A bit of a late response, but regarding your eldrazi sideboard, did you see some of the lists popping up in Japan? I posted a list a while back, but there were some eldrazi in those. How have you been liking these?

I might try two in the main and see what happens. As the metagame shifts towards Jund and Dredge, it might be a good call.
I really need help on figuring out how to sideboard with this deck. What are some of the things you pull out of the main for stuff in the board? And what should you pull out for which match ups?
I really haven't been playing as much as I would have liked the last few weeks so I'm in need of a crash course

Commander - Master of the Drunkin' Arts:D(no longer together)
1-2 Affinity (D)
Played about 25 games against Affinity last night in preparations for GP Lille so I figured this will be a hard matchup since they're just too fast. Being on the draw G1 certainly wasn't in my favour.
G1: He dumped 5 cards T1, followed by Steel Overseer and Arcbound Ravager next. Swing with Inkmoth Nexus for 10.
G2: Early Thoughtseize got rid of a Ravager while Thought-Knot Seer (hardcast via Caverns) took care of Cranial Plating. That was enough to build up a board and drain with one Shaman followed by Evolution into 2nd one.
G3: Kept opener with 2 dorks, 3 lands, Dismember and Fracturing Gust. T2 he plays Master of Etherium which is a 4/4 and he's tapped out. Instead of simply waiting with my Fracturing Gust up to catch his Inkmoth Nexus, I wasted my Dismember on the Master. Next turn he casts Whipflare (as if they need a onesided Pyroclasm :() and I cast Fracturing Gust in response. I had no way of getting rid of his Nexus and I lost.
2-1 Norin Sisters (P)
He played a version of Soul Sisters with Purphoros, God of Forge, Norin, the Wary and Myr Chamber to gain silly amounts of life.
G1: I'm on the play and lack of interaction from his side along with my Ezuri allows me to overrun for win.
G2: He stalls long enough to drop Purphoros which bring me down with the help of Norin.
G3: This one was tense until the last moment. He had Soul's Attendant, 2 Auriok Champions and 2 Myr Chambers on board meaning he gained 6 life for each Elf I played. It looked really grim with him being at 78 life and about 5 minutes left on the match clock. My board consisted of ~10 elves of which 3 were Archdruids and around 18 Myr tokens. I had nothing to dump all that mana into so all I could do was just attack for 33 damage to bring him down to 45. The following turn the goes up to 60 and passes. I had 4 cards in hand, 2 of them being Shamans. After careful calculations I decide to attack with most of my force leaving 6 mana up to cast the two Shamans afterwards. Attack and Shamans combined hit him for 59 bringing him down to 1. He cannot recover and I win with about a minute left on the clock. I was hoping to see Ezuri to dump all that mana into but never saw the second copy after he path'd the first one.
2-0 Abzan Company (P)
Classic Abzan Company build with Viscera Seer+Melira/Anafenza combo.
G1: He starts with Birds followed by Viscera and Melira. Luckily for me he couldn't find Finks and 4th land to cast CoCo and I slowly chipped at his life down to 4 and finish him off with a Shaman for 5.
G2: I keep a questionable hand with Llanowar Elves, Heritage Druid, Lead the Stampede and 4 lands. He starts off with Viscera Seer and passes. I follow with Llanowar Elves. His T2 Tidehollow Sculler takes away my Lead and I thought that was it. However I drew Eldritch Evolution and figured the best shot I have is to turn my dork into Anafenza. It turned out it was the right choice as he was unable to find removal for it. He got another Tidehollow Sculler and Cartel Aristocrat off CoCo but it wasn't enough.
Anafenza definitely an MVP against decks relying on GY shenanigans.
0-2 Infect (P)
G1: Even though I won the die roll, Distortion Strike on a Glistener Elf being unblockable won him the game.
G2: T1 Thoughtseize got rid of his Blighted Agent but he still had two Glistener Elves and Noble Hierarch. I chumped for two turns but in the end was left with 1 blockers and he just pumped the unblocked Glistener Elf for the win.
Spellskite is definitely being readded to the list. With Eldrazi Winter and meta shift he wasn't particularly useful in the past months but with the rise of Infect he's ready to make a comeback.
G2: He angers and bolts my early board presence while establishing his with Koth and Thunderbreak Regent. I manage to take down first Koth and the second one while he dropped me to 3 life. I use Evolution to grab a Kalitas for the lifelink. Turn later I get Dwynen with Archdruid on board to prevent his Thunderbreak from attacking. Eventually I flood the board and win.
G3: T1 Thoughtseize off a fetch for 5 life reveals Bolt, Anger of the Gods, Koth and Thunderbreak Regent. I decided to take Anger and hope he doesn't draw lands. My dork gets bolted, he slowly makes it to 4 lands and drops Thunderbreak Regent followed by Thundermaw Hellkite. GG.
Overall I didn't really miss CoCo. Evolution scales greatly late game as it always costs 3 mana which allowed me to tutor up Ezuri and overrun on the same turn if needed or have mana left to regenerate. I forgot to adjust my manabase to lower the Gilt-Leaf Palace count by two and add two more Yavimaya Coasts. There's more testing to be done and possible new inclusions at the moment are Fulminator Mage to deal with manlands such as Inkmoth Nexus and Spellskite for protection and to deal with Infect.
As far as grindier matchups go such as UWR/Jund/Grixis I feel pretty favourable now. The amount of card advantage is simply too much for them with Lead the Stampede, Sylvan Messenger and Coiling Oracle as well as 4 copies of Eldritch Evolution allowing me to fetch Messenger.
Don't get me wrong, I like CoCo and it's a great card but with increased 4CMC count I feel the variance is just too high to justify it's inclusion in this build. There's more testing to be done and I'll report how it goes.
That's an interesting list. Plenty of card advantage indeed with the leads and messengers. Just one question, against infect.. how many Spellskites would you bring in?
Anyway, I enjoyed reading your tourney report, and pretty much all the tourney reports on page 240. Learned some info from them. Currently still building this deck, and practicing with a few of the cards proxied.
Hey guys! I found this elf build online and made a few tweaks and have had pretty good success! Though it doesn't run coco or chord, I figured this was still the right place for it.
Would love any thoughts or input!

