Temur Delver got 1st, Jund got 2nd.
Still a small-ish tournament however, take results for what you will.
BW Eldrazi made it to 13th place. List is below.
Decklist http://sales.starcitygames.com//deckdatabase/displaydeck.php?DeckID=97989
4 Blight Herder
2 Oblivion Sower
2 Reality Smasher
4 Thought-Knot Seer
4 Wasteland Strangler
1 Ulamog, the Ceaseless Hunger
Spells (18)
4 Relic of Progenitus
1 Dismember
1 Go for the Throat
4 Path to Exile
3 Inquisition of Kozilek
3 Lingering Souls
2 Thoughtseize
1 Plains

2 Spellskite
1 Eldrazi Displacer
2 Stony Silence
2 Disenchant
2 Surgical Extraction
2 Flaying Tendrils
2 Timely Reinforcements
1 All Is Dust
1 Celestial Purge
Seems pretty standard to many of the BW lists.
Full 4 TKS
Only 2 Oblivion Sower
+2 Reality Smasher
0 Matter Reshaper
3 Lingering Souls
Reality Smasher must have done some decent blocking and some decent finishing of games to help carry this list to 13th in this aggro meta.
Sideboard looks pretty standard I guess,
