Add rancor to some aggro and watch how quickly 4 mana angel seems a little too late
In all seriousness I cant see that deck defining the meta right now. Affinity out races, so does burn. Sure it could be powerful (I do think it is) but it also could be a trend right now. Delver was popular for a long time, but that was also because how simlair the playing is to standard. Same thing with legacy stoneforge.
UW weak? Look at the GP that's going on right now... UW is the top deck hands-down. Just like in Standard, Restoration Angel puts it over the top. It'll also be easiest for you to build as you have the Snaps, Geists and Angels already. You'll want some Cryptic Commands, some Spell Snares, some Remands and some Vendilion Cliques, and shocks and Mutavaults if you can afford some and voilà, sweet Modern deck. The other stuff in the deck should be easy to pick up. Sample list for you:
I suspect the "Surprise" factor of the NayaPod decks may have contributed to them getting KO'd in the playoffs once their opponents could see all of their tricks. Should be interesting to watch that deck develop.
U/W also seemed to have problems towards the end of the day as well, which is interesting.
Un ban nacatl, add rancor watch how quickly 4 mana angel seems a little too late
We have an entire Established subforum devoted to Tempo, which includes all variations of Delver.
So, what options there are available for Delver in Modern? UW sounds certain to exist, but with the Modern card pool, I would imagine there are different variations too. I am interested to know which decks are successful in a competitive level(MTGO dailies at the minimum), why is this or that a better option and I would be happy to have a basic idea of the different variations, decklists included. The deck will be primarily played online to begin with. Discuss!
That's Yuu Hasegawa's from the GP 9-0 on day one. There are others but they're all pretty similar, though some pack Spellstutter Sprites.
Edit: hmm best Day 1 records but no top 8s. No Delvers at all in top 8! Make of that what you will.
So you did realize that wasn't a delver deck. Having played it I personally think its a lot closer to pure control then Delver. I wouldn't call it pure control because it packs 16 creatures and no sweepers. I saw a couple decks running Wall of Omens for Angel tricks and to help keep aggro at bay.
Out of the blackness and stench of the engulfing swamp emerged a shimmering figure. Only the splattered armor and ichor-stained sword hinted at the unfathomable evil the knight had just laid waste.

Rancor definitely puts that ban into perspective.
White is just weak. Grixis delver will run the format soon
Says who? Last I checked Affinity was actually cracking out the most wins on mtgo.
Ive seen the power. I cant beleive affinity is doing so well, its an amazing deck. Prolly the best aggro deck ever made, but people should never bring a deck that cant beat affinity, were i play there is always plenty of people playing affinity

Current post- Grand Prix KC Modern Postmortem (7/7/13)
This sounds like Modern Metagame to me.
Merged with Current Modern Metagame

What does Black add?

I assume the guy is just trolling. U and W are two of the strongest colors in modern, and the UW angel deck is as good as Affinity or Jund.