Welcome! With this one not including Coco, Chord, or Lead like you said i do believe there is a separate forum for this, However as you have come here i think it only fair to provide some input anyway
The build your running seems to be taking 2 different style of decks and putting them into 1 for Elves and i believe it is actually diluting what you want the deck to be doing (despite success you have had) By running Sylvan Messenger, your getting half the efectivness of the Collected Company build instead of running Lead the Stampede or even both of them as some members do, however you are not running the black so you also loose the Shaman of the Pack which has been vital if you cannot get through with Ezuri due to him dying or not enough mana. It also looks like you have taken a few ideas for Elf Warrior builds where the Focus is on using Joraga Warcaller, Bramblewood Paragon and all the Elf Lords excluding Dwynen Gilt-Leaf Dean (Archdruid, Champion, Imperious Perfect) and Immaculate Magistrate, this type of build focus's on straight beat down by pushing your elves power to be out of Bolt rage. By combining both styles of deck you have less +1/+1 on your creatures due to less lords, you have less ways of getting lots of mana as your not runnning Nykthos and Archdruid is easily bolted without other lords protection and Ezuri seems to be your only win condition out side of having alot of elves on the battlefield and using Promenade. As for the Harbinger the Elf tutor is nice if you need to get Ezuri or your Archdruid but with 4 of each your consistancy should be there i feel as though once u have those in hand your harbinger is now dead for a 3cmc 1/2 mana dork to me is lack luster.
Don't take my post as a bashing of your deck as i do believe you when you have had success, but i feel you could have more success by increasing where the deck is focused. If you want the warrior build run all the lords and go pure aggro, you can even splash blue and run Intruder Alarm to inf mana or Inf tokens (Imperious Perfect), instead of Gilt-leaf Archdruid for your draw you can add in a Regal Force since you run so many tokens, and even a 1-of Craterhoof Behemoth will help out instead of requiring to draw into and keep alive an Ezuri as sometimes you just need something immediate.. Craterhoof for you would be like our Shaman of the Pack except it still required you to attack. Here is a link to the Aggro warrior build if you would like to look. http://www.mtgsalvation.com/forums/the-game/modern/modern-archives/223185-primer-aggro-warrior-elves
Hey! Thanks for the detailed response! I did not see that other forum, and may move over there, and I see what you mean about the dilution. I think the original creator for this decks main plan was to go crazy with the mana production and coast off that. Promenade with heritage Druid is nuts, and the thing sylvan messenger does is she is able to pull anything I reveal that isn't a land since promenade is an elf card, which is really great, and then the deck wins off of either trampling over with ezuri, purely out numbering, or having enough lord effects with joraga and archdruid, or just always stealing their lands with gilt-leaf archdruid. The harbinger is also nice because she also can tutor up promenade if I want the extra body count the next turn.
I will take a look at that warrior thread though, definitely looks interesting!

