Of note is that of the 5 amulet players that made day 2 they went 8-2, 8-2, 7-2-1, 7-2-1 and 6-4 in the modern portion for a combined record of 36-12-2 which is 75% wins if you exclude the ID between Justin Cohen and Sam Black which is fairly insane. I find it really weird that only 8 players came to the conclusion that amulet might be the deck to play this PT.

Isn't it one of the hardest decks to play in the format. And the amount of time you would have to put into testing the deck and learning it far exceeds just testing something like Infect or Junk.
- Blue is nowhere to be seen. With the exception of 5-color decks and stuff like Infect, there is nothing left. No Twin (it's in the top8 only because of the draft rounds), no Scapeshift, no Merfolk, no UWR of any kind.
Kind of an ugly format, in my opinion. The lack of an entire color is saddening.
Hard to see how Wizards fixes this though and makes blue playable again. They've banned out so many "unfair" things that all we're left with is aggro decks and goodstuff.dec

Amulet is the best kept secret in modern for months now. You can even make it more consistent/controlling if you really want to with cards like Trinket mage which fetches silver bullets/amulet.

Yeah, Wizards doesn't think about the health or the long term with modern, just what gets people to tune into the PT. It will interesting to see how Wizards reacts if this meta persists because I feel this is the worst situation Modern has been in since its inception. Even with Treasure Cruise modern, it felt there were a few different ways that Wizards could go that would give us a good situation, but right now I'm not sure how Wizards can fix it without a big change, especially in the way in which they think about the format.
Are we allowed to complain that this deck is as bad as eggs yet? Poor twin player has to just sit there while his opponent just puts lands in and out of play!

Generally the deck gets played faster than this, but I cant blame Justin for being cautious. He's very good at playing to his outs.
Yeah it just shows how clueless he is about this deck/how this guy hasnt played this deck much/how he is playing SUPER slow since money is on the line.
If i played this turn on magic online it would take me 30 seconds. Its not that complicated really.

Yah I wasn't being serious. Just wanted to get the comment out there before anyone else who actually was.
Can we ban people from comparing anything that's slightly complicated with comparing it to eggs? Rich Hagon has on stream compared ascendancy to eggs, bloom titan to eggs. EVERYTHING. I bet if ad nauseum was was on stream he would have said something to!
Its one of the most annoying things about this format, if the deck is slightly complicated it's the new eggs and needs banning.

If you couldn't tell I hate greedy blue decks.

The worst part about it is that Eggs took way, way longer than all those other decks. The average Eggs win turn was about 10 minutes if you went through all the triggers. The average Amulet one is probably 3-4 at absolute most, assuming you exhaustively go through your deck and think through a play. There are reasons to compare aspects of Amulet to other banned decks, but Eggs is not one of them.
This deck is honestly pretty easy to play at least on magic online. I picked up and within a week i knew most of the important lines. This is a tricky matchup but still, its all this mana confusion.
For you magic online haters out there, realize this is a matchup that is MUCH better to play online since the triggers/mana is kept track of for you, and you dont need to waste 15 minutes shuffling.
Eggs wasn't even very complicated, it was just that terrible wincon of filtering through the whole deck just to cycle spellbomb with Conjurer's bauble. Eggs made legitimate logistical issues for magic tournaments and had to go.

Storm Crow is strictly worse than Seacoast Drake.

I get these decks take a lot of time and this is the biggest match of his career, but damn this is taking a while.