Trying to decide whether to play this or D&T today. I miss my elves, but they haven't had much success recently. Selfless Spirit looks really great, and helps defend against the Angers of the Gods that are everywhere these days. It seems a little hard to cast since we can't use caverns, though. Anyone had success with BGw elves recently and could share a list? I looked through the thread and it seems like a lot of theorycraft (which I love, don't get me wrong!)

Im not as adept in Modern yet so D&T i dont know what this is so i will say play Elves! :D. As to the Selfless Spirit i have seen people running 1-2 Horizon Canopy in their deck lists to cover the white mana should he get stuck in your hand plus the draw help out as well, I personally have never had him stuck in my hand as i run 1-of in my SB... ideally you want to Chord into your spirit to make your opponent spend the mana and the spell to board wipe and you bring out spirit and sac where as casting him normally shows your hand to your opponent as now they know they cannot board wipe you.
Another option that you can run against board wipes (altho less easy to get since you cannot chord for it) is Golgari Charm, it wont work against Wrath but against ones like Anger of the Gods it will help and it wont require you to go into white mana.
Haven't been able to play for a min but pulling my elf deck together been having a lot of fun with this with friends. Splashed white to play with mirror entity and maybe more fun on the side to make use of it better. Not sure about the side yet so that's just a start. Comboing with the two cloudstones most don't expect and even if it don't get me infinite double summoning shaman has made it a blast. Only played a few games with it so far so no much testing done
Into the finals! Could be a perfect clean sweep in Modern rounds...pretty impressive.
P.S. I will be updating shortly to discuss potential changes to the Primer (as enough new info has arisen to update things a bit). I haven't been playing elves nearly as much as I used to; so I will certainly need help from our most dedicated posters.
He was 11-0 in the Modern part of the tournament. I'd love to see which matchups he was up against especially since he was playing a stock GW list without Shamans for the extra reach. This faster and more explosive approach seems well fitted for a more linear and non-interactive meta but I don't see how this would work in a more control oriented one. Dumping your hand only to be left at mercy of topdecks is what eventually led me to switch to GB Lead version but with GP Lille coming up and Dredge on the rise, who knows.
I know in the top8 he faced Dredge, Abzan and then Jund (Tom Ross, Michael Major's and then Jadine in the finals) and he dropped 1 game total in those 3 matches. He even won one of the games against Abzan that had a turn 2 Grafdigger's Cage using 1/1 beatdowns with 2 CoCo's in hand that were dead cards due to the Cage.

What was the game like against Dredge, if anyone knows? I guess the gameplan is to go off before they do, but I don't really see how. We both seem to be going for turn 4-5 kills, and Dredge can go even faster than that with god hands. Especially if he was playing without Shaman. Although they do have basically zero interaction to stop our goldfishing.
Hey everyone! This weekend was great to elves. I won a local PPTQ from Recife, the city where I live here in Brasil. 2 weeks ago I played another pptq and made top8 with Lead GB list with the same list I played yesterday.
g1 He kept a slow hand with no Cranial Plating and I win elfstrming and Ezuri's activation.
g2 He kept a fast hand with Plating, Ghirapur Æther Grid and 2 Signal and Mox. No chances.
g3 He mull to 6 and kept another slow hand. I overrun him.
Round 2 - Merfolk 2x0
g1 Elfstorming + ezuri's overrun.
g2 He mull to 6 and I beat with Netles, Elites and Shamans.
Round 3 - Merfolk 1x2 (Loss)
g1 I elfstorm play CoCo and didnt find anything, just 2 Elvish Visionaries that draws 2 lands to me and nothing more.
g2 Archdruid on t2, another on t4 and t5 Ezuri.
g3 Elfstorm and didnt draw anything. Started well but I drew 5 lands in a row. Eventually he kill me with 5/5's Islandwalk.
Round 4 - RG Valakut 1x2 (Loss)
g1 I am faster enough to win before he can cast Through the Breach. CoCo + Shamans worked well.
g2 turn 4 Through the Breach, Emrakul.
g3 turn 4 Through the Breach, Emrakul.
Round 5 - UW Spirits
g1 Elfostorming and win with 2 Shamans and Nettles beatdown.
g2 same thing.
I was very lucky and could top8ed with a horrible 3-2 record. My 2 losses was to 2 guys that made top8. I was 7o. place in the swiss.
Top8 - RG Valakut 2x1 (same guy from the round 4) Great, Emrakul again.
g1 I win the race and could win before he could find Through the Breach. Shamans + CoCo again.
g2 Guess what? Through the Breach, Emrakul. (I was wondering how many copys of Emrakul he has on md)
g3 He kept a slow hand and miss his 4th land drop, the match is very intense, but I could win attaking with Nettles and casting 3 Shamans. His last turn he cast Baloth won 4 life, 10 life total, he pass. In my turn I had 1x Llanowar Elves, 1x Nettle Sentinel, 1x Visionary, 1x Shaman of the Pack, 2x Cavern of Souls and 1x Nykthos. I used Nykthos, add 4 green, cast Elite, putting two bodies in play, then cast Shaman for 7, then attaking with Shaman, Nettle and Visionary. Exactly 10.
Unfortunately, I cant find g1 and g2 on camera. Maybe the store's owner didnt press the record button, dont know yet.
g1 I kept a midrange hand with no 1 drops. at t3 I have no elves in play and I am trying to put some clock, even if it plays Nahiri, I could attack her using just visionaries and making he uses removal on this cards. at some point of the game, he has nahiri, I cast visionary and elite, pass the turn, he plus 2 nahiri going to 8 and cast Supreme Veredict. Soo, I couldnt attack her to not get Emrakul on play. Soo, gg. Emrakul again.
g2 I kept another midrange game but with dorks, 2 CoCos and Nettles. Eventually I get the victory beating him down with small guys and casting CoCos. He casted a Supreme, Anger of the Gods and another Anger with Snapcaster. I got the win anyway.
Well, this is it. Thanks to reading and thanks to all of you, making this forum so great with many informations and thoughts, helped me a lot in this months playing elves. I will play elves on PTQ too. Lets see what happens. With elves winning the Invitational I can see a lot of removals in a near future.
Do you think adding Selfless Spirit, either in the sideboard or maybe even maindeck? It's not an elf, which is unfortunate, but it does give us lots of protection since we go wide.

P.S. I will be updating shortly to discuss potential changes to the Primer (as enough new info has arisen to update things a bit). I haven't been playing elves nearly as much as I used to; so I will certainly need help from our most dedicated posters.

Round 1 - Affinity 2x1
g1 He kept a slow hand with no Cranial Plating and I win elfstrming and Ezuri's activation.
g2 He kept a fast hand with Plating, Ghirapur Æther Grid and 2 Signal and Mox. No chances.
g3 He mull to 6 and kept another slow hand.
Exactly 10.
Top4 - Naya Zoo 2x0.
You can wath this match here: https://www.twitch.tv/flash_gordonq/v/84933085 (the match started at 30 minutes of the video).
Finals - Jeskai Nahiri 2x1.
I got the win anyway.
g3 u can watch here: https://www.twitch.tv/flash_gordonq/v/84949714 . The game 3 was pretty similar to g2.
